A staple in the Tsawassen restaurant scene, but I'm pretty sure they have changed overs (and are part of the Gracie's Next Door team). The location is on the main strip of Tsawassen and is pretty trendy. Their is outside seating (including blankets and a small fire pit). They also take reservations which is a bonus. We came early on a Friday. My sister loves this place and I definitely preferred her dish to mine. I got their soup of the day ($6.50 for a cup). The serving and presentation was beautiful. The soup was roasted cauliflower with smoked cheddar. It was not at all what I excepted. It was brown and thick/lumpy and flavorless. They also don't have salt or pepper at the table (but their servers offer freshly grated parm). I also go a small pizza (feta, spinach, onion). That was $18.99 and again, mediocre. The sauce was flavorless but their crust was nice and crispy. The spinach didn't taste overly fresh either. My sister got their Backed Tortellini with Alfredo. Safe to say we are regulars at Mario's! Great T-town fav for sure. They have great specials often highlighting local fare, as well as pizzas, pastas, wings, calamari, you name it. Very much a fan of this spot. On birthdays they'll top a mudslide with a sprinkler which is a blast, but definitely stinks a bit I highly recommend the burgers (Mondays is BOGO) or any of their specials - we bring friends and family here often. Very disappointed this time round. I have not been there for quite a while. I blame it on Covid and the price hike after it. The restaurant is beautifully done. More towards the upper scale side of restaurants. After a long afternoon working I was invited out to Mario's. It was busy and took a little longer to get our drinks. The waiter was attentive up to the serving of the food. All the waiters chip in to bring the food to the table. That is great. Now to the food. It was rib night, a full set of ribs for the cost of their half rib. 2 of us had the rib special, a chicken pesto pizza and a salmon dish. I was told the salmon dish was excellent and that's where it ended. The chicken pesto pizza was overcooked to the point that it was just starting to burn. Lots of black on top of the pizza. It wasn't great. My ribs came cold, not out of the fridge cold but like it had been sitting on the plate for 10 to 15 minutes. Very Luke warm at best. Definitely not worth the full price. The vegetables were well over cooked. You didn't need teeth to eat them. Substandard from this place. The other set of ribs came above warm. Had the waiter come to ask how my ribs were I would have sent them back. I never saw him until we were finished. Even the owner walked by us and didn't say anything. He usually stops to make quick chat at each table but not this time. There are better places to get pizza and more reasonably priced. read more

We've been to this restaurant a few times for pizza while passing through tsawwassen. We usually go to the Greek restaurant Alpha Greco which is located next door, but have popped in here a few times just to change things up. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, great beer selection with beers on draft, and a good menu. The only downside is that the pizza isn't great. It's basically the same low quality filler food that you get from the fly-by-night 2 for 1 pizza shops that cater to the bar crowd. You can tell that it's made from low quality ingredients and it lacks flavor. The crust is not good, the sauce is bland, the toppings are low quality, and there is about 1/3 the amount of cheese that a pizza like this should have on it. We've had multiple pizzas here and have consistently received the same thing. When we want pizza, we'll be headed next door to Alpha Greco, where they use a ton of very high quality ingredients and tons of cheese. Much better Pizza over there for sure. read more

Mario's Kitchen is a gorgeously furnished large scale restaurant located in the heart of Delta. Food style and vibes are that of a typical Cactus/Earls experience so forgive me if I start making comparisons between the two . As the bf had recently moved to Delta, we decided to explore the food scene and stumbled upon the Mario's/Gracie's chain through Google search. Sadly, it was a rainy day so we didn't have the chance to sit on their gorgeous heated/covered patio but there will definitely be a future visit! Since it was happy hour, we ordered onion rings, spinach/artichoke dip, and the chicken quesadilla. For a cheap $6-$9 per item, the portions were generous. We were stuffed to the brim and had leftovers to say the least. The onion rings were typical, crunchy good texture. I quite enjoyed the chicken quesadilla as it was stuffed with a lot of peppers (I like my veggies ) and cheese, delicious! The dip flew fine with the bf but I personally found myself missing Earl's version which features a much moister dip with chunks of artichoke. This one is definitely a drier style of dip with melted cheese on top. For mains, we shared the linguine santorini which features a nice tomato wine sauce and spicy garlic chicken. Boyfriend found it was in fact, not spicy at all but nothing a tabasco sauce couldn't fix! Once again, portion was impressive! We both overall thought that the pasta was nothing special but none the less a pleasant size for when you're hungry and needing a friendly priced meal. Service was good, I know this is a small home owned business but it really felt like a big restaurant chain with consistent food, diverse menu, and good vibes. Ordered at Mario's during the lockdown, I love how they packed all the foods, as it came hot and ready to eat, foods were terrific, plenty serving and so tasty; my favourite was the cajun chicken Alfredo linguine, it s so cheesily, creamy and flavoursome. Wings were on point for the spiciness and crispness. Maybe just the salad that I did not like much the sweetness of the dressing. I prefer when ordering though to call instead of online, they do have a page where you need to register first before ordering, it did consume time registering a bit. Oh wow! I got the beef bourguignon. It was incredible, the waitress and I debated over menu options before I took this risk. I was halfway done and remembered to get a photo. We stopped by over the weekend for lunch. We were seated after a short wait. Menus and water were dropped off. They have large menu so there is something for everyone to enjoy. We ordered a mac & cheese kid's meal, French onion soup, penne pacifico and calamari. The kid's meal included a drink and ice cream. The kid's meal was served first as requested. It was more than enough food to feed a toddler. Fries were included as a side. I enjoyed my French onion soup. There was a decent amount of cheese. I wish there were more onions. The calamari was a touch soggy. It was alright, but I have had better. I took a bite of the penne pacifico and it was creamy with lots of seafood. Service was great. Our server stopped by regularly and tried to make some small talk conversation when we were paying. read more

I was here pretty late, closer to 2 pm, on a Sunday and found out brunch was still being served. Yay! Brunch was till 3 pm, which was good to know. I was not that hungry and decided on the classic eggs benedict. That was really good. The eggs were perfectly poached, with runny yolk FTW. The highlight was the hash. It was seasoned with something garlicky? I was not sure but it reminded me of those garlic parmesan fries. And every single piece of the potato bit was crispy. I loved that! I also had the mimosa with mango since it was Sunday brunch. Yums. I saw many tables ordering the pizza which looked really good too. Maybe I will have that next time. Service was fine and waitresses were friendly, but the food was... just mediocre. The beef bourguignon was very good, but everything else, desserts included, were just subpar. The beef burgers had that McDonalds frozen patty smell and texture, and out of three very hungry people, not one could take more than one bite of it. Dropped family off at the ferry. Needed a place for lunch and Yelp came to the rescue. Found Mario's kitchen. Restaurant was kinda dark inside unless you were seated on the patio. We had Garlic chicken ciabatta and Rueben on rye. Both sandwiches were great. Service was very good. Great washrooms. Really good variety on the menu. Well, I tried. I thought, give it another go. So, I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken burger. They no longer offer curly fries, and the burger no longer has tzatziki sauce, but some kind of reddish mayo. Sigh. I got the Greek salad, which is an additional 5.95, mostly because I thought who could possibly muck up Greek salad? Cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, green pepper, and a couple of olives on top for those who love olives. Was that what I got? Ummmm, sort of. Tomatoes - fine, cucumber - fine, red onion? Welp, if you like a very rough chop and loads of onion stuck together. Usually, red onion is finely sliced, and separated so each bite gets a sliver of flavour. Red onion can be quite overwhelming when it's rough chopped, so not a fan. The most egregious error were the olives, which WERE finely sliced and mixed into the salad! Oh lord, NO! These are an acquired taste for people. That's why you leave them whole on top! I had to pick through the entire salad to remove the offending bits. I also removed the red onion, and the green pepper. I can't stand green pepper, but that's usually not a big deal for me. I bade a sad farewell to the red onion, as I just can't take it when it's overwhelming the dish. But the olives! Oh the olives...why God? WHY?!? What sicko does that? I've attached a photo to show you how much I had to remove. It's pathetic. The sides left as options are pretty pathetic, too. Caesar salad, yam fries, green salad, or the tragic Greek salad. All of these sides have been tried by me, and all found pretty, bloody lacking. Tsawwassen has so few viable options for delivery, and I'm going to have to give up on Mario's again. Looking for the best burger in the PNW, the place showed up on the radar. It's a bit west of the Peace Arch border crossing, but worth the drive. When you walk into the restaurant, the ambiance has the steakhouse feel to it. It's upscale and with a dark wood interior. The staff is prompt, and care about your visit checking in on how you're doing. I ordered the Old Style Bacon & Cheddar burger. I was able to order a Ceaser salad instead of fries for $2.95 upcharge. I ordered a diet coke for a drink and enjoyed the comfort of the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes for the meal to come out. The server added some fresh parmesan cheese and pepper to the salad, upon request. The burger had a fresh taste to it. I usually like a burger to have a higher fat content that makes it much juicier. The bacon was thick and the cheddar had a nice bite to it. Overall, the salad was very good, the burger was above average. The small diet coke was never refilled, nor asked by the server to refill it. She did mention they do have free refills when ordered. They bring the card machine to your table and watch as you enter in the tip, a bit awkward feeling. I gave a 20% tip, as that seems to be customary. I wouldn't normally when they don't refill your drink. The tipping machine added the tax as the subtotal and increased the overall tip. With the cost of the burger, drink, and upcharge of the salad, it came out to $28.58. A bit high for a burger lunch. It is a nice place, and the service was par. Something to visit with a friend if you want a nice lunch. read more

My friend and I came to do some shopping at Tsawwassen mills and thought of eating some good food after. An acquaintance had mentioned Mario's a while back and am so glad we came here! Honestly, I have absolutely no complaints. Their service was prompt, food was delicious, ambience was great! We ordered the lighter portion of Baked Tortellini Monterey and Virginie Back Ribs. It was by far THE BEST ribs I have ever had! I usually prefer to stick to poultry and seafood since I find red meat to be too chewy and heavy, but these ribs literally fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. Came here as a place to catch up with some friends. One of the group members suggested the place as a favourite of theirs. Apparently, it is very popular with foodies and instagram accounts, however, I will admit that I have never heard of it before. We visited on a Monday night - not what one thinks as a popular day to eat out. But the restaurant was decently packed and we had to wait quite a while to be seated. So long apparently, that my group and the 2 other groups waiting were all offered a small slice of cheese pizza as we waited. That's certainly a nice touch and kept our hungry bellies quiet for a short while. As a matter of fact, regarding service, everything was slow. Slow to be seated, slow to get our food (almost 30 minutes), and even slow to get our check! So for the service I took off one star. The food was yummy. When I looked over the menu, the first thing that caught my eye was the Baked Tortellini Monterey. It was as delicious as it sounded! And leftovers tasted just as good for lunch the next day. Yes, I still had leftovers even though I ordered the lighter portion! My friend ordered the fried chicken burger...so of course it was good. We all agreed the fried tasted similar to Whitespot fries. And my friends pasta, while also a lighter portion, seemed even larger in portion size -which is nice:) So, while the food is good, the wait for everything is not going to make this place a regular for me.
