Only place near me that serves Aguaschiles(raw shrimp marinated in lime juice and green or red salsa) and it is deeeeeeelicious!!!! All of their seafood is so gooood! Huge place with lots of seating and even valet parking! We are here on a Friday and they have live music too!!! They serve Mexican and seafood dishes. Salsa and chips are served at the beginning and the salsa is hot and fresh! They have aguas frescas, sodas and a full service bar too. Because it's huge service speed can vary but it's mostly good. La Marea in Oak Cliff is a large venue. On weekends it is very busy. However, the wait was not a problem. They have a large stage for performers on the weekends. This place is ideal if you want to invite a group of 10 or more out to eat because seating is usually doable. The food is average, a 3/5. Also, for a busy night, the food takes a while to come out since there's over 100 people they serve. They have a large bar, and many alcoholic beverages to choose from. It is family friendly, and the staff is great too! If you get there by or before 7PM you could probably beat the wait times. It does get very busy on weekends, but there's plenty of parking and complimentary valet. Service here is awful. I ordered the breaded shrimp plate which comes with 7 shrimp and an extra order of 6 shrimp. I was told that I was given the extra 6 shrimps I ordered apart from my plate and that the cook and waiter both counted the shrimp and they counted 13 shrimps but when I received my plate only 7 shrimp on it. They gave me the run around and said they were looking at the cameras in the kitchen to see if the plate really had 13 shrimp. Such a shame, I was really hoping to have a good experience here but will not be coming back. Went in a Friday night, super busy place. This place is huge they need alot more wait staff. We waited an hour for our food. The waitress was so slow. We ordered shrimp coctel and shrimp agua chllies. Let me tell y'all the shrimp agua chilles are super hot which I ask the waitress if they were spicy and she said the red sauce is but the green is not. So I order the green one, well I can handle spicy food but these were beyond spicy that left my mouth and lips burning afterwards. They have live music which was good. If you're looking for delicious cheap eats then Mariscos La Marea is the place for you. You can't miss the restaurant when you're driving by because it's bright blue. Dinner started out with the classic chips and salsa. The chips were thick and the salsa was hearty. It was on the mild side so I kicked it up with the hot sauces available. Each table had 5 bottles of different hot sauces. I was impressed. Not one brand was left out (except Sriracha but it's a Mexican joint so I shouldn't expect it here). I ordered the whole fried tilapia ($10.99) and a 1/2 dozen of decked out oysters. The fried tilapia was really good and moist. The fish wasn't extremely large so I was able to finish it cleanly. The fish came with an avocado topped salad, Mexican rice, and fries. The rice and fries were an afterthought. I've never had ceviche topped oysters before and I didn't care for this version. The raw onions overpowered the oysters so I couldn't really taste the oysters. It did look impressive with all the seafood toppings. I saw others get this combination clay pot dish that looked amazing. It look hefty and everything was grilled. I'm coming back and getting that next time. read more

Halloween party was fun and the food was great. The club lighting was a bit blinding but overall a fun place for Mexican music and some dancing. It is a restaurant mainly but they turn it into a dance club after about 10pm. Id go back if invited. Its a nice change of pace. read more

We ordered to go on the UberEATS app. We ordered the super mariscada plate to go. The food did not taste fresh at all once it arrived. The ceviche tostadas tasted like they were squeezed with fake lime juice and had not much flavor. The shrimp both grilled and fried was just not good and neither was the fish. If I wanted cheap fried seafood I would've went to long John silvers. I was super disappointed and the fact that I wasted $25+ on this order makes it even more disappointing. This is definitely a "hole in the wall" restaurant. You probably wouldn't think much of it if you were to pass it by. It's definitely not a fancy place but it is fun if your in to Mexican music. I had a great experience here. It was my first time coming and they had live mariachis. Guests were even offered to come on stage! We had some great locals with great vocals. The food was amazingly delicious. Got to taste everyone's on the table. And the waitress was on her grind. Brining is regula and whatever we needed so promptly. We used to love going to Mariscos la Marea when they were located on Cockrell Hill, but we went today for the first time since they moved to Walton Walker and it was awful. First of all, it took like 20 minutes before we were acknowledged and got our chips/salsa and drink order in. Second, the music karaoke was so loud that we couldn't even talk to each other and the server couldn't even hear us place our order. She kept asking over and over what we wanted and we had to yell across the table because she was to lazy to come around and ask everyone personally. Third, when we asked if the music could be turned down, the guys on the stage laughed and acted like their singing abilities were amazing and never turned the music down. Fourth, we finally just asked to have our food packed to go instead and they brought out our food so we could pack it all up. Fifth, they never brought out any silverware for us to eat with so when we loaded our food to go we had to use chips to scrap our food off of the plates. We will def never go back. The services was awful, they looked so under staffed that the servers there looked pissed off to even be working, and don't go if you're trying to have a dinner out with your family. read more
