Lunch Regular Stromboli with onion, pepperoni and bacon.
    Reagan B.

Wow! This place is a favorite for me and my coworkers. We opt to order directly from the restaurant rather than Grubhub because the Grubhub inflation is real! But it's totally worth it to pick up because they have great daily specials! Tuesdays they have a Stromboli with three toppings special with a drink for $11.99. Or calzone with one topping for same price. I got the Stromboli and it was huge! Big enough for two meals. Super delicious and packed full of cheesy goodness. I also had a side of marinara and ranch. The ranch was GOOD. Tangy and flavorful. They also have a sub special with fries and a drink for $11.99. On Thursdays though, you can get two full size subs for $20! Wow! And there's so many sub choices. My favorite has been the chicken cheesesteak done Philly style: onions, peppers and cheese. See that packed full Sammy?????? Sooooo good. We will continue to frequent this place and I look forward to trying other menu items.

    White pizza?

I ordered 2 slices of white pizza and this is what I got. When I asked them about it they told me I needed to order pizza bianco. I guess they don't know that bianco is Italian for white. I got two regular old slices with ricotta sauce (?) squirted on top.

The one at Hanes Mall is great; the one in High Point was disappointing; had the Vegetarian pizza at each place.

It's a little set back from the main thorughfare, but now with the food hall and other development happening nearby, I passed it a couple times and got curious about it, so finally stopped in. The building, the parking lot, everything about it is in serious need of a remodel. Curb appeal certainly limited, but I didn't feel that the inside was unclean in any way. Just very old and dated. Places like this often sneakily have some of the best food, so this didn't deter me. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you, get your own drinks, which really is about all I ever want in a sandwich shop. I had the club sandwich with fries. It came on nicely grilled bread with a decent amount of cold cuts, cheese, and bacon. They subbed in honey mustard to replace the mayo as I asked. It came with a HUGE order of fries! The fries were well done, maybe a little more cooked than most would prefer, but they were perfect for me. If I had eaten them all, I would have been very full. Flavor on everything was satisfying, nothing crazy, price was pretty good as well. Overall, I think I would come back here on occasion, for those times where you need "just a lunch" where it would serve me well.

Just like dining in, they don't skimp. They pack the sandwich and the to go box full, it was more than enough for a filling and healthy lunch. Their house dressing for the salad is fantastic, maybe some sort of deviation of thousand islands(?), tasty with just a little sweetness. Highly recommend for dine in or take out!

I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.
