I pass this place often on my way to 24 Hour Fitness and finally had the chance to stop in last Sunday. It's got a beautiful mix of antique, vintage and vintage inspired wares from a variety of sellers. I saw so many unique paintings, decorations and even furniture that was reasonably priced. Super friendly staff who welcomed us in, pointed out how they are set up and encouraged us to look around. New items come in regularly, I believe. On the day I visited, I had in a mind a particular sized painting-either framed or canvas for a certain wall space. They didn't happen to have it, but I saw plenty of other beautiful decorations that my budget, right now, won't allow for. If you are looking to add a bit of vintage charm to your home, stop here first. They have a beautiful selection, great prices and are a wonderful local business to support! read more

Really friendly folks with shabby, funky, rusty antique/vintage items. Enjoyed my visit and found some very interesting unique items. I deduct one star because I have been in the antique design industry for 8+ years with an Etsy store of my own. I also work at an antique store in Pacheco..... so I have some background knowledge here. No fault to the gals helping me but I was told discounts are not often given and when I asked about two pieces totaling roughly $50 ($28+$19) a $3 discount was given. That's less than tax. Again the gals working cannot control the dealer pricing HOWEVER competition is steep. When I can and did find similar items online and it cost less to buy and SHIP to me... perhaps the dealers should take that into account and price fairly. I recognize they are paying Walnut Creek rent for their space but folks won't continue to "shop local" if prices are obnoxiously higher than online. That being said the painted furniture prices are outstanding the work is really well done. read more

I found this perfect black buffet table for a corner space featured on craigslist, but it looked even better in person. The refurbishing job was great! When my bf and I arrived, they were having a little wine and hors d'oeuvres event that Saturday with a raffle every 15 minutes. Everyone in the store was in good spirits including other customers. The sales associates were very helpful. We indulged in some of their gourmet snacks and browsed the shop for anything else to embellish our home with. I saw a lot of antique stuff like vessels for perfume, bar accessories, art, jewelry and more decor. Shabby Creek is like a retro Home Goods with unique, special pieces. Whoever Kara is, she does a fine job refurbishing the furniture with faux finishes and finding cute vintage trinkets in the store. I wish this store were closer. It's definitely worth the trip from the Peninsula if something strikes your fancy! read more

You all must have been asked or paid to write a review. This is an unacceptable and not realistic review of this establishment. Let me explain. Shabby Chic was once a fun, upbeat, friendly unique store. I shopped their frequently for 5 years. When the place sold I was open minded and I visited for 3 months, a couple of times each month. Finding that the pizzazz was gone, it was not the same. The people are mean and not helpful and the inventory is blah nothing special or unique. I am sorry to be blunt, but after my last visit I will not return, this is not a friendly store. I really wonder why there are so many great reviews. I hesitated to write a review until I visited a bunch of times. It is always the same rude people working their. Unfortunately I can not give it a negative -1. Stay clear of this unless you like bitter, mean sales people that like to ignore you. Hope this prevents you from a horrific experience. read more

After weeks of looking for used desks at local thrift stores, I stumbled into here. I didn't know what to expect. They actually had quite a few desks to choose from. I didn't need a big desk. They had both larger sized desks and medium sized desks. They have all kinds of cute little things. Some stuff was expensive and a lot was very reasonably priced. I found a refurbished, mid-sized desk at a very reasonable price. I bought it and had to come back later after I cleaned out my van. The employees helped me load it in and I was off. Once home, I fit it into the little corner I had picked out for it and set up all my computer stuff, photography stuff and my color consulting stuff. After a few weeks though, the desk started slowly falling apart. Yes, the outside had a nice new paint job and the the drawer pulls were all clean. The inside was another matter. There were no repairs done to the joints or dove tails. The face of one of the drawers completely came off one afternoon. This made me kind of regret the price I did pay for it. Ive had to have it repaired at least 5 times since buying it. If your'e looking for furniture definitely really look at the item your'e buying first. Id come back again if in the market for a unique gift or something old to decorate with. read more

I have shopped at Shabby Creek on Main for over 5 years. I used to love it. Unfortunately I will not be back. My last couple of visits, were not good. My last visit was horrific. The beautiful pieces I had always admired have been replaced with cheap quality items. If I want vintage inspired, I can go to hobby lobby. The store was cluttered, dirty and worst of all the ladies working were rude. They just gossiped amongst themselves. There was not another customer in the store, and still no one could be bothered to acknowledge me. Walking from the parking lot to my car was a disgusting mess by their garage cans. Great place for antique furniture. One of the antique stores we have been too with a good selection of furniture. My husband and I have been to many antique shops but most of them have been just knick knacks and old household goods. We've had a hard time finding a store with furniture. My husband and I have been here multiple times looking for a dresser from our home. The first time it was for our guest room and the second time was for our nursery. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to purchase anything. The antique style just didn't really match our decor and we wouldn't be able to get the furniture up our staircase. But each time we have gone to this store there are different styles and new pieces to look at. They also have a good variety, from French provincal to rustic country to early 60s/70s. The staff is also very friendly. They were welcoming and wager to give us suggestions on items they thought we would be interested in. Each time we came, we found an item that we were considering and the staff let us know up front that they would be willing to negotiate on the price. Maybe one day we will find something that would be a good fit for our home. read more

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! When I step into this store, I feel like I have died and gone to heaven. It is filled with so many vintage, re-purposed, and antique one of a kind items. To see everything would take over an hour (and it is not a big store). The last time I was there, a woman happily commented to me that it was sensory overload - lol! There is a comforting feel about being in the store - it literally transports you. I do stop by frequently, and am surprised at how many new items have been added between my visits, and sadly, how many great things I was tempted to buy are gone. If you see something you like, you really need to purchase it, or it will probably be gone when you come back. The items I have purchased included a beautiful picture of a scene in Paris (where I was born) and a couple china plates to add to my mixed china place settings. Items I wish I had purchased but were gone when I came back: a three-tiered wooden tray and a couple different wooden wall art pieces that had sayings on them. A few interesting pieces: cake plate stands/soap dishes made from china plates and crystal candle holders (beautiful!) and name place holders made from antique salt and pepper shakers and wire. The store is filled with items from multiple vendors, so pricing will range from very-well priced to perhaps a little over-priced. Most of the furniture is very reasonably priced considering how much work went into repurposing it. Good selection of furniture, jewelry, wall art, china, decorator items, linens, etc. Although I have never indulged when I have been there, they have had coffee, popcorn, cookies, or some other kind of treat available to customers (most likely for the poor husbands that have been dragged in there). The ladies that work there are nice and ask if you need help, but will let you look on your own as well. The only downside to this store is they are only open Th-Sun. I was able to get a great tiffany-style lamp for 60 bucks (normally they're double or triple that cost) and a cute little side table. The ladies went out of their way to fit that side table in my tiny car. Bonus! They offer free coffee and doughnuts and apparently their stock rotates a lot. I'll be back. read more

This is my favorite Home Decor store in Walnut Creek! They have a great selection of furniture, handmade items, gifts, collectibles and vintage pieces. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable to what's on the store floor at the time if your looking for something particular and since the inventory is forever coming and going, you can go in there weekly/monthly and there will be tons of great new stuff. I also follow them on Facebook to see posts on new inventory and events that's usually posted weekly. Updating my review to remove a star. Prices seem higher in there recently, and I notice less turn over of products maybe due to price increases. Can be hit or miss but the ladies are always friendly and helpful and there's a great turn over of items. Recently items haven't been priced so they have to call/text the vendor and often don't hear back so miss out on a sale by me. That has happened 4x now which starts to get a bit frustrating! read more

I had such a wonderful experience here this past week. I am in love with shabby chic type items so I figured I would browse around in this store but I found so much more! I am currently 6 months pregnant and I found the most adorable organic baby clothes and bibdanas. I wish I would've taken the persons info who made them because after getting home and putting them away, the quality is very very nice! I also wanted to purchase nearly every item of furniture, I mean you can't beat those prices and the pieces are GORGEOUS! I found a navy blue dresser for $230 which looked worth well over $1,000! I also really liked that the two who worked here, I think maybe mother/son? Were so incredibly nice and inviting. Best customer service! I was not sure of what I would find nor was I prepared to make all the decisions. I am filling a 5 bedroom, 1863 farm house in Petaluma and this was the place for all the furniture and accents, lighting etc. When I walked in Sarbi took over. She and Deepa found every item I needed, Anne kept track of all of it (over 20 items from dressers to tables) Sarbi and Omar figured out how to load up my van so I could get away with one trip. It was fast, fun and the items are fabulous. Best shopping expereince I have ever had. I love supporting local business and artists. I just found this amazing shop that has so many unique pieces in it! It's a real find! The service was incredible by all of the people working there, and Sarbi went beyond the call of duty to help me with the set of draws that I was looking for. Wonderful selection of restored furniture! Great quality and great price. Was looking for a dresser all over Oakland Berkeley and Emeryville, couldn't find anything close to what I had envisioned. Walked into Shabby Creek and instantly had a tough time trying to figure out which piece I wanted to take home. The colors are fun and beautiful. When you try to find used furniture usually it's a project, you think " o well if I sand this or paint that" but at Shabby Creek they already do it for you! The ladies were super nice but also not overwhelming, they were down to let me wander around the store with out bugging me or making me feel weird about going looking at a piece a few times,but are super helpful if you ask them.
