Great company to work with. Both Joe and Steve were great with communication and very professional. We had gutters and snow guard added to the shop and the house re-roofed after 25 years. McKenzie Roofing crew did an awesome job for us last summer (re-roofing + adding 2 skylights). The crew was super friendly, efficient, and met their deadline although the job was bigger than expected (more damage than thought on the sheathing). The gutter guard that was installed didn't quite do the job with our small pine needles. I called in one year later, and they immediately proposed some solutions (pay back or replace with another system). We choose to replace with a different system. The original cost was used to cover the new material and most of the labor. Hardly any wait time! That was the 2nd job McKenzie Roofing did for us. Both times communication and crew were great. I never had to wait long to hear back when I had a question, problem, setback, whatever. Signed a proposal for gutter and roof work. I was told they were too busy to even put me on a schedule at that time. i waited a month and called the guy (forget his name). He was very arrogant. Said he still had no time to do the work. i said when will you put me on your schedule? he said and i quote, "I dunnO." Got the work done elsewhere for less $$ and more courtesy. I love this company. They are responsive, excellent troubleshooters and make sure to leave their customers happy. I have a low pitch roof with skylights that have leaked. We bought the house in the last few years and were told by neighbors that this has been a chronic problem and multiple roofers have been to the house to try and fix it. Cameron and his crew came out and found the root cause and fixed it (true tested by a few hard and windy rains) !!. They spent time with me explaining options. I asked them if the roof needed to be replaced and as opposed to saying it only had a few years they told me it was in good shape and advised against replacing it at this time. I went into ridgeline roofing supply business to try to buy a small piece of felt for a home project. The staff of the store made fun of me. I lost my hearing in an accident a long time ago, I guess I sounded silly to them. As I was leaving a guy from McKenzie roofing came out and signaled to me. They did a roofing job on an adjacent property to mine. A windstorm blew a large amount of shingles into my back yard, and across a field, and even left some hanging from a tree. I talked to the crew to let them know their shingles had blown all over the place and the employee I talked to blew me off. After a couple of days I called the company and they said they would come and clean it up, although that never happened. Poor business model. read more

I've waited 2 years after McKenzie Roofing replaced my roof to leave my review. The old roof was torn off in 1 day by 6-8 men. Happy men, playing fun music & they like candy! The crew was professional, kind & very tidy. Joe; one of the nicest people I've ever met replaced our new roof by himself. He arrived early, had to wait until the morning ice melted & worked late into the evening to create a masterpiece on my house. It is simply beautiful. More importantly; we've had zero leaks. We recently had work done on our satellite & the dude said what a good job our valleys & vent areas were protected. Joe even painted one of our old spinning vent caps to match! McKenzie Roofing picked up every bit of old roofing chunks & nails from every inch of our property, cleaning our flower beds. They even used a magnetic device to be certain there wasn't one nail left behind. We had zero paint damage from ladders leaning against our house, they use protection. Also we had zero damage to our flower beds & bushes. I would highly recommend McKenzie Roofing. The price for a new roof & gutters was reasonable & easy. We have a covered front deck area that has leaked for 15 years around the sky light & gutters, making that area unusable when it's raining. The gutter guy fixed that & now we can use that porch again. It's a real blessing to have dry furniture, dry deliveries & an outdoor living area again. McKenzie just finished putting a new roof on my home. My house has a complicated roof with lots of different angles and eight skylights. I had dry rot problems in several areas due to a poor job from a previous roofer who apparently did not understand the issues I have. McKenzie was one of five bids I got. The were not the lowest or the highest bid, but I felt they were the best. They immediately understood the problems and explained what they would do to correct them and prevent future problems. I ask around and they were the only company consistently recommended to me by people who had used them or knew of them. One of my other bidders even said they really do quality work. They arrived on time and did a great job from tear off to structural repairs. The new roof is beautiful. They worked on my roof for six days. It took longer due to my roof design, skylights and low pitch drainage issues. The crew members were without exception, hard at work, polite, no swearing and loud music, no problems at all. They did a detailed clean up and I have great confidence in my new roof lasting for years and not having any of the problems I have experienced before. So the day we moved into our house we met with our fencing contractor. Water was flowing over our gutters so our fencing guy offered to have one of his minions come out and clear our gutters for us. So the minion shows up and empties our gutter. He then proceeded to leaf blow the roof. So I'm standing in the kitchen of my new house and I see pine needles falling from the skylight in the dining room. I alert the minion who looks a little shocked. He stops leaf blowing, puts tarps over all the skylights. soon the guy from McKenzie roofing shows up. He takes apart all 3 skylights and informs me that the skylights didn't have any actual seals just a layer of duct tape. Ok, crap maintenance by the seller. Good to know. So McKenzie Roofing guy fixes all three skylights quickly and we're good to go. Welcome to Oregon! Six months later, new problem. Insects are tunneling through the seal on the bedroom skylight getting into our closet and going over to our clothes to bite us later that day. I called up McKR they come out and fix the skylight. Next day, rainy season starts up again. So net pretty satisfied with McKR. read more

My roof is beautiful!! My home was built in 1947 and has some crazy things going on with it. Steve and his crew made some adjustments added vents and did an amazing job. UPDATE! I was super frustrated...I am not anymore. I am happy to report that I was contacted after I filed a BBB complaint. Seth Crabtree worked to quickly rectify the situation. He was professional, agreed to extend the repair of the roof with no extra charge. He explained that they discovered a communication system issue internally and have now fixed it so this kind of situation does not happen again. I felt heard, understood, and respected. If you choose to work with McKenzie request Kenny and/or Seth! OLD REVIEW - Super frustrated and disappointed with McKenzie. About five years ago we called McKenzie and a handful of other roofing companies. At that time they responded quickly and professionally, we learned that our home, although it had a newer roof...was done poorly. McKenzie did good work, and they were affordable. So when the roof had a new leak, we called them again. HOWEVER, I regret I did. We have now have had to ask them to come back twice to address this new leak. They were poor communicators, left roofing materials everywhere, nails sticking all the way through soffits until I said something. Their response to me "you calk and repaint the holes"...Roof is still not fixed! :( It began leaking again less than a month later. Having purchased an older 1950s style home we have had a number of issues and needed the assistance of a several contractors along the way. By far McKenzie Roofing was the most professional. Their crew of long time experienced Oregon workers were easy to communicate with and willing to answer questions and share the challenges they were facing with the project. They were open to looking at different approaches to our needs and most importantly available after the project to clear up some minor issues. Before we went ahead with the project we contacted virtually every roofing company in our area and networked with neighbors, co-workers and members of our church to get feedback on the various roofers. McKenzie got consistently high grades. There are bigger roofing companies in the Eugene area but we feel the level of personal service and responsiveness of McKenzie Roofing sets them apart. read more

Also seemed very honest - whereas others were bent on getting us to do more work than necessary to fix things, or trying to convince us that the roof was ready to give out completely. Why not five stars then? Well, the guy seems to dislike working with women. He would return my husband's calls and answer his questions, but not mine. Joe Dellinger gave me a quote for my gutters in January. I was not ready to have the work done until July. Steve and his crew agreed to come twice to my house. First they removed the old gutters and disposed of the debris. They gave my painter reasonable time to paint the outside, than they came back to place the new gutters. The work they did is fantastic, great attention to detail, the color is exactly what we asked for. We requested extra flashing and they were happy to add it. We were told by other companies that we cannot have one hole gutter of 60 feet, Steeve and his helper did it. And after all was done, the price was still more reasonable than the other quotes we had from three other companies. The best is that they gave us 5 year warranty on their work.
