I love this place. I always order crab legs. The waitresses are very nice, great location and sometimes they have karaoke, which i love! But the last time i brought a friend here they took over an hour to get our food out. They were not busy at all. The workers kept coming back and telling us it would be "right out", i was really upset since i do only come to get one thing. Bad experience from the moment we sat down. We waited 15 minutes just to be told that we will only be able to put in a drink order, the waitress said she cannot take any food orders as they are backed up. There was a total of 8 of us. When the waitress eventually came to take our drink order, instead of her coming closer to us she is trying to ask for our drink order from across the table. Her knowing how loud it is and the fact that she kept making us repeat ourselves and still could not hear us she just kept standing at the opposite end of the table. The waitress brought the drinks and of course the order was completely wrong. I do not know how many times I had to call her over to me and no matter how many times I've explained to her the drink order she still did not get it. We ordered 7 waters an horchata and 2 beers how hard is that? We told her our order in English and Spanish but the fact that it's too damn loud in there it's made it very difficult and made the whole experience the worse especially for a first time visitor. Not just that, we had to call her over just to get a refill of water, she didn't care to check on us at all. Since we sat next to the bar, the waitress was handing my husband the drinks from the bar for him to pass it to my dad and brother while she's spilling it to make her life easier and some spilled on my husband. She had space to get to each and every one of us but decided to make all of us do her job while she is spilling drinks all over the table. We were there 45 minutes and were able to finally place our food order. They had a bigger parties and same size party as ours get there a little after we were seated and they were able to put in their food order. This whole place was just completely unorganized and had no reason to be. They had maybe about 6-7 waitresses they were not as busy as other restaurants, there were plenty of available tables so I don't know what it was. The food eventually started coming out, after 15 minutes of waiting my parents asked the waitress where my husband's food was at as we all had our food already and she said it's still not ready it's going to be a while longer. At this point we've been there an hour and a half, my husband was just over it already and told her to cancel it as he had lost his appetite already. When my husband told her that lo and behold his food magically appeared. He told her he still wants to cancel it as he just was not hungry anymore and irritated. I did not eat my food nor get to enjoy myself as today was my husband's day and he was not even able to enjoy his meal like he wanted. Out of 8 of us we only ordered 6 meals and my brother ordered oysters as they had already ate before they joined us for dinner. I don't understand why it took so long. Overall 2 hours for it to be the worse experience ever. The only good thing out of this we checked in and were given a table in less than 10 minutes. read more

Came by for lunch to try El Cangrejo Mariscos which was recommended to me by a friend. I arrived right before the lunch rush and good thing because when I was leaving it was packed. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Daisy brought chips and salsa and took my drink order. By the time she came back with the drink I knew I was in for a delicious meal. When you taste the salsa you will know what I mean. Great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Of course I have to order my go to Camarones a la Diabla. The plate was huge and plenty of large camarones, the sauce is one of the best that I have had in all of the places I have been thus far. When you are in the La Mirada area and looking for a great place to grab a cold beer and a bite to eat this should at the top of the list. Until next time! read more

I've been to this place a few times in the past. It usually does not disappoint but... today I ordered take out. I ordered a tostada de ceviche de camarón, (shrimp ceviche tostada) which I have ordered in the past. The shrimp is supposed to be cooked in lime, which it wasn't. I'm not not an expert but I think the shrimp is supposed to be cooked in lime juice, these shrimps weren't and we're still grey. Not to mention there was no flavor to them. The worst part was that the consistency of cut to the shrimp was horrible. There were chunks, whole shrimp, and mushed parts. Seemed like someone rushed their work. This is my 4th week coming on Thursday nights. To start I've had the pleasure of great service 3 of my servers were attentive, respectful, cordial, and very friendly (10/10). one was not so good. The food has always been serve on time and very flavorful. The music can be a bit too loud, but FUN with Karaoke night. I've brought my neighbors, and my family here, always good food and great drinks. I recommend the Micheladas. Overall my favorite time to come will be on Thursday Nights, not too loud as Friday nights and the wait is too long (30+ min.). The portions here are great! The shrimp ceviche was fresh, however it was severely under seasoned which isn't a good feeling when eating raw seafood. The piña de mariscos was amazing! The burst of flavors that hit your palate when you taste the spicy shrimp, octopus, and pieces of cheese encompassed in a savory sauce on a bed of fresh pineapple is bliss. Service was also great! My friend was the one that wanted to come here. She wanted to try the torre de mariscos. Place is nice. Great service. Micheladas were so good, chips and salsa were good, the torre, feel like it lacked a bit of flavor. There was a sweetish habanero sauce that was at the table. That gave it an amazing mix of flavor. I added a few spoon fulls of the consome de camaron they gave us just to mix. Can't complain. It was what we went in for.
