At the same time they have a 30% off senior discount so that makes up for the high prices on Tuesday for those 55+. My parents qualify so I saved $3 on my sports bra as they paid for it. Yea for a useful gift. My mom gets a lot of her puzzles here. She's a fan of the 300-500 piece puzzles. Most puzzles are 1,000 pieces so sometimes it's slim picking, but she still finds enough to keep her coming back. My dad loves the tie selection and loves his $0.50 ties. I sticky to the closeting selection and I usually can find an article of clothing. The 30% off surely helps with my selections and it's such a treat for them to buy it for me. They seem to discount by color tags, and they actually take those items out and put them in a specific section so you're not hunting for those sales like many other thrift shops. There are three fitting rooms in the back that are covered with curtains. You can sign up for their membership with your contact to earn points on purchases and get notified for their sales, as well. They did a great job packing and quickly shipping the tote bag. The purchase was kind of funny for a couple reasons. One, I thought it was a vintage bag because I didn't know you could resell newer items on Etsy that are not handmade. It looked vintage to me, so I didn't question it, but it turned out the bag is from a few years ago. No big deal. Second, I didn't pay attention to the bag's measurements or the word "mini" in the title. I had to laugh when I took it out of the box. It's so tiny. It looks like it will maybe fit my phone, wallet, keys, and that's about it. I was expecting it to be much bigger, but that's totally my fault for not paying attention. The tote bag is in excellent new condition with the tag still attached. It also came with a detachable long strap. I'm not sure what I will do with it because its teeny size feels too small for me, but it's an awfully cute bag.

I found a beaut of a black jet bead necklace with additional collectible crystal spacer beads. Absolute gem of a thrift shop!…read more Well curated and the volunteers went out of their way to help me navigate the giant hula hoops I discovered. The prices are beyond great if you love vintage clothing and know fabrics. I may have found my favorite dress of all time here for a whopping $14 (because it's a two piece set of decorative vintage fabric) it was in the premium section and the volunteers were adorable making sure I knew why it was priced this way. (I couldn't afford a yard of this fabric retail I'm giddy about a vintage two piece set that I can customize). To then discover that the proceeds go to support women's scholarships was the ultimate bonus! My grand total for everything was $54 and I happily gave my change to the donation bucket by the register. If you are in the area and love unique vintage items this is a must explore. I had to resist the urge to buy several of the tea cup collections. I'm a sucker for vintage tea sets and they have several that are stunning! Orinda would normally be far for me to go for a community theater especially when Castro Valley's Chanticleer is only about 20 minutes away. However, when I saw on Goldstar that they were putting on Agatha Christie's Poirot, this mystery nut had to check it out. This is a small outdoor amphitheater style seating with wood benches the first 3-4 rows and then rock benches for the remaining 5-6 rows. In anticipation of those with a rear lacking natural cushion or if you want some additional padding for the 2 hours, they do provide individual pads for you to sit on and blankets on cool nights. Acting for certain scenes seemed a little over the top vs. flowing naturally but it may be due to this only being the second show for this script. If you live in the area, it is a fun way to experience outdoor theater in the warmer months.

While living in Orinda, I took a few classes offered at the Orinda Community Center. First I…read moreenrolled in a tap dancing class and had a lot of fun. Although I had tapped for years the class was still fun and there were a lot of people enrolled. I also took a spanish class through the Orinda Community Center and it went well also. The Orinda Community center also organized league sports for children. I volunteered to coach a kids baseball team and everything was always very organized and fun. The Community Center is connected to the Library, which is also a great place. The park next to the community center is a lot of fun and has a lot of different equipment for kids of all ages.
