I spent a couple of hours here and loved how calm and uncrowded it was. One of my favorite details was the instrumental/classical music playing on what looked like an old-school record player. My husband and I decided to stop by this coffee shop recently. We didn't realize that we've passed by it before, but we're glad we found it! We also ordered the Korean BBQ Bulgogi Panini to share, and it was very delicious! The barista behind the counter was very polite and helpful. Hygge Coffee is a solid coffee shop to visit. There are plenty of seats and the interior is pretty cute. We ordered 2 lattes, one iced lavender oat and one hot pistachio. I found both a bit sweeter than I preferred (so will need to make sure to request 50% sweet next time), but overall the flavor of the coffee really shines. Super friendly staff. Wonderful selection of Lattes (my fav). Located in a strip mall on the corner lot makes it very easy to get to although parking can get complicated. HYGGE COFFEE serves very good espresso coffee drinks for the local community in La Mirada. It's located in a shopping center with a large and free parking lot with plenty of available spots. There was no line to enter and no line to order. There is a very large indoor dining space with many tables and chairs where you can park your laptop and study or work. Their STRAWBERRY LATTE is delicious - it's strawberry milk with no coffee. The HOT CHOCOLATE is rich. The FLAT WHITE is delicious, the coffee flavor is strong, the milk was hot. The older couple that work here at so cute! Extremely friendly. It looks like they serve Stumptown coffee. We ordered a drink she recommended: Peanut Butter Latte. I was a little nervous, but surprisingly shocked at how good it was! I like my lattes to still have the coffee taste, along side whatever additions are added. My biggest pet peeve is an overly milked/water down coffee. This was not that! The coffee was well balanced sweetness, milk as coffee ratio -- you can tell by the color richness. The peanut butter was more of a peanut brittle taste and is more on the sweeter end. But I enjoyed it and can see why it's one of their most popular drinks. I have tried most of their lattes and their Strawberry Latte. Just know that the Strawberry Latte should be renamed to "Strawberry Milk" since I confirmed with the barista (a older gentleman who is also the owner of the coffee shop) said there were no caffeine or coffee in the Strawberry Latte. I purchased the Strawberry Latte thinking there was coffee/caffeine in it to find out there wasn't. My favorites are Vanilla, Lavender & the Spanish Iced Latte. The taste of the coffee is very real and delicious. The services here are always superb! The barista is the cashier and it's always the same guy. He is very friendly, helpful, and very welcoming! The restroom was very clean and so was the seating area. The coffee: I had the iced salted caramel latte with oat milk. It was a bit sweet for my liking, but the flavor was good. We were greeted by a Korean man who appeared to be the owner. Didn't get his name but he welcomed us with a huge smile which was greatly appreciated. I got their Irish Cream Latte, half sweet, with oat milk. The latte itself was very refreshing and was bursting with flavor. Excellent drink overall with an ample amount of flavor. The interior has a lot of tables available and it's very spacious inside. There's one unisex bathroom available. The music isn't too loud, which is a plus for those coming to study. With the insane weather as of late, I was in search of a coffee shop that was not packed with loud, sweaty people. After hopping around 3 different cafes, I discovered Hygge tucked away in a small plaza. The establishment is well-spaced out and not overcrowded. When I went to the counter to place my order, I saw that their coffee bean is from Stumptown which is one of my favorite roasteries. I ordered the iced latte which was delicious and satisfied my craving for the day. Unfortunately, the minus one star is not from my own personal experience but from another. While I was studying, I noticed the owner calling out to a group of four customers sitting at a large table. They didn't hear him so he proceeded to walk over to the two without any drinks and I heard him say, are you guys ready to order? As a business owner, you have to accept the fact that not every person from a group may order something when they step foot into the shop. The requirement of one purchase for one person is a turn off, especially since there is no indication that that is a rule of the shop. Beware to those who come in groups. read more
