Place has good deals and a good selection of furniture and other stuff you need to upgrade or set up your domicile. I recently got my own apartment and was able to completely furnish my new place just like I wanted it to be with new furniture at a considerably lower price than most other places. I initially went there for a sofa and found just about everything else I needed there all in one place. The owner was very helpful and further discounted my total when I added additional items from their stand alone price of the items if bought individually! By the time I had finished, I ended up getting my entire apartment furnished without having to go anywhere else! I got the best sofa ever too. I am so happy with it; a large sectional very comfortable couch and divan and foot rest. I also found the perfect barstools I needed, some very custom lamps and lighting, end tables that are uniquely asthetic, my mattresses, sheets, pillows, bedspread and comforter, all a matching colour and theme for my bedroom. Full sized rugs and floor coverings to match, for every room and walkway I needed. And a dresser for my clothes, and a perfect small chair and automin for the bedroom that match the bedroom theme and color. There was a great recliner and another sofa combination I would have been happy to have taken, but alas my new apartment only had ONE livingroom and ONE bedroom, and I was out of rooms to furnish! And so my empty new apartment was complete. I got everything in one place and paired with appropriate matching accessories I was certain would go well together, at a further discounted total price, and delivered the next day for a very small delivery fee which I couldn't have done myself anyways. I didn't have to lift or pick up or unload anything; all I had to do was say: "put it there,...and put it there,...and over there, ..and there, ...and those go in the bedroom,..in there, and that goes in the kitchen, ...and THANK YOU Marini's for everything and all your help... I couldn't have done it without your help. And when I realize whatever else I might need also, I'll be sure I check with Marini's first before I go anywhere else! I am so happy I shopped Marini's before anywhere else! Been six months since moving in now and I still love everything I got from Marini's, ... hence I'm writing this praising review to tell others to consider shopping Marini's before anywhere else first! You won't regret checking out what they have before you buy something from somewhere else, then find out you should have gone to Marini's first, instead,... where the selection is bigger and the prices are lower, and you can put everything together under one roof so you see and know it all works and goes well together, before you buy it. Upon entering this place they were playing Christmas music on a speaker which was for sell. I thought this was cool, but a bit loud. I noticed they had a very cheap sofa on clearance out in the front, it was missing its entire arm, and I thought to myself who would buy something like this? In the store, it reminded me of a thrift store, except with newer stuff and unused. The prices seem to go up and down on items. A lot of their shoes look like they are coming from JC Penny because they are that Ann brand. They seemed way over priced for what they were. On the other hand they had these large washable rugs for your floor for $20. Some of the couches seemed nice and reasonably priced. Then all of the sudden I pick up a candle and it's $20? Why? Absolutely amazing experience! We came in looking for a couch and left feeling so taken care of. The owner, his wife, and his nephew were incredibly kind and hands-on--helping us load everything into the car without hesitation. On top of that, he even threw in a rug, which was such a generous surprise. When we realized the couch might not fit in our vehicle, the owner immediately offered to help us strap it to the top of our van if we had straps. That level of customer service is rare these days. I got a smokin' deal on a massage chair and couldn't be happier! This is the nicest family-run discount store since the new owners took over. This place is a total gem now, as Clayton area has really needed a better alternative to Heroic down further on Clayton Rd. You can tell the new owners care a lot about the place as it's so much more organized and cleaner than it used to be while keeping the deal bin vibe it used to have. I love stopping by Marini's Discount whenever I'm in Concord. The new team has really turned things around. You can tell they have knowledge and experience in the industry, and they're doing their best to improve the shopping experience. The store feels cleaner, more organized, and much easier to browse now. The staff are friendly and approachable, and I've noticed the shelves are stocked with a great variety--household goods, kitchenware, seasonal items, toys, clothing--all at prices way lower than the big chains. I think some of the bad reviews are probably from people passing through who didn't really see the changes happening. From my experience, things are on the upswing, and it shows every time I visit. Stay away! The new owners are WORSE than the previous owners. I recently purchased a portable neck fan from one of the Amazon return bins. The guy helping me told me "to hang on to the receipt in case it didn't work." I tried using it when I got home and the back fan was broken. So I took it back, as the man working there had suggested. He was annoyed, but appeared to refund the money back to my credit card. The credit showed as pending on my account the next day so I, (stupidly) threw away the receipts. Big mistake. The credit stayed as pending for another day and then suddenly disappeared. I called my bank and was told the credit had been "reversed," and there was nothing they could do. In general, this place is dirty, disorganized, and just one big mess. The return bins are supposedly Amazon returns but, given the owners' overall sleaziness, I have my doubts. Whatever is in there, it's nothing but junk. Digging through there can be hazardous as there are numerous loose and broken parts that could poke or cut you. If you do find something, please make sure to test it before purchasing. The other items in the store are way over priced for a discount store, particularly the self-care items like lotions, sunscreen, makeup, etc. You can find the same items for cheaper at Grocery Outlet, Walmart, or even at CVS if you have coupons. read more

The selection seems to be worse with the new ownership. It used to be a hit or miss before but now it's seems to really be consistently a miss. The items are really just broken items and the household items are over priced, higher than Ross or Marshals. I went in just to "look" and ended up with so many bargains I couldn't pass... I even ended up going back to buy a sofa I had seen. They had a great variety of items: clothes, gadgets, small appliances, and yes... even some furniture. I saw a news article about this place and decided to check it out. When we arrived, we learned that the Saturday deal was $11 for anything in the bin. We quickly learned that, that certainly was not a discount. Most of the items that were in the bin were worth $5 or less. It had clothes, shoes, and other items you could buy at the dollar tree or the dollar section at Target. We saw an item that we liked and asked how much it was and they told us $11. When we made it to the register to pay, one worker said it was $11 and the other worker said "are you sure? Look at this item" and then they changed their mind and said it was $50. We also asked for prices of other items like the AirPods, which cost more than what I could buy at Wal Mart. We showed them the price we found online and they insisted on their price. We also got a mystery box, as the other reviewer mentioned, filled with trash (literally) and empty boxes of nonexistent items. There were other items too, but that's the gamble. Don't waste your time coming here. You could buy items for a comparable price elsewhere new and an option to return to the seller if it is damaged or doesn't work. read more

Love the attention to the customers. Staff is kind and always offers a fair price and great deals in the bins. They take their time to help us open sealed boxes to make sure we are happy with the product and to make sure there is no broken or missing pieces before we pay. I have never left this store with nothing in hand. They always have something worth making the 40 minute drive for. I love going to Marinis. My best friend lives in Concord and has been bin shopping here for almost 2 years and about 1.5 months ago they got new owners. I stayed at my friend's house for 4 days and 3 of those days we went to Marinis! my friend told me that you can tell the new owners are really trying to fix things up. I even got to speak to her. I suggest you give them a chance. She was sooo nice and working hard to turn it around and get the word out. I got some amazing stuff. Lots of clothes that still have tags. $3 dresses and shirts. Before, you had to dig in the bins for the clothes but now they are all hung up to browse through them easily. I also got a brand new LED face mask for $6 that normally sells on Amazon for over $100. I got a bunch of things for my dog, a light up mirror that also has a side that magnifies for $19. I looked on Amazon and it retails for $40. I got a long parca for $10 that Target had for $60!! Unfortunately the 1 star reviews are true. They used to have high quality items when they first opened up. I'm writing this review to warn others that the majority of items in the bins are either broken or have missing parts. There are very few items that are in somewhat good condition. The items on the shelves are not worth the money. My friend bought a speaker from here that didn't even work so you're taking a risk and spending your hard earned money on something that will either work or don't work. read more
