Worst customer service ever . They don't acknowledge customers an when they do they serve you with attitude .

I visited this restaurant for the first time today during lunch. I have worked in this area for over four years and a coworker and I finally decided to give it a try. The reason I never went before is that the restaurant is in a strip mall and it just didn't appeal to me. But, I decided to look past the exterior and give the place a chance. When we walked in, the place was pretty full--this is a good sign. We were seated immediately in a booth--also a good sign. This was the last of what I consider prompt or even good service. My coworker and I sat there for about 10 minutes before our drink order was taken and we were offered chips. Once we received these, we didn't have our food order taken for about 20 minutes. It was very strange because it seemed like this was the norm here. No one else in the restaurant looked impatient, even though I could see they were waiting for service as well. When our order was taken, I asked for more chips (we ate them all while waiting around!) Our server passed by us several times delivering chips to others, while we sat and started on. When we finally recieved our food, the salmon was overcooked, the vegetables mushy, and the baked potato loaded with sour cream. I am positive the fish and veggies were frozen and not fresh. This was just my coworker's plate. I ordered the taco and two taquitos lunch special. It was okay. Nothing special and my taco was loaded with sour cream and I also had a dallop of sour cream on my plate. They must love sour cream here. Overall, the service is lousy and the food is "meh" at best. The ambiance is also not to my liking. If you love lots of TVs with soccer on everyone, then this is your place. read more

Hay chihuahua! I was barking like a chihuahua dog that had way too much hot sauce, and the could not stop eating! I'll try to keep this nice and short, since I am a cooling my mouth down with a cold beer still after a very spicy lunch, and beer affects my judgement. New coworker takes me here, one of her hidden gems of food, as we find out we are both foodies. The place is loud and has a strong "local only" vibe from the restaurant patrons, but I got over that as soon as they brought out lunch to us. Aguaschiles. I never knew a variation of ceviche existed like this, and I was unimpressed with the presentation until I took a bite. No wonder they bring this to you in volcanic rock. Normal bowl will just EXPLODE from the spicy heat and flavor! And that spicy shrimp has a MEAN kick to it, I mean a true slow burn that does not stop! But for all of the heat on the food I could still taste everything! With 1/4 of the bowl down and tears coming down my face, I thought I could stop and ask to have this taken down a notch... bit after my mouth cooled off I went back in to try again. Ask my friends, I'm a glutton... for punishment. 1/2 down, and we began to think about taking it back to the office... then I had a few more bites and still wanted more. Cucumbers, fresh tortillas, fresh citrus flavors... everything really enhanced each other, despite the chili. And a decent selections of Mexican beers helped wash it all down. I'm getting ready to fire up my left overs for dinner. Pray for me. Yes, I would go back for more and see everything else I missed from the excellent assortment of fish meals. Haiii!!!! *One word of caution... if you're not latino/latina, expect to have a lot of eyes on you, making the meal a bit uncomfortable. It sounds racist, I know, but when the soccer game is on the big screen TV and people are looking at you instead, you become aware of it. read more

Delicious, tasty, fresh, amazing...but pricey!! We had a large shrimp cocktail (fresh and wonderful), 1 shrimp tostada and a 6 pack of their special oysters served with ceviche on top (a MUST TRY!!) and 2 modelos to wash it all down...came to $47!! It was sooo good but probably wont be returning anytime soon! they also have a live band on sundays, could totally do without!! Not a fan of tamborazo, wish they had mariachi instead! read more

This place was very good a while back, we came here for Fathers Day 6-16-19. Food was awful rice was Dry no taste the carne asada was dry the enchiladas awful and so expensive! Never again will I come here. I don't know what happened to this place my family and I loved it before and now it just went down hill. I don't recommend this place. read more

What a cool fun place with great food! We were expecting a hole-in-the-wall because my brother-in-law had recommended this supposed "quiet" place. When we walked in this past Sunday, we were literally blasted with old school Mariachi music which was awesome. And the dining room is large. The salsa is DA BOMBA, at once smokey and slightly spicy--and you know I have to like the salsa at the place if I'm going to enjoy any kind of dinner there. We ordered the sampler platter of different seafood tacos and such and it was absolutely mouth-watering and filling. The best thing was the bacon wrapped jalapeno pepper stuffed with scallops. WOWIE ZOWIE! We also shared the oysters which fresh and robust; served no-nonsense with just slivers of lemon. And the margaritas were cold and strong, just the way I like 'em. My bro-in-law also had miquelada, which is basically a Bloody Mary with an upturned beer in it. Didn't think it was gonna be good but it was damn tasty. Love the authenticity, love the music, love the food! Great place though a little loud (seriously, I'm getting older by the minute) as we were seated right in front of the band because it was crowded--which surprised my sister and bro-in-law since they've come here the last three times and the place was literally deserted. read more

Awesome ceviche portions on the tostadas!! The ceviche was not my preferred "style," but the people I shared it with LOVED it (it is the one with the ground fish, I like mine somewhat chunky). The flavor was amazing, and they prepared our to go order with what I suspect was genuine love for the food + client relationship. They gave us a little bottle of tapatio to go, some crackers, chips, salsa, a small bag of sliced limes and a bag of tostadas! At no extra charge! I will definitely be back. read more

BAD Waiters, especially a guy who is always there, thinks he is funny and jokes around too much. I dont find it amusing he tells you your card is declined when you pay your bill to play a joke on you. Especially when you are at a business lunch. So unprofessional. What happened?!?!?! I used to love this place. I have been going here for years and tried a bunch of stuff on the menu but the chipotle shrimp dish was my go to. It was one of my favorite things to eat and I would go here for special occasions. I went here recently, hadn't been in almost a year and it changed. When I looked at the menu I noticed the prices went up rather drastically. Not that big of a deal, times are tough, inflation and all. But I was so disappointed when my chipotle shrimp arrived. They changed the recipe. What used to be a spicy, rich sauce was now cream based, mild, and lacking flavor. Also they used to serve beans with it. I don't get why they would change it, it was perfect. The shrimp dish was still good, but being that they tried to fix something that wasn't broken and raised their prices to an almost unreasonable level, I have to give them two stars. Quite honestly I don't think I'll ever go back here and this was a place i loved going. read more

They did good in accommodating our large group. At first they sat us in three different tables but then relocated us to a longer table which we were able to sit together. It is very loud. Happy exciting environment. Waitress was nice. Waitress messed up on two of our orders, on one she completely forgot to place and the second she gave us food from the children's menu. I highly recommend they write down our orders next time. Good place to hear music but not a good place to carry on any conversations. Prices: I think overpriced. Very good food! Nice size portions and very tasty. Try the fried snapper it's amazing! But I must say that waitress Catalina gave us some of the best service we've ever received a a Mexican food restaurant. She was delightful, knowledgeable about the menu, brought of several different salsas for us to try. She checked in with us made sure that we had a very good restaurant experience and is a very sweet person. Although the food was good (4.5 star) and probably some of the best Mexican food in the area, Catalina makes this place a 5 star restaurant. read more

Stumbled by this place by accident. Great place, super fast service and our waitress took care of us. Our cups were never empty. The tostada de pescado was good and the fried chilies, I wanted yellow but only green available, she came back and said I found one more yellow. She went above and beyond to make me happy. My boyfriend ordered the chimichanga that plate was enormous. They also had Mariachi band playing which made the experience so much more enjoyable. We finished a plate and they picked up really fast. I've only been here twice. The first time I came, I had such a good time and met great new friends. The second time was for my surprise birthday with a few friends. Both times were really good. I don't come here often because it's kind of far from where I live. Yay: -Drinks: the bartender was really nice and friendly. I discovered a new drink. I forgot what it was called because my Spanish sucks, but it's sangria with tequila in it. Genius! -Tacos Enchilados De Camaron: sooooo freaking good! MUST ORDER!! Unless you're allergic to shrimp. -Karoake: they have karoake nights if you're brave... or drunk enough. -Staff is super friendly. Maybe because my new friend that I met there was a regular and so she ordered for us. She even got them to get me a slice of cake and surprised me for my birthday. The salsa they start u off with chips is different but not that good. I do not order shrimp that is not deveined and this is yet, another restaurant that seems oblivious to shrimp cleanliness. The digestive tract in shrimp is a foul and dirty thing that should never enter someone's human mouth. Don't believe me? Clean & devein some shrimp sometime and u will believe! I found it funny that the only deveined shrimp they have is for their $18 aguachiles. came here during a work lunch. the interior looks much better than the exterior. its clean and modern, has a pub-ish feel with big screens all around showing old movies and espn. the food was decent. i got a carnitas burrito - lunch special for $8.99. was enough for 3 meals. meat was tender and burrito was covered in green sauce (bit too spicy for me, but probably nbd for any other person). came with a tiny side of guac. chips and dip are given to the table. the reason for the 3 star review? the wait was unacceptable. for our table of 5, we had to wait a good 40 minutes for our orders to come out! i've heard service is actually really quick here, guess we came on an off day. read more

Have never been disappointed with the food here. Have been coming here for more than 5 years, and have come for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and pretty much any day that ends in day. Getting right down to the food: Breakfast- . They have the BEST chilaquiles I have ever eaten. I like them with their salsa verde. Egg any way you want them, beans and rice compliment these wonderfully fried tortillas that is topped with crumbled queso fresco. Machaca and chorizo con juevo are good too. Mariscos- You can beat their campechana,shrimp, or shrimp/octopus cocktails. My 5 y/o son LOVES their ceviche de camaron and asks for a tostada every single time we go. Their molcahetes are good too. Camarones Costa Azul (bacon wrapped) are awesome. Other than doing it yourself, haven't tasted a better fried tilapia ANYWHERE. My personal favorite is their Filete Uruapan, tilapia fillets in green sauce. Perfectly flakely, yet slightly crunchy, PESCADO PERFECTION! Overall, NO ONE in the family leaves disappointed! We try to go after mass every Sunday and if you can, make sure Rosa is your server. She is the best! one thing I want to try is their Monday Night Football. I like this restaurant. I like the music and food. I love the mango margarita so delicious. I always like to get served by males. I feel their more friendly that some of the females here. Not all waitresses are rude but some are more friendly than others. Its a clean place. The prices are ok. The only reason I gave it a 4 its because they lie about their prices. For example the price on the menu say $10.99 on the recipes its $12.99 before taxes. Why put a prices thats not true. They done it twice already. The last time i did asked why, they came up with such of dumb excuses and apologies and still charge me the other price . Thats the reason i rather go to the other urapan in Baldwin park. I'm disappointed because I came here a few years ago and was eager to come and enjoy the great food and service I experienced before. Unfortunately that wasn't the case this time. I arrived with a large party and already we wernt being serviced from the start. Drinks wernt being refilled and we had to flag a waiter down who happened to be on their phone laughing and gossiping in a circle with other waiters by the restrooms. Waiters seemed to notice we were not happy and continued to not wait our table at all. Food wasn't great either and the meat tasted like it's been frozen in the back for months. Beans were watered down. Also many of my friends were complaining about stomach pain not too long after so we're suspecting either the food was spoiled or maybe something sinister on behalf of the waiters. Go to Guadalajara grill or El pescador nearby those are great options compared to here. You've been warned! read more

This place was not the same from the first time I went. You would expect them to be more sanitary especially with COVID still happening but no the seats were dirty, the tables were not wiped down and last but not least the waiters were rude. I went recently with my friends and family to celebrate my graduation expecting to have a decent dinner but that was not the case. They took forever with our food and the waiters were not even attending us, we had to keep looking for them to serve us. I had never dealt with anything like this at other restaurants. If I had the option to give this place no stars I would. This is honestly one of the worst places to come and eat at. My mom had ordered a fish soup and yet there was no fish. It was literally nothing but water when they served it to her. This was very upsetting for all of us. They even tried to overcharge us an additional $15. The waitress had said that the system was ringing it up that way. He seemed very skeptical when we addressed it to him. This place is a scam! Beware of your visit here. To top it off all of us did get an upset stomach ache from eating here. I do not know if the meat or any of the food was spoiled but yes it gave each of us a stomach ache. But as for this place I hope they closed this whole weekend from the nasty food and service that was given the day I went with my party of 10 Saturday 5/30/21 around 9:30pm. Am I right? Took about 25 min to get someone to come to our table mind you it was not busy! We all only asked for water to make it easier on the guy, but even that was impossible. When he finally came to ask what we needed to drink he was already being rude and looked VERY annoyed not even that medical mask was able to hide the attitude this male was carrying with him that day he definitely wasn't having it. He is very much lucky I didn't tell bring it to his attention because I don't like embarrassing people in front of others. I'm sorry in this world you gotta fake it til you make it sir, especially if you want a good tip given by 10 folks. He came to give us our drinks 20 min later. I don't know his name I wish I did, but he knows who he is sure hope he reads this. My friends and I were excited to eat here and to celebrate because we had been here before a couple of years ago so we thought why not go back? But instead we ended up being very dissatisfied. We really really really tried to like the food unfortunately we had our hopes way up high for this place...when I tell you we all had upset stomachs before we left believe me we did..it was terrible to the point where I couldn't even finish my food I stopped midway and ran to the restroom ‍ my friends were even texting me to see if I was ok. Right after I came out everyone else started to go in the restroom as well which obviously proves something was not RIGHT with the food. I literally gave this guy the benefit of the doubt until I noticed all of our water cups were empty. NOT ONCE did he come by to ask if we needed anything like hot sauces or more chips and dip but I'm glad I didn't ask for it otherwise I would've been in the restroom until midnight and I saw plenty of staff members and no they were NOT understaffed they were chit chatting like it was their Saturday day off in the corner of the restaurant clearly knowing we needed someone to attend us. Wished at this point I could've spoken up but we clearly had class unlike them. So please look elsewhere or you be the judge this was wrong on so many levels and unfortunately covid was not the reason/excuse for this behavior. Oh and please DOUBLE CHECK your receipts I'm glad I know basic math enough to have realized they overcharged us my meal was $23 and they literally put down that it was $28 what a joke this place is. Every time we go to Southern Renaissance Faire, we have dinner here, without question. GREAT food, fun music, kinda loud, but not too bad if you sit up near the front door. In the past, we've had the molcajetes, which are very good, plenty of meat, veggies, and nopales! This time, my lady went with the mole enchiladas, which she said were very good, one beef, one chicken, one cheese. Of course, you can get whatever combination of fillings you wanted, she just wanted to try everything. I got the fish albondigas, which I had never seen anywhere other than here. Sure, the meatballs fell apart a little, but then you just have fish floating around in an excellent broth, with cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, and onions. VERY tasty, and not a lot of heat, so even the sissies can have some. Of course, there's four different kinds of hot sauce, plus the fresh salsa, on the table, if you want to spice it up some. Next time, I"m trying the shrimp albondigas! We got the chicken nachos as an appetizer, not knowing it would be a meal in itself. Not just a LOT of nachos, with fresh chicken, guacomole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and beans, but there was something extra, hard to define, that made us both agree that they were the best nachos we've ever had, bar none. The food was great, but the service was even better. When you go in, ask to be seated in Maria's section, if she's there. Cute as can be, very bubbly personality, efficient, gets the job done with a smile. Treat her well, and you'll have a wonderful evening of fine food and service. Food is good and a reasonably priced for seafood. Service is always a bit rushed, but never rude. This place fills up all the time! The only downside to this place is the parking lot. They share with other businesses, as busy as this place is they need the lot for themselves. read more

After my experience this evening here I will DEFINITELY not be coming back. The service here has gotten so bad. The waitress we had was on her cell phone the whole time standing by the soda machine literally giving us her back. She didnt even come to check on us once. I was really trying to give them another chance after my last visit here that also wasn't the best. They take too long to come take your order and when you are ordering they look annoyed. Just very disappointing. Obviously there is no management there and everyone seems to be able to do whatever they want and worrying about the customer isn't a priority to them. I ordered my food through the phone and when I came to pick it up they didn't let me know my order was ready until we had to ask if it was and they said they forgot to tell us . Also,when I got my food they gave me the wrong order so we were like it's fine probably because they are busy but then as I was eating THERE WAS A HAIR !!and in my beans there was a big stick so we came and the lady was aliitle rude to another costumer who also came to tell them that they have been waiting for a table and it been more then 30 min and they told 2 other waiters and they didn't do anything about it . read more

If you are ever having a bad day, I highly recommend this place. It's AMAZING. My husband and I rarely go out to eat but this place was perfect!!! The atmosphere is sooooo fun!!! The mariachi band was hilarious and the crowd was even funnier! Everyone is so nice!! The servers are SO FAST. They immediately bring the food out, they are so clean and literally clean up the plates off the table in a quiet and fast manner. They deserve every tip, they're awesome. My hubby and I ordered two drink mixes, delicious! Also, we had 2 shrimp plates and fish tacos.... mouth watering just thinking about it!! We were so happy we didn't even think about taking pictures, which is unusual for us! Definitely a must try for the most authentic Mexican seafood and Mexican cuisine. Service is pretty good most of the time. They have the best ceviche tostadas hands down. They are so full that you can barely see the tostada. The coctel de camaron (shrimp cocktail) is also excellent. The fish tacos called gobernador, Marlin, and tacos de camaron enchilados are all tasty! Fajitas are sizzling and flavorful. Everything on the menu is great. But those are most popular. They have a nice full bar but the Michelada are to die for. Hands down the best around. Mangoneadas are awesome too. The bar drinks are top notch. They have live music on Weekends.
