I came with a friend and we both had an amazing time. Great food, great drinks, and an overall fun atmosphere. We definitely recommend this spot and will be coming back! We ordered several dishes and everything came out fresh and flavorful. The chicharrones de pescado bites were crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the molcajete was packed with tender meat and shrimp. Eduardo's service was friendly, attentive, and fast. Loooooved the music selection read more

My friend and I came here for lunch and everything was very yummy. She had the fish tacos, baja style and the New York strips steak tacos and both were delicious. I had the campechana. It was affordable.... And delicious a really large portion. I also love the decor and the outdoorsy atmosphere, even though it's inside it's mostly patio. read more

Came here after reading the reviews and they did not disappoint. We were a crowd of 5 and they seated us outside. It was next to the street but the sound was tolerable. Service was consistent, they checked on us and gave us everything we asked for. It's a seafood place so of course the dishes were centered on seafood. I had to deduct two stars because of minor things like the shrimp were not deveined, the clams and mussels were on the smaller side. The portion size was generous. Their lemonade was gigantic! I would try them again, next time maybe the fish tacos? Tip for parking, if there's no street parking, try parking next door at the CVS lot. read more

Love the food. Love the drinks. And Moises made the service one of the best! He was attentive and had some great recommendations! They also asked if we wanted to be away or near the music. Which I love due to being sensitive to loud sounds. I really felt that they didn't mind the accommodation. read more

Randomly stopped off here looking for some authentic Mexican food. This was such a fun spot. The food was FANTASTIC. We tried the fried fish appetizer which was so yummy. Ceviche was superb and their shrimp tacos delicious. Server LAURA was five star. All the staff was very friendly. we are coming back and brining our friends! read more

Such a great and welcoming place to eat! This was our second time visiting, and I have to say the service this time was phenomenal. We were originally told the wait would be about an hour and a half, but we ended up being seated much sooner than expected. Andre, our server, greeted us right away and provided excellent service throughout the entire experience. Our drinks, appetizers, and entrees all came out quickly, and everything was delicious. Also, the bohemian decor is absolutely beautiful -- we loved the atmosphere. Definitely looking forward to coming back! read more

This was our first time visiting and we had a great experience from the moment we walked in. Everyone was welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the filete choix, which did not disappoint. The fish and shrimp with the spicy chipotle sauce were flavorful, and the spice level was perfect for my taste. The service was excellent. Several staff members checked on us during our meal to make sure everything was going well, which truly stood out and showed the level of care they have for their guests. I also really appreciated the restaurant's decor and atmosphere. We were seated in a semi-outdoor area near the host stand, which still turned out to be a great spot. Hopefully on our next visit we'll have the chance to sit indoors and experience more of the restaurant, because from what we saw, the interior looked beautiful. read more

Tried this place out last Saturday night and it was delicious! Located in Downey, there's some street parking and a parking lot next to it that you can park in, there's security in the lot and nearby the restaurant. You can also join their waitlist ahead of time via their website. For a party of 2 in the patio, we waited about 20mins but were able to join before we left to the restaurant so we only waited about 10 minutes there. The only thing is they don't have seats outside so just sat on their ledge until our table was ready. Once inside, you can get a Mexico vibe and a pretty aesthetic! The menu is pricey though, it seems like a good place for groups and/or celebrating something. They have big drinks, buckets of beers, micheladas, and more that we saw other tables ordering. We didn't get any drinks this time and weren't super hungry. They gave us complimentary tostadas and salsa (the salsa is spicy! In a good way) and our food came shortly after we ordered. We both ordered a tostada each, I got the shrimp tostada and my friend ordered the fish ceviche tostada. We both really enjoyed our meals! We shared an order of the shrimp empanadas, which looked pretty but tasted okay, a little doughy. In the patio area they also have TVs so we were able to watch the dodger game that was on. Overall, the food was good but a tad overpriced, feels like you're paying for the vibes. As noted earlier, a fun place for groups if you're willing to spend a little extra! read more

The ambiance here is nice and sometimes they have live music, you just have to check the schedule! The food is good but a little on the pricier side and average portions. The Micheladas are tasty just a note the alcohol is on the pricier side as well! I tried the tostada rebelde and the fish tacos here! The service is good and the waiters speak both Spanish and English. As soon, as you are seated they welcome you with fresh salsa and tostadas to snack on! The place has been recently remodeled and it is nice and modern inside the establishment! It gives a modern, Mexican, tropical aesthetic! The only downside to this location is the parking which you have to fend for yourself on the street lol. There are tvs outside in the patio area if you are interested in game watching. read more

Let's start with the ambiance, the decor and how beautiful and inviting this place is. Walked in and automatically LOVED the look! Came here on a Tuesday on a late lunch time. Between 12-2. It was slow which I love. Came to celebrate my birthday and when I tell you it was a success I mean it!! Our waiter (DANIEL) was TOP TIER! We sat down at the bar and ordered drinks. He recommended one that was not on the menu and he killed it!! So delicious. We then ordered the empanadas which by the way we're our favorite. Also got the aguachiles, fish tacos and ceviche de tostada. We didn't like the tostada. But they took it back and we're amazing about it. To top it off they sang me happy birthday and got a ice cream Sunday and made my birthday AMAZING. I look forward to coming back Definitely for the food but most for our waiter DANIEL! You we're the BEST. Also can't forget the playlist was reggaeton and Latin music can't ever go wrong with that! Thank you! read more

A heartfelt thank you to our favorite restaurant where the food is always delicious, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the service truly exceptional. Every member of the staff makes you feel welcome. It's truly a home away from home for our family. We are especially grateful for the kindness shown to us during a very difficult time. Our family had planned to celebrate my dad's birthday here, something he had been looking forward to, but sadly he passed away before we could share that moment with him. With heavy hearts, we chose to still come and honor his memory. That evening became something incredibly special because of you. Thank you to Daniel, Laura, and Jenny, who showed such genuine compassion and care to my mother and our entire family. Your kindness meant more than we can express and helped turn a painful day into a beautiful tribute filled with love. Thank you for your warmth, your empathy, and for creating such a meaningful experience for our family. We are forever grateful. read more

The food is so so good. Definitely coming back. Rosalinda was amazing !!! Super sweet and informative. She needs a raise!!!

Great drinks, great food, and amazing service by Rosie (Rosalinda). Will definitely be back!

I love this place. I am not kidding the Ceviche Mitotero is one of the best plates of seafood I've had. I've gone back twice for the same thing. It has a mix of the different types of ceviche and you don't even have to add anything onto it. The lime flavoring and chile is all there and it's so damn good. As far as the place itself it's very clean, modern and well organized. They can get pretty busy and the staff stays very attentive and makes sure you have what you need. The only difficult part is finding somewhere to park read more

Enjoyed our first time at Mariscos Choix. All staff, especially Andre our server made our celebration for a group of 16 one to remember. We were seated in a timely manner for our reservation at 6:15. Drinks were ordered and enjoyed by all. Andre made sure to ask about food allergies which was great as some of their salsas have nuts in them. My son has nut allergies. The food was great we ordered a variety Baja Fish Tacos, Marlin Fish Tacos, De Pulpo, Tostada de Ceviche, Tostada Mixta, Molcajete, Beef Fajitas, Shrimp and chicken nuggets for the kids and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Given we were a large group drinks and food came out in a very timely manner. After dinner, celebration desserts were brought out by the staff for my brother and parents who we were celebrating. Overall, a positive experience and would recommend a visit to Mariscos Choix. read more

I came here to meet up with a friend who lives in OC. I had zero expectations and was totally woww by this place. I came here on a weekend afternoon. It has this bar / outdoor cafe vibe to it. I ordered the tostada and my friend ordered the fish tacos, both were RAeALLy good! The seafood tastes fresh, everything was on point. There was even a live band singing songs in Spanish, which I did not expect, and it made the dining experience so much better. I would definitely recommend this place for people looking for good food and a place with good vibe. The only mini down side is the music is quite loud so it may be difficult to hear what others are saying read more

Phenomenally great service and the michilada was great ! I recommend that drink forsure very hard to beat

Cold drinks, good service, and fresh seafood. Very clean interior, turned down tulum decor with more traditional music and service. Lost my keys and Alondra gave them back after many tears and leaving this review. Parking in the alley and parking lot immediately next to it. read more

Okay the food was great! We got the campechana and cóctel de camarón y pulpo. Both were delicious and flavorful. They were not stingy with the shrimp in both. The next dish was camarones a la diabla which were also well seasoned. The sauce it is in is full of flavor. The spice level depends on your tolerance it had a slight kick but for me it was like a 4 out of 10. So mild. The last plate we got was the mojara medium well. This allowed the meat to come right off when pulled off the fish. Flavor was great too. What made this visit even better was the quality of the service by our waiter. Andres was really friendly and charismatic. What I appreciated most was that he quickly adapted to our party and communicated in both English and Spanish. The rapport that he was able to build so quickly truly made this a great experience. He checked in consistently with out making us feel like he was hovering. Definitely 5 stars for service! Ambiance is good. Music can be a bit loud at times but you are still able to hold a conversation at your table :) read more
