My family and I tried going to a restaurant in this area which turned out to be closed. So we did a quick Google search for ceviche restaurants in the area. Mariscos El Chuy was listed with 4.7 stars so we decided to check them out. Honestly we almost drove past this little hidden gem. We were concerned about the restaurant's exterior aesthetics. But once we entered this very small restaurant and took a look at the menu, we were ready to order everything on it. The ladies in kitchen were extremely friendly and amazing cooks! Great food. The shrimp and fish was really delicious and really fresh. Even my wife who is from Mexico, really liked it.

If you're ever in the DFW area and are in a mode for Mariscos this is the best hole in the wall. Don't let your first impression of this place make you want to drive away. Give it try because it won't disappoint. Plus you can BYOB.

Tostadas chacalosas would definitely go back. Authentic! The spot is not the best ( beware ) but it was still good

Happy Hour Oysters are amazing!…read more I forgot the cocktail names, but I got the espresso martini with tequila peanut butter and my man got the drink with the gunpowder gin. They were both very good, we got second rounds of it too. Food wise, the happy oysters were great and refreshing. We tried oysters from multiple different locations. Hot food were solid. Fried calamari, jumbo lump crab cakes with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, fish and chips with cheesy grits were all good! Service was a little slow, but we went during half priced wine bottles which made sense. Everyone was nice and helpful though! Ambiance was very nice too. Definitely recommend!

Great experience at this restaurant that started with ambience. It feels like a seafood restaurant…read more Service was excellent. They utilize team approach where someone else brought the drinks and food runners brought the food. Manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. Our water glasses were never empty. I ordered a Bloody Mary that they returned with a shrimp and celery stick. Nice touch. I specifically went here to try their soft shell crab and it did not disappoint. Others in the party had lobster rolls and the fried shrimp basket. I forgot to mention that we had the appetizers , crab hush puppies and fried oysters and both were excellent. We also tried the bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert that we really liked. Overall we would definitely return.
