Pescado in Diabla sauce
Vince A.

Uruapan is a local favorite for Irwindale and nearby locals. I've been here a couple times in the past, and I seem to come back for the same dish; the fish in diabla sauce. This is spicy and not all places can make it good. Over here, they get it right, with the flavor and spiciness and the tender bites of fish. The service here is pretty good. They always give you complimentary chips and salsa, and soup. Either fideo or lentil. Enjoy this authentic restaurant, cool for groups and apparently, they have a night scene too

Menu

Service is good, food is good, however the music is a little too loud for my liking. Other than that, it's a good place to eat.

Had such a great experience here! The service was top-notch and the food was absolutely delicious. Our server, Meli, was incredibly sweet and so attentive the entire time. Her positive, uplifting energy made our visit even better. You can really tell she cares! Five stars, 10/10 recommend. Thank you, Meli, for making our meal so enjoyable! The ambiance was awesome!

While getting my windows tinted to waste time, I went to this restaurant and the food was decent. I got the salmon and lobster meal with a baked potato and vegetables. The lobster was bland and the rice was flavorful but kinda lukewarm. The salmon was hot and seasoned well. The homemade corn tortillas were appetizing. Their pomegranate margarita, chips, beans, and salsa were delicious. The service was good. The host and the waiter were very attentive and nice. The place was clean with televisions hanging on the walls to watch sports. The menu is huge filled with a variety of seafood and Mexican food options. All around, cool spot to hang out with friends and family. Indoor seating only. Uncomplicated parking in front of the restaurant.

Pulpos fritos(Gum Edition)

Came here with my mom and her bf to try the food, since we always pass by the restaurant, we are new to the area, so we would see this place all the time, gotta say the food is expensive and we end up getting the ostiones preparados. Those were good. But we got also got the fried pulpos. Those were horrible!! It seemed like I was eating "gum" they horrible! We even asked our server to return them to the cook and fried them more cuz they were like we were chewing on gum, I rate this place two out of five, and I hardly rate places this low, but this place is just way too expensive and the food is not that great.

Great food, drinks are good too, service is nice. But the live banda OMG to loud. Ok this is how it feels, my sister and I sit way in the back so we won't be too close to the band. As we sit there, the music is so loud we can't talk to each other while it's playing,. We make tense faces and cringe. As soon as the music stops, [they take breaks to collect $25 per song]. It's like a big relief, your body just relaxes, but minutes later the music starts again and the cringe starts again and the banging in the ear start again. All we do is just squint look at each other eat. There's no conversation and as soon as we're done eating we leave. Other than that, very good place to eat.

One my go-to lunch destinations. The excellent customer service here compliments the food and drinks this place offers. I've tried several different dishes and everything I have tried has been great.

First time here waitress was nice and it Was pretty chill since it was a weekday.. although next time I would like to go when they have Banda. The shrimp cocktail was really good.

My opinion is the same for the last 5 years. Very good food. The place is always busy because of its reputation. Approximately 5 people have suggested this restaurant to me.

One time I ordered 4 tacos, 1 burrito, a drink and churros and it took them longer than 25 minutes to be ready. The people who dined in that were behind me in line were served first. This defeats the purpose of takeout... also they burnt the heck out of my churros and still have them to me like that. Their employees are rude especially the girl with the fake red hair. She' s vulgar talking to coworkers instead of customers and a rude attitude. She was rude with an attitude when asked her about drink prices (not on the menu) and a question about the salsa bar . She made me feel like I was a bothering her after spending over $50 in their establishment. The way she behaves makes you think she owns the business. Another thing is that they don't listen or pay attention to your order. Both in person and for delivery they end up messing up your order. It was simple no onions on 3 tacos and they always mess up my son's food. Now I have an angry and hungry little kid on top of the experience. I keep going back because their food is good and kind of hope to have a better experience. I don't I'll go back, it's a shame but it's not worth it anymore. Gave this place many chances to support a small business but they don't reciprocate the love back. This place could be a 5 star but their employees hinder the restaurant back from being that.

Their hand made tortillas are delicious and come out piping hot. When I saw the plate, I assumed that it would be a 5 star meal. Everything looked so perfect. I've actually had to give it some thought and concluded that I would have to rate it 4 stars because of how chewy the meat was. I found myself having to work very hard to finish the last few bites. The asada was medium rare and that might be undercooked for a cut like skirt steak. I'll be back to try their ribeye, which would be perfect medium rare.

Everything looked so clean, well-organized, and inviting. The restaurant itself is lovely, with plenty of seating for a party of one or many. There is ample space for special occasions, a large bar area, a large dining room, clean bathrooms, and AMAZING staff. Every single employee welcomed us to the restaurant. Employees were very friendly, polite, hard-working, and engaging. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the "Martha Salad" while my wife had the Pozole Verde. Both were delicious, perfectly made, very tasty, and filling. The chips and salsa were so good that we ordered a second serving, which is rare for us. We plan to invite family and friends in the very near future so that we can reserve the private group area and have our own party :)

We recently tried this Mexican restaurant and unfortunately the food and drinks were very…read moredisappointing. The margaritas were honestly some of the worst we've had -- they tasted like straight margarita mix blended with ice, and we could barely drink them. The enchiladas were also very underwhelming, especially for the price. It was basically shredded chicken in tortillas with sauce, rice, and beans, and for $20 it just wasn't worth it. The food tasted very Americanized and lacked authentic Mexican flavor and seasoning. That being said, the customer service was amazing. The two ladies who helped us were incredibly attentive, kind, and kept checking on us. They offered extra drinks and multiple items, which we normally appreciate because when we go to Mexican restaurants we usually order multiple rounds and end with Cadillac margaritas. Unfortunately, the drinks were so bad we didn't want to order anything else, but their effort and service did not go unnoticed. One small disappointment was when I asked for hot sauce to add more flavor to my green sauce enchiladas, and I was brought the same red enchilada sauce instead, which made the meal worse. I am a food and beverage manager myself, and I can honestly say I would hire those two servers in a heartbeat because they were fabulous. The service was excellent -- it's just the food and drinks that really need improvement.
