Shrimp tostada
Aretha V.

We saw this recommendation on tiktok and decided to try it. We got there right when they opened so it wasn't crowded but we were greeted and seated immediately and the lady that assisted us was so nice. She explained the menu and provided awesome recommendations. Geo Food to drinks we were not disappointed. The location was small but very nice and music playing in the background provided just enough that you could still concentrate on your meal. I had the shrimp tostada and my husband had the cocktail cup but the star of the day was the Cucaracha. Delish, I never do left overs but today was a day was the day was going to finish. Definitely someplace I would go back and visit again

Gobernador shrimp taco ‍

Coming from Southern California- this place has the BEST aguachiles we have ever had!!!! We got oysters too and it came with this special caldo/sauce.... OMG don't sleep on that sauce!!!!!!!!!! We got the red and green aguachiles and they were both amazing! After we demolished the aguachiles I moved on to my shrimp tacos and MMM- no leftovers. We'll be coming back soon- perfect spot for the cruda too

I've been eating this food since he started selling out of his van--and it was amazing. Then I tried it again once he upgraded to a food trailer, and honestly, I wasn't that impressed. But fast forward to the other day... wow. Probably the best mariscos in the Valley. All the flavors are distinct. Not a single dish tasted the same--which is rare for most mariscos spots, where everything tends to blur together. Not here. The torre was different from the ceviche, which was different from the cóctel. Even the limonada was crazy good. The service was great. We walked in with a group of seven. They told us it would be a 30-minute wait, but they managed to seat us in under 10 by rearranging tables to fit our group. Super accommodating. The vibe in the restaurant was perfect--great music, people talking and just having a good time. If you're looking for a quiet place to eat, I suggest getting it to go. The waitstaff were super friendly and quick on their feet. I'll definitely be coming back to this spot--no questions asked. It's officially on my must-have list in AZ. Trust me cuz yo gurl does. After falling in love with this place and coming here now on a weekly basis I'm done gate keeping cause EVERYONE needs to know how wonderful this place is!! Karla is our server most of the time and she's AMAZING! The Cucarachas are cooked perfectly and so full of flavor. My hubbie and I love spicy so if they have the "El Sinaloense" on special it's not to be missed! The BEST Mariscos in the Valley! The place does get busy but don't be afraid of the wait it's totally worth the hype! Get here ASAP!!

Monday morning after a long work week nothing I wanted more was some Tacos, Augachilies and a lemonade. Everything was amazing. The server Dulce was great, always checked on me, asked me about my week and my plans and it truly made my experience that much better. World Cup was on tv with the sound and I got to watch that as well

This was one of the best meals I've had and I would've went back the next day if I could. The aguachiles and ceviche were flavorful and delicious. The oysters were fresh and had a great taste. The whole meal with my friend was one of the best with all we ordered and I'm super happy the 50min drive was worth it. Definitely coming back

I went there for the first time with my in-laws. Didn't realize it was just down the street from my house so I've been missing out. The food is incredible. Very refresh for mariscos in the desert. Very deep menu with extra on a board inside that you would not see on the menu. The service was really good. They always come by every five minutes or so. Inside the restaurant was very nice and clean. Also very cold, which I enjoy and it's also good for the food as well. Can't wait to come back but with my wife next time.

Tostada de camarón

So the food was great here as it usually is but I was a little disappointed to see on my receipt that I was charged for chips and never told about it and that I asked for a wedge of lemon for my water and was charged for it as well $0.89 for a small wedge of lemon and $1.25 for chips I never asked for. These things are a little excessive At least let customers know what they are being charged for

Camarones Cajun

Id suggest to call in for your order of Cajun shrimp (must pay over the phone when placing order otp) because it does take about 25-30mins for them to prepare this dish. This sauce is a spicy garlic & they weren't shy of any garlic, this sauce didn't need anything added, I wish I boiled an egg to dip in this sauce . Mhmmmm I want this dish now

Hally S.

The place was packed but we waited patiently and glad we did. Food took a while but that was a good thing because they make everything fresh and made to order. I had the shrimp coctel (cocktail), the caldo mariscos (hot soup) and the Baja Fish Tacos (from the specials). Every single thing was amazing! Fresh Fresh Fresh!!!! Definitely coming back again.

Shrimp Quesadilla
Jacinta J.

This place is so cute! It is on the smaller side, but their service and food were on point! I had a shrimp quesadilla, a modelo michelada, their special lemonade, and another shrimp botana - it reminded me of a seafood boil. I meant to get a picture of the menu, but forgot. Nonetheless, the service was fast, the server was attentive, and made great recommendations - you won't regret trying.

To just leave a review I have to give them a 1 star. I walked in for lunch and requested a table for myself and for co workers who where on there way. Server refused to provide a table with more space. She said because I was the only one there at the moment. She wasn't available to provide me a bigger table. They had multiple tables open,I walked out. A different Mariscos establishment was more than happy to take our money and business. If they can't provide space don't open an establishment.

We started out with an off menu appetizer consisting of healthy sized octopus tentacles served with potatoes in a delicious sauce. Everything was tender and delicious. I was happy about the little purse hooks on the table (iykyk). The outside area, not so much. It's on the corner of a strip mall, there was some etched graffiti on the outside windows, which made you aware of the area you were in. (That's the reason for the 1 star deduction.) The place is very small! So yes, you WILL want to make a reservation. We went around 3:30 on a Friday and I would say 3/4 of the tables had reserved signs on them starting at 5pm on up. The receptionist was constantly back and forth looking at them and moving them around to make space for walk-ins. I would skip bringing your kids here. I didn't use the restroom so idk if that was nice or not. The food was fantastic! And the portions were big. The price matched the portions and quality in our opinion. It's hard to find quality food that's worth the cost lately. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. And hubby ordered a Mexican coke, and the server brought him a frosty glass for it. Everyone around us looked like they were enjoying their food. Our server was great. He chatted with us for a while when we told him about seeing the place on IG. He was grateful for the customers. But admitted, it's caused an influx of people and the 'regulars' have become annoyed. Which is understandable. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area but probably not drive that far out of our way again.

There's something so cozy and welcoming about this spot that makes it feel familiar every time we walk through the door. One of my favorite things to order here is the chilaquiles. I usually switch up the meat depending on what I'm craving, and this visit I went with chorizo. The tortilla chips have that perfect balance of crisp edges and just enough sauce to soften them without turning soggy. The chorizo adds a savory, slightly smoky richness, while the toppings bring everything together with fresh, bright flavors. It's the kind of breakfast where every bite has a little crunch, a little spice, and plenty of flavor. I also love ordering a fresh orange juice alongside my coffee--it's become part of my usual routine here. There's something about fresh OJ with a comforting plate of chilaquiles that just makes breakfast feel extra special. The service has consistently been wonderful, and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable without feeling overly formal. After all these years, Presidio Cocina Mexicana remains one of those spots I genuinely enjoy returning to. Good food, great service, and that cozy neighborhood feel that keeps you coming back.

I think I just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant!…read more The ambience here is charming. It's located in what looks like an old house, painted on the outside in a dark red paint. There are roses hanging from the ceiling, exposed brick, and colored lighting (would you notice more as the sun goes down). The wood ceilings really make this place special. There is a small bar in the corner. Don't forget to look up because there is a little door above with the guardian angel and children painted on it, and a couple of stained glass windows. From the minute we walked in, we were meeting with smiling faces. When you first walk in, you are inside the kitchen or at least right next to it. We started with a couple of drinks - a Corona and a Diablito, a sotol cocktail with lots of pureed mango. A basket of chips and a bowl of Green dip or brought to the table, and we were directed to the salsa bar back near the entrance. The salsa bar is fantastic, with several different kinds of salsa. We grabbed what tasted like a creamy tomatillo salsa, a pineapple salsa, a pico de gallo, and a creamy Serrano salsa. They were all so good that we couldn't say which was our favorite. I know that pineapple salsa just sent me over the moon! For an entree, hubby ordered a Sonoran burrito. He said the burrito was delicious, and kept pointing out how good the guacamole and side was. It wasn't especially big or small. I ordered the fajitas (steak and chicken combo) and the minute they came to the table sizzling, both my husband and I were surprised at how large this portion was. It was served with tortillas (you get your choice of corn or flour), black beans, and rice. The black beans were good - - I suppose they just tasted like black beans. I was surprised at how delicious the rice was because it's white and I expected it just to taste like white rice. But there was a creaminess to it and a flavor that I couldn't put my finger on but that I know was really yummy (butter, maybe? Cheese, maybe?? Idk). Good meat in my fajitas was super tender and the veggies were grilled just right. This was a really common really delicious meal. This place had been on my list for a long time and now that I finally been here, I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The food was fantastic, the prices super reasonable, and it's set in a cozy, romantic setting. This place is going to be on a regular rotation for us!

While I've had some phenomenal street tacos in LA and Mexico, I've been wanting to explore more of its diversity, particularly the seafood traditions! We came with a healthy appetite and ordered the Mega Molcajete, El Pulpazo, and Camarones Locos. The complimentary ceviche tostadas were a promising start! Fresh, vibrant, they immediately set my expectations high for quality and freshness of the seafood to follow. The Mega Molcajete was a showstopper. The dish arrived as an extravagant spread of grilled meats, shrimp, octopus, lobster tail, fried fish, and more. Visually spectacular, and with flavors that lived up to its presentation! El Pulpazo deserves its own praise. Octopus is notoriously unforgiving. There's a fine line between beautifully tender and unpleasantly chewy. I've had my share of disappointing renditions to know that an impressive char means very little if the texture isn't right. Fortunately, this was executed well! Fantastically seasoned, with a lovely charred exterior, and cooked to the right doneness! The Camarones Locos were another highlight! We loved the flavors of the sauce! Since we had children with us, our waitress graciously accommodated our request to serve the sauce separately to control the spice level! We also had the Mango Diablo, which provided some much-needed tropical refreshment from both the Arizona heat and the fiery kick of the dishes themselves! A few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The parking can be tricky, as the lot is rather small (we were fortunate to snag the single remaining spot in the lot). This was also not an inexpensive outing. Our bill (for the aforementioned orders above) came in just under $300 (tax and tip included). That said, I felt the experience justified the splurge!
