The cooler is always stocked with desserts and looks good but now we know. The box was dated 19 days ago. If this was the prep date, it's 12 days past its good by date - especially given the cheese in the topping/filling. It tasted pungent. No go. Another waste of $. They had fans running. I asked if there was an issue with their HVAC, and the manager told us it's out of their hands. It's their "established" owner who runs the show when it comes to building ordinance and temp. Sitting in the bar area with the air moving was perfectly comfortable. But it was a different story in the back room away from the fans and moving air, where we were first seated. If you're here in the heat of the summer, make sure to get the 5 star experience in the bar area. This is a non issue the rest of the year. We came in around 1pm, wanting to do the pizza buffet. Unfortunately, looking at what was available, it just wasn't appealing. The pizza was very cold, it needed a refresh. We expressed this to the waitress. If she had said "we'll make you a fresh pizza of whichever type you want" we'd have been game. That's not the response we got, so we moved on to hot subs. I ordered the meatball sub, my wife ordered chicken parm. The meatball was, just ok. The meatballs themselves were sliced and warm, sauce was the same I was used to from the pizza, cheese could have used more time to melt, but overall... I was OK. Her sandwich, was not good at all. She did write her own review about it, and I happen to agree. It's generally expected that ordering a chicken parm sandwich at an italian pizzeria is going to be a breaded cutlet. What was given was the shaved chicken that you would normally see if someone orders chicken on a pizza (not my thing, but to each their own). The result was very very dry chicken. The sandwich sat on her plate with two bites taken out of it for the meal duration. No prompt was given for whether we enjoyed our meal. In all, I learned my lesson that day, that this place is good for a fresh pizza. I'll only go that route in the future. The sandwiches were simply not our preference. The chicken parm needs to be rethought, or better explained as shaved chicken.

The lasagna was served hot, but it seemed to be missing some of the flavor I've come to love. Hopefully, it was just an off day. The homemade rolls were a highlight--fresh, hot, and delicious. Unfortunately, the salad was disappointing. It consisted of iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots, and I would have appreciated a little more variety, such as an olive or two. The service was just okay as well. Our server didn't return to check on us until we were nearly finished with our meal. I still have a soft spot for Lubrano's, but this visit fell short of the experience I've come to expect. I hope they return to the quality that made them my favorite spot for lasagna.
