We stopped by this place on our way to the border. It was very easy to find and had free parking in the from of the restaurant. There were quite a few restaurants in that square, and they all had very dramatic signs. This one was a bit less dramatic. The inside was pretty average and reminiscent of a diner. They had a big roll of paper on the wall above the kitchen when you enter, and it had the specials for that day written on it. The menu was a good length and they covered all the basics; dinner, lunch, breakfast, dessert, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The prices where average as well and they did have gluten free and veggie options as well, which are always a must have on the menus now. The service was ok, we were not greeted right away, but eventually seated and it took approximately 30-40 minutes to get our food. The food was plated fairly average, but tasted good. I didn't get a huge Italian vibe from the place as they had a very american breakfast menu and a big burger menu. Definitely felt more american to me read more

My go to place when we have a bit of time before going to the ferry. Usually you can catch the owners helping out front of house, and plenty of staff on hand to handle the rushes. Today's service was friendly and efficient, which was wonderful because we were going to catch a ferry afterward! Waters were refilled often and the food was piping hot when it arrived. Wombat ordered the chicken and ribs combo, which consisted of a juicy marinated chicken breast and half rack of pork back ribs, served with roasted veggies and thick cut fries. I stole a couple bites of his food, as is tradition; the fries were crispy with a fluffy interior, and the meats were not tough and chewy in the least. There was also the standard (small) amount of coleslaw served on the side. Breakfast obsessed, I originally ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles off of their specials menu but alas, it was sold out (--。)... Instead I settled for another one of the specials, a pan-seared halibut fillet with cashew butter, that came with a healthy serving of roasted veggies and rice pilaf. The fish was on point, tender and flaky, not overpowered by the cashew butter, and the rustic cuts of the roasted veg were all evenly cooked. Kudos to the kitchen! All in all, we left the restaurant happy and full, and still made it to our ferry reservation with time to spare. Thank you Miranda for taking care of us! Celiacs take note: my good friend GB, who has a severe gluten allergy, has not gotten sick from eating here. The staff are very accommodating, and do double check with the kitchen to ensure there won't be any problems. Stopped here for dinner before catching the ferry to the island. We were on a bit of a time crunch and let our server Julia know our timeline. They had piping hot food and the bill to us quickly! We had the chorizo gorgonzola Mac& cheese and the marvellous mushroom burger- both were delicious and the prices very reasonable! Had high hopes, but the experience was pretty lousy. The food was average, but the actual overall dining experience was horrible. It was a Monday at 4:20pm and there was only two other tables occupied in the restaurant. We sat for 28m before we had to ask if anyone was actually working, and if so...could we at the minimum have a glass of water? 10m later someone came and gave us some water. We ordered right then and there a half hour later we got our little pizza. Nobody bothered to check on us, or ask us if we needed anything. It was really sad. To top it off when we did finally get a waitress we were told that the person that normally waits our table hadn't started her shift yet, and that's why there was no service. Uuuuuuuuh??? Ordered a large pepperoni, mushroom and green pepper pizza with extra cheese. Picked it up but did not open the box until I got home. When I opened the box I was shocked because the top and all of the exposed crust was so badly burned. At first I did not think it was the pizza I had ordered. It looked as if it were a ground beef pizza. I phoned the restaurant to complain and I spoke with the female manager. She passed me off to a man who turned out to be the man who had taken my VISA payment and handed me the pizza box. He told me he had checked the pizza before he handed it to me and that is the way they send pizzas out. I don't believe he actually did look at the pizza. So no apology, no refund and no credit. He ended the conversation by saying "so now we are both happy." Very rude!! THIS WAS THE WORST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD!! WE WILL NEVER AGAIN EAT AT OR ORDER FOOD FROM MARIO'S KITCHEN. Mario's has always been our favourite in south delta and go to restaurants for any celebrations. But after the rudeness from the hostess that threw down the menus I don't think going forward will be our first choice. Waitress was very pleasant and sweet but first impression was horrible. My husband and I were visiting Canada for the weekend and had an Airbnb nearby. We drove around earlier in the day and saw Mario's at a little strip mall, so we decided to give it a try when dinner rolled around. We came in relatively early and it was pretty busy. We had about a 15-20 minute wait for a table, which wasn't too bad for a Friday evening. There were open tables outside with blankets! But it was still a little too chilly for me. Anyway, food - I got the seafood pasta and it was aaaaahhhhmaaazing! It was rich and don't laugh, bursting with flavor! I don't particularly like capers, but it added a nice touch. It didn't look like a big portion, but it was more than enough for me. I took home the leftovers and ate it later that night :) We also got the stuffed mushroom appetizer and that was also delicious. Enough for the two of us, maybe for three people as well. My husband got the Caroline Ribs, half rack, and he devoured it. Service was great, everyone was friendly. The space was cool, modern and hip (do people still say that? I feel old). I'm not sure if they take reservations, but I'd suggest it on a busy night if they do. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back in this area again since we live in WA, but definitely give it a try!!! read more

Just passing through, I was hungry at lunch time. I found the almost unanimous 5-star reviews here on Yelp and thought I couldn't go wrong! Sadly, I did. I had decent sandwich. The garlic chicken ciabatta. They really need to rename this the mushroom chicken ciabatta. It was very light on any garlic taste and was loaded with mushrooms. If you absolutely love mushrooms, then yes, this is the sandwich for you. See photo. Mushrooms make up more of the sandwich than the chicken did. I pride myself on the ability to eat even the wiliest of sandwich without dropping any of it, but the big old pile of mushrooms just couldn't get any friction on the chicken. It's all on a little ciabatta so you can't get leverage on the sides either, unless you white knuckle it to keep it from falling apart. I saw the waitress to order. She delivered my order. I did not see her again until I flagged her down to get the bill. I had a soda that went empty by the time I was on the second half of my sandwich. That soda would have went really well with those salty fries, but I was dry. I would have flagged her down for a refill, but I did not see her anywhere again between the delivery of the food and when I got the bill. I have no idea where she went. I'll give two stars because it looked nice, the fries were really great and the sandwich was almost good, but really this was a one star experience. read more

This place makes a solid gluten free burger. With a tastey actual, honest-to-goodness bun. I think the rest of the food seems good too, I'm just so burger-focused when I go. Certainly a lot of choice in gluten free land. Also the staff are all, without fail super friendly and professional. Feels like a pricier place than it actually is. We got here at around 8 on a Saturday night. There's plenty of free parking which was great. They have a nice outside patio with string lights, perfect for a summer's night. The inside ambiance was beautiful as well, very nice and romantic. The food though! My goodness. The menu is HUGE so I wasn't expecting much quality from the meals we ordered. HOWEVER, the meals were so good and flavourful. They have a large variety of pizzas, pastas, burgers as well as fancy entrees. They also have a whole bunch of different order sizes depending on how hungry you are. I ordered the smaller portion of the Baked Tortellini Monterey, I substituted the pesto sauce for alfredo sauce and the Caesar salad for garlic mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the full size of the Tortellini di Casa. The food was packed with tons of flavour and came out piping hot and fresh. The service was also spectacular. Sold, bought back and now sold again! Great things seem to be happening at Mario's and it isn't just some new paint on the walls. Because of issues I was having, I decided to cut gluten from my diet and I've been at a stand still trying to figure out what I might be able to eat. I heard through the grapevine that Mario's is now serving up GF options, so I headed over to take a look. Not only do they offer them, they're highlighted by GF icons! How perfect. They currently offer up one GF pasta, varieties of chicken, salmon dishes and their pizza can be made with GF dough. If I were able to eat dairy I would be all over that pizza. After the numerous times I've visited and ordered delivery from Marios, I feel like it's appropriate to now leave a review. My conclusion? The best restaurant in Tsawwassen by far. Marios is a family-run business that offers a large, diverse food and drink menu. They offer sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and so much more. I gotta say, I've never had one bad meal from here. Ive tried numerous dishes on their menu, my favourites being the Franks Chicken Burger (deep-fried chicken dipped in Franks hot sauce in between a yummy bun) and the BBQ Texan salad (BBQ chicken tossed in a mixed green salad with corn, tortilla chips, cheese and salsa). They also have an awesome wine selection, for all you wine connoisseurs. What I love about this restaurant is how awesome their staff is. Everyone from their delivery drivers, to their servers, and their owners are lovely. Whenever you come in, you see Darren (the owner) working hard serving drinks, bussing tables, delivering food and more, and to me I think is what helps them be so successful. If you're passing by, coming off or heading to the ferry, this is a great place to grab a bite. read more

We ordered 2 days worth of food for our Covid isolation time. Delicious! The burgers were great, the pasta was perfect, loved the garlic bread. But the best of all for me was the goat cheese salad- fantastic. The food was delivered in about 1.5 hours, which was fine because I had seen that time estimate online before ordering, so we planned accordingly and the food arrived 2 minutes before the eta on the email. The service was pretty good, we went around lunch on a weekday so we were able to pick between outdoor or indoor seating. For how slow it was when we went I was a bit surprised that it took so long to get our food but the wait was worth it! I ordered the lasagna di casa.....hmmmmmmmmmm so cheesy and the meat sauce was so delish. To finish our food off right we ordered dessert, Rolo ice cream pie.
