I had a delivery and the shrimp cocktail was the best I've had. That tomato sauce was perfect for my taste. The shrimp were abundant, sweet, plump and pink, the vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, cut, perfectly beautiful, small and uniform, and on top where thin slices of perfectly ripe avocado. I've had this before many times in other places, but this was really the best I've tried. I will definitely get it again. I also had Two tacos and they were very large, so the price is fair and they were delicious the seafood in the taco was just fried next time. I'm gonna try for the grilled. read more

Best family owned mariscos restaurant in valley. I have many dishes that I enjoy, for example the 7 mares(with diced habanero), tostada de pescado, campechana and filete al mojo de ajo. I love the salsa they serve with the chips while you wait for your food. Everyone at this restaurant is very nice the service is always great. I see a lot of the comments claim that this place has the best mariscos in the valley???? I'm literally in shock!! Has anyone ever had good mariscos? We had the shrimp tacos, it almost reminded me of half cooked fish sticks on stale tortillas, absolutely awful. The campechana mixta was mediocre at best. No flavor, (four) pieces of shrimp and over priced. Reminded me of shrimp water with soggy veggies mixed with ketchup. To top it all off they only accept cash!! Go figure!! We only tried this place out because my sister highly recommended it! I'm taking her to mariscos El Jato so she can try what REAL mariscos taste like!! From a true foodie's standpoint, I highly recommend that you try your food before serving it! Do some research, try new recipes, be open minded. Little place but ceviche is really good. It's fresh and I like the flavor. It's balanced out really well. I always order shrimp ceviche but since the COVID pandemic they don't have octopus available most of the time. That's ok. When I think ceviche I think of those place before anywhere else. The food was authentic Mexican style and estaba sabroso! (It was tasty!) My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday around 12 pm. We waited for a table, but the turn around was fast. The food was ordered at the register (CASH ONLY). And the food was brought to the table. The server, who also happened to be the cashier (Potential Bottleneck), brought us complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered 2 large Coctel de Camaron (shrimp cocktail), 12 Pata de mulas (blood clams), 6 oysters, and 2 aguas frescas. We paid around $51. There were a lot of shrimps in the cocktail. So I haven't been to this spot in over 7 years.... Since I moved out of the area... Was in the area and remembered the good shrimp cocktails here.... Large shrimp cocktail had plenty of large shrimp... Glass was packed they sure don't skimp on the shrimp here..... Came with some avocado on top and limes, and crackers on the side plus tapatio to spice it up!! Extensive fish dishes here tooo.... The Ceviche tasted pretty good but destroyed my stomach. I was excited to try this place because of all of the stars but boy did I pay the price! The Ceviche had a bit of a fishy smell that I looked over- NEVER AGAIN will I do that. Took about an hour for the bubble guts to kick in. Don't judge a book by its cover when you come here as this small and divey hole-in-the-wall in a not-so-great neighborhood doesn't look like much but they have DELICIOUS AND VERY FRESH SEAFOOD that makes me come back again and again! My Mexican friend recommended this place so I know it's authentic and legit. I always order the shrimp ceviche or mixed seafood cocktail with avocado slices on top. My mom ordered the grilled fish filet with garlic cloves one time and she was pleasantly surprised by the taste and freshness of the fish. Their food comes with complimentary chips and salsa. an easy 5 stars. When you walk into this place you know that you're about to get something super legit. Small joint. No frills. No credit card machine. CASH ONLY so be ready for that. Waitresses are super awesome and nice. They give lots and lots of saltines with their cockteles and their chips and salsa are great... well their salsa is great, chips are passable. Shrimp cocktele was okay. There wasn't as much flavor as I wanted but you could tell that it was nice and fresh. I would have preferred more flavor and I would have preferred tostada shells vs. saltines. So why 5 stars then???? The mother F*@#ing FISH TACO! YUM!!!! Easily the best I've ever had in LA. The fish was a little broken up but I got "To-Go" so i'm going to assume that it's not broken up when you eat it right there. The flavor of the fish is very good. The cabbage is sliced thin enough that it works as the perfect topping. (I hate when the cabbage is too thick that it's no longer crispy and light, rather hard and dense.) Just ordered pata de mula and it was not cooked, the whole plate was bloody, it seems it was old sea shell. Didn't even eat didn't want to get sick. Please make sure to cook the pata de mula before selling it, there is nothing more nasty than seeing the plate full of blood. I've never eaten it like that, it wasn't even prepared. read more

They only accept cash but its ok because there is an atm at the 711 directly next door. The one thing that u do have something to say about was that the fish tacos werent the best because they were quite bland. On the way home from Simi Valley I was craving fish tacos but had no clue where to get them from so of course I hop on Yelp and see this joint with 5 stars! I automatically think that most of these reviews are from people with 0 friends and 1 review. Boy was I wrong! I started reading these awesome reviews from highly qualified yelpers about how great these fish tacos are and how they are arguably the best fish tacos in the SFV. I zoned in on Daniel C's review which then led me to Diana V's review and I was sold after that. I ordered 2 fish tacos and 1 shrimp taco and although they were both delicious, my favorite turned out to be the fish. The only minor drawback for me is that they don't carry tamarindo juice and I wouldn't advise you to get it from next door because it was terrible! Also the place is cash only so make sure to get some before you get there. There is an ATM at the 7 eleven a few doors down but it charges $2.95 for the transaction and you could be using that for a $2.50 fish taco. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros read more

This is my 2nd time eating here and I loved their Mix coctel. The waitress is really nice and she is quick to get your food.
