If I could give a negative star I would. The staff here is crazy! Some old lady literally followed right behind my mother and I acting like we were going to steal something. I was trying to purchase her a nice birthday gift but felt like I was being stalked the whole time. She was literally a couple feet behind us the whole time walking through the store. We've never stolen anything in our lives and didn't appreciate her evil eyeing us the whole time. She didn't say a word, just stared and followed every step. I could feel her breath at times she was so close. I found a couple cute things but decided they didn't deserve our business. We went and spent our money elsewhere. I won't be back! Beware! Been going here for years. Gary and Albert always gave top dollar and great service. Sad to say my last experience was the worst. The female behind the desk was rude from the time my friend and i walked in, until we walked out. More important though, i had 3 14k chain, 1 14k earring total weight 19.9. Upon walking in, this place does not look like a consignment store as it is very large and beautifully decorated with the consigned pieces and stands out as a showroom. There are a lot of great high end pieces at this store, but the prices are VERY high compared to the other stores I have been to. They have a great collection of jewelry pieces, some high end Cartier and Baccarat crystals, and a great selection of chairs. Seller Beware! this business will lie to you and offer bottom dollar to get your valuables. After winning a sterling flatware set at an estate auction, I brought it in to this business who offered me melt value for the silver. as I was shopping around, i was told by many businesses that they would pay the most for the set, and due to prior dealings, I brought the set in, and accepted the offer they made. fast forward a few days, and i found their sterling page on their site. I text the owner confronting him about the offer, realizing he set up a pretty payday for himself as he seems to have been sold out of any flatware for quite some time. he responded with anger and told me to take the rest of my estate goods elsewhere. I find this behavior to be incredibly shady. I even gave him the option and opportunity to fix the damage as I know we humans make mistakes. After years of being a faithful client, I have a story to tell: years ago, I brought in a sapphire, platinum, diamond necklace to sell. I was told that I had been duped because the sapphire wasn't real. I was very disappointed and sold the necklace to them for much less than I paid for it. Years later and after many transactions with them, I see a "similar" necklace and was told "Oh, we've had this for years." I used to come here all the time but now, not so much. All the good people are gone. They hired all new staff within this past year and they don't really know customer service. I purchased multiple diamond studs from here in the past and would go routinely get it cleaned with the ultrasonic in the back. When I asked for them to clean it today, the workers just looked at me funny as if I dont belong or can't afford anything in the store. The lady looked very long at my earrings and when she took it to get it cleaned, she used a toothbrush with the jewelry solution. There was no shine. I could have done that at home. The owner of this place is a liar, a scammer, and a thief! I came in to have a necklace resized. He didn't take a single measurement, just estimated visually. When I picked up the necklace, I realized it was too tight. I asked him to fix it and he told me, "that will be another $80." So this scammer wanted to make more $$ off of his careless, shoddy work. I passed on his ungenerous offer. On top of all that, after I left, I discovered that about 4 pearls and part of the chain were missing from the resizing effort. I came back and demanded he give them back to me, and without any acknowledgement or apology, he returned them to me. I've driven past this place tons of times and always wanted to check it out. Don't let the name fool you - when I hear estate consignment I often think of grandmas stuff she left after she passed away. Happily, this is not the case. Basically it's quality and unique used furnishings and jewelry. It's probably worth pointing out a few things about how these stores work so you know what to expect. First the inventory. IKEA, department stores, etc they all sell basically the same styles - plain, muted, non-offensive types of pieces. If you want something unique but don't have a budget for designer pieces a place like this is a welcome compromise. So if you come here looking for a cheap Swedish bookshelf for your shared apartment- probably not the right place for you. Now pricing. Consignment- this means by definition I am holding for sale a good that is owned by another party. So in all reality- the owner thinks his or her piece is worth let's say $100. The store has to add something to that to pay for its expenses. But usually sellers are optimistic about what their stuff is worth and the shop owner may have to warehouse these items for a long time before they sell. Bottom line this is not a thrift store. You should expect to pay prices between department stores and designers for unique pieces. If you want a custom modern designer orange leather space chair - a designer will charge you $5k for it as an art piece. To get one from this place slightly used for $995 is a great deal in that co text. However if if your idea of epic decor consists of a POANG chair from Ikea this isn't really the right fit for you. We bought a ring and some decorative figures for the house. The lady offered to put the ring through the cleaning machine so it would look bright and shiny. Overall they were pleasant and kind. It's a small business people. Please try to appreciate what it is they are trying to do. They could easily rent space in Lafayette and triple the prices and make more money but they are here serving our neighborhoods. We need healthy small businesses like this around - it helps all of us economically. read more

Upon entry, a security guard sits at a podium. Wow! There must be some treasures to behold in this place! The podium has a posted sign that states no photos are permitted. WEIRD. I usually prefer taking photos of items I'm interested in, but that's okay. I got over it. It's a spacious store, but certainly NOT all high end. They didn't have any designers in stock like Karl Springer, Milo Baughman or Baker to my knowledge. In fact, there's a lot of NEW decor throughout this space, specifically objects, which was my primary focus of the day. Not sure if the glass was authentic murano or not. I walked by an Asian looking woman behind the jewelry case, who stared at me in a super pretentious manner and proceeded to watch me as if I were some kind of thug casing the place. Didn't bother me, but I'm sure it would make some uncomfortable. This review is for an experience I had several years ago... I spoke with a very nice lady about consigning some 18k - 22k jewelry. She was super helpful and explained the process in detail. A week later, I brought in my jewelry to consign. On that day, I was directed to deal with a very condescending and irritating man. He hemmed and hawed and told me it wasn't worth it for him to consign my jewelry but..... maybe he would buy it from me and "try" to sell it, blah, blah blah. I was in a hurry and was thrown off by this news and just went ahead with his suggestion - selling my jewelry to him. After a few days of mulling over this obnoxious bait and switch episode, I realized that I was ripped off. I was paid a pitiful amount for some extremely beautiful and intricate high-gold content bracelets. My fault that I did not walk away. Their fault for cheating me! read more

This place really holds some unique treasures. I have been coming here periodically for the last few years, and I have pretty much always come across something that has tickled my fancy. It's large, spacious, and offers items priced somewhat reasonable, to a little overly expensive. My only complaint would be, which is something I do agree with other yelpers on, is the lack of friendly customer service. With all the times I have been in here, I cant really recall any warm welcomes or accommodations from the people working here. I did however, receive a friendly greeting from a gentlemen dressed in jeans at the front of the store. I believe he was a host? Perhaps to assist with the loading of large furniture items? Anyhow, he had a genuine demeanor about him and provided a warm welcome when I entered. Overall, if I find something of my interest that I can afford, most likely I will purchase it. I will also probably continue to come back, being I am there for the home goods not the people. But it would be a pleasure for the store to be equipped with some more approachable service. read more

My feelings on Estates Consignments are mixed. They have VERY high-end merchandise and it is all in very good condition. However, the prices are unreasonable. For an example, I know cameras, and I know how much I can buy many camera makes for. On one trip they had an Argus 'brick', an old rangefinder camera from the 1950s. Those can typically be had, with the case, in working condition for $25-35, depending on the location and seller. Theirs was $75. Nothing fancy -- no specifically rare camera, just an expensive old brick. As another example, they had an all-teak table set. Very nice. $9,500. Now, could I afford $10K for a dining room table and six seats, in a heartbeat I would have bought it because it was a fantastic item. So in short, this store's target audience seems to be the very wealthy looking for something a few dozen steps up from Ikea. read more
