I love this place. Their fish tacos are my favorite. I've had crispy tacos and enchiladas. Always good. Their chips and salsa are the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, they'll only be here until Sunday, their last day. Rent was too expensive and the owner of the property won't negotiate. So sorry to see them go. read more

Very good tortilla chips! The restaurant is small, so there can be a wait for a table if there's a show that evening. If you have a show or movie, they will keep that in mind and be quick. Everything I've had was decent, though no dish stands out. The servers are very nice, and they let me charge my phone using their office charger! Great place! Our favorite spot to dinner before seeing a play at the La Mirada Theater. Too bad it will be closing due to problems negotiating a new lease. Go while you can. I love their margaritas even though they're made with wine (no liquor license). My favorite is the cauliflower tacos. Also their house made flan, I have it every time. read more

If you stop by the same day as your La Mirada theater show and show your ticket, you can get 15% off on entrees. Good place to grab a drink and/or dinner. Love me some complimentary bottomless tortilla chips and salsa. Both times, I ordered the mole chicken enchiladas plate both times. I just wish there was more mole to keep the enchiladas flavorful. We needed a dinner place before watching a musical at La Mirada Theater and this was listed in the theater's choices for pre-event dining. We certainly had high hopes, but we later found out all items we ordered were just lacking. The Tamale and Fish Tacos in the Combination of Plate that I ordered lacked that distinct taste that a restaurant ought to have..a chef's stamp is how I call it. My friend thinks the same way with his Seafood Burrito..it lacks that distinct flavor you look for in a dining place. I don't want to think that this is their usual..perhaps the chef (or the main cook) was absent? Even the chips' salsa needed a 'punch.' The presentation was great, the portion was good. The rice and the refried beans were okay. The food attendant was also very nice. Took the food home and ate it the following day with a dash of pepper and soy sauce and we enjoyed it :) read more

I've seen this place for as long as I can remember, but never thought to try it until recently. I regret not trying it sooner. This place is fantastic!! My husband and I sat at the bar top, which is our preference. We ordered a bottle of wine to share. We were pleased to see one of our favorite wine brands, Canyon Road. We started off with the corn chowder. It is soooo good! This is now one of my new favorite soups. It is comforting, flavorful, and cheesy. Next we shared the ceviche. It was fabulous. It was the perfect blend of tilapia and shrimp. Last, we shared the fajita chicken quesadilla. It was amazing. It was full of veggies and flavor. The chips and salsa were also great. The bartender and the manager were friendly and helpful and showed us food photos on a tablet. We will definitely be back, especially when we see a play at the theater. I went there on a Friday night. It was busy, there were a few people waiting for a table. I walked up to the host to put my name in, and before I said anything, he put his hand up and rudely said hold on a minute. I looked at him and said, I didn't say anything. He repeated his comment and walked away. We walked out. We went over to Panera and I had a delicious spicy chicken sandwich with a fresh salad. I usually grab a trio of tacos from this place after watching a movie at the adjacent theatre. Great damn tacos, and the only reason I'm not leaving a single star...BUT a 1-star review today is warranted because of the rudeness displayed by who I assume is the owner (assumption based on the multiple other low reviews complaining of the same behavior). The restaurant basically stopped service a bit early tonight which is fine (I walked in about 30 min before closing), but I didn't realize me walking in and not noticing the closed sign was worthy of a tongue lashing from the establishment. To think I WAS actually APOLOGIZING for accidentally walking in, and he still went out of his way to berate me. The entire encounter lasted about 20 seconds and yet he still somehow was able to make things uncomfortable. Sad, cus I actually dig the food here. read more

We came here for dinner before going to the La Mirada Theater. It was an excellent choice. We beat the crowd and the service was great. I had a huge burrito stuffed with chicken and rice. My boyfriend had a huge serving of steak and shrimp fajitas. The chips were crispy and the salsa had the right amount of spice. The drinks were refilled promptly. I ordered the homemade cheesecake, made and served by the owner's wife. The Oreo crust is topped with coffee flavored cheesecake and topped with chocolate. So delicious. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and efficient. We were catching a movie and she was able to take our order almost immediately. We ordered tacos - carne asada and shrimp. Just something quick and safe since we were short on time. Unfortunately, the carne asada was a bit dry and lacking flavor. The shrimp tacos were good though. Hadn't been here in a while maybe 2-3 years but stopped in on a Taco Tuesday around 5 place was busy but as soon as we walked in they got us seated I tried a nice IPA from San Diego accompanied by a small side of guacamole both were fantastic then got some carne asada tocos they were also amazing asked for the check and the owner brought us a dessert on the house fried ice cream Super nice guy this place was great and I highly recommend it especially if you like IPAs give them a try I'll definitely be coming back read more

I came to this restaurant specifically to try their carne asada plate. My daughter, who wasn't hungry for the same food, got some sushi from the place next door and came back to sit with me while I waited for my order. About 20 minutes passed--my daughter had almost finished her sushi, and I still hadn't received my food--when the male owner suddenly came over, took her empty plastic sushi bag without saying a word, then came back and threw a sauce packet at the table, followed by a napkin in the same rude, aggressive way. Not a single word of explanation. His behavior was completely uncalled for. I felt disrespected and uncomfortable, so I asked the waitress to cancel my order, which she did. Later, the female owner came over and apologized, explaining that food from other restaurants isn't allowed due to health department rules and that it could cost them points. I understood the policy, and I told her that I would have respected it had it been communicated politely. But the way the male owner handled the situation was unacceptable. I left without eating and will never return. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially when a simple explanation could've resolved everything. read more

Six of us came in after a show, and the owner was very rude and said you need to give us a heads up next time. I'll have to call my wife in to help. We said well maybe we should go somewhere else and he had a complete attitude and said maybe you should. After the rest of our party came, we decided that we were not gonna give him our business and as we were leaving the restaurant he said "I thought so" and said "adios".
