This place really holds some unique treasures. I have been coming here periodically for the last few years, and I have pretty much always come across something that has tickled my fancy. It's large, spacious, and offers items priced somewhat reasonable, to a little overly expensive. My only complaint would be, which is something I do agree with other yelpers on, is the lack of friendly customer service. With all the times I have been in here, I cant really recall any warm welcomes or accommodations from the people working here. I did however, receive a friendly greeting from a gentlemen dressed in jeans at the front of the store. I believe he was a host? Perhaps to assist with the loading of large furniture items? Anyhow, he had a genuine demeanor about him and provided a warm welcome when I entered. Overall, if I find something of my interest that I can afford, most likely I will purchase it. I will also probably continue to come back, being I am there for the home goods not the people. But it would be a pleasure for the store to be equipped with some more approachable service. read more

My feelings on Estates Consignments are mixed. They have VERY high-end merchandise and it is all in very good condition. However, the prices are unreasonable. For an example, I know cameras, and I know how much I can buy many camera makes for. On one trip they had an Argus 'brick', an old rangefinder camera from the 1950s. Those can typically be had, with the case, in working condition for $25-35, depending on the location and seller. Theirs was $75. Nothing fancy -- no specifically rare camera, just an expensive old brick. As another example, they had an all-teak table set. Very nice. $9,500. Now, could I afford $10K for a dining room table and six seats, in a heartbeat I would have bought it because it was a fantastic item. So in short, this store's target audience seems to be the very wealthy looking for something a few dozen steps up from Ikea. read more

If you ignore and refuse to acknowledge customers, how the #%^$ can you expect them to remain a costumer????? My wife (7 months pregnant) and I walked in and she politely asked if she could use their restroom. She was told by the woman that theirs was "out of order" but that she could go over to Ace Hardware. Seriously? What a #$%^! I agree with some of the other negative reviews on here... customer service sucks! I went in the other day looking to buy a bit of furniture (2 sofas, tables, bed, etc.). The women behind the counter were talking to some solicitor that came into the store while they were eating. I stood there for nearly 4 minutes, right next to the woman, and she didn't acknowledged me. When I finally butted in, she briefly answer a few of my questions while shoving a big sandwich in her mouth. It was just gross! I would go here in the future only to buy decorative items for my house... those items are more reasonably priced then the furniture, which is normal new store prices. read more

We can only afford the pieces and some of the art that decorates the walls and counter-tops of this place---not much of the actual furniture. But most of their items are gorgeous. It's fun just to stop by, look around, get ideas, and enjoy some of their free candy! It's almost like browsing through a museum, they have such pretty "period" pieces of furntiture. I have doubts about much of it being "on consignment" though--I've seen a few identical pieces (including identical engagement ring settings!) available. read more

Interesting place. They do have some things displayed at the store that is called "décor" and not for sale. The sales manager told me that sometimes when they are done with the "décor", they do sell them. There was this large vase with silk flowers that I wanted... not for sale of course. It was apparently very expensive and was arranged by some European flower designer. Last time I went there, the flower and the vase was gone. They had sold it. I wish they had a list of customer to call when they are selling these "décor" stuff. I would have loved to buy that gorgeous flower arrangement and the vase. I say you shouldn't display things that you don't wanna sell !!! Or have that list to call those who are interested when you do decide to sell the "décor" things. read more

I went in here a few days ago to find a man sitting at a security guard desk, he was walking around the store and the parking lot. He had a clip board and was actually writing down license plate numbers for people parking in there lot.... strange. He was not doing this discreetly but walking up to each car and writing down the plates. Anyway, this place does have a lot of inventory, but it's waaaaay overpriced. Ok, I love this place! I came in to kill time and I've been looking to replace some furniture in my formal living room without going crazy expensive. I was greeted and everyone was friendly, but not in a "used car salesmen" kind of way...as my experience has been in other stores. Quality and prices were good, although as others have commented, most of the furniture is new and not consigned. Compared to Ashley Furniture, prices appeared reasonable and product on trend. (Ashley Furniture, not so much IMO). What caught my eye is their consigned jewlery and watch collection. High end and extensive. I ended up going home with a great Tag Heuer watch for my husband! Negotiated to my satisfaction on price and terms. Very happy with my purchase and experience. Fingers crossed my husband likes it... If not, that's ok...they have allowed me 24 hours to return for a refund. All fair to me. :) read more

This place is decent in size. They have both furniture and jewelry, but I was here for just the furniture. The furniture selection is pretty modern. The sales guy says they don't really accept used furniture from everyday people - unlike most consignments - but rather, they get them from showrooms, etc. So things looks in better shape, and there's even a modern feel to many of the items available. They have a cool policy where you can bring home furniture for 24 hours to see if you like it, and if you don't, you can bring it back! The only thing is that some of the prices are pretty expensive, and only a few items seemed appealing. read more

What a hidden gem! When I walked in the door I was immediately impressed with the quality of merchandise in the store. Most of the furniture looked brand new and there was a nice selection of luxury items. I don't know what the other reviews were that said it is too expensive, perhaps these people have never priced out some of the high-end items that were on display at this store. For example: I saw a $2,000 Givenchy bag on sale for $600 and it looked brand new (I googled the price). There was a huge selection of watches: Rolex, Breitling, and other top names. My wife is a huge fan of Tiffany jewelry and there was a large selection of these. If you are looking for cheap crap, don't go to this store, go to Walmart. But if you are looking for rare, unique, quality pieces, you will be very happy. read more

This is such an amazing store. I could literally spend hours wandering around this place and never get tired of looking at all the great things they have. My fiance brought me here for the first time a few months ago and I felt like I entered another world; well, it certainly feels like it belongs in Walnut Creek or Danville at least, but without the hefty pricetag. The furniture and accessories they have here are so multi-cultural and fun. I'm a big fan of very exotic and ecclectic looking home decor. Granted, its not your typical Grandma's consignment store, those places usually smell anyways. I think they just attract a different crowd, they're obviously doing something right. I have been in there two times to buy jewelry there. The lady had some beautiful things at a good price. I went in again and found a gorgeous silver ring for $39.00. I went online I saw she had charged me $239.00 instead of $39.00. I went back to the store today and they credited my account $200. right on the spot. I was so happy, I bought a bracelet! After many years of wanting to stop into the Estate Consignments to look around, I finally did. What a joy and a delight!! Everything is beautifully arranged on the floor. I wanted to move in! I found myself needing to combine TWO households and had a need for Estate Sale help. Ruebener is an excellent guide for this process. He and other Team members counseled me on what to do and how everything would work. The time and care everyone in the store who worked with my project gave was more than helpful. I could not have made it without them. AND 99.9% of the items were sold. It was fun going into the store to see how our possessions were displayed. Went here because I saw it while driving and have been looking for some decent patio furniture. Well... I walked in here and was pleasantly surprised at how elegant the store is but WOW if this is a consignment shop, I don't want to know the original price of EVERYTHING they sell. I asked one of the associates if they sold patio furniture and she replied "no we don't" very pretentiously. Almost like "who do you think we are?" Everything here is in great condition but way overpriced. If you're looking for a good deal on furniture, don't come here. Top dollar prices on everything to the point you could buy the same item for new for just a few dollars more. I would never purchase anything from this business given the nature of their current t.v. commercial depicting a wife asking three young women to sit on each of the items she wants to entice her husband to purchase. The commercial is in very poor taste and is insulting to women and men - and marriage! What a lot of people don't realize is that this place sells consignment as well as NEW furniture, the prices for the new furniture is priced pretty fairly. All the negative reviews must be from people who shop for furniture at ikea or on Craigslist. This place sells solid wood furniture, quality stuff! This place does not do it for me. I'm generally a hunter of tchotchkes and theirs tend to be higher than I like, but that's not all of it. Their is a weird atmosphere in the place and a very strange mix of items. I went in there to have some jewelry consigned. The fellow I spoke with was nice and pleasant and looked at my stuff and said that he would put it on consignment at, "Net". I do not know a lot about jewelry or diamonds, these were some pieces my mom gave to me that she gave someone a loan on. The prices he quoted were really low and made me really depressed, as my mom said they were worth a lot more. I went to another shop and they told me these items are very nice pieces and worth way more than he quoted. I am going to have them professionally appraised, then attempt to sell them. Be careful about taking your items here, I'm not really sure how honest they are. They are nice and they had a lot of nice things for sale. read more

I have been in this place several time, but this last time was the first time I bought something. The pieces are gorgouse. I bought a painting maybe 3 feet by 5 feet. Tuscany vineyard. Beautiful and they bargained with me. I felt like we got an amazing deal. A steal really. There is a second matching painting that would look amazing on another wall. My mother is downsizing, and had various items that she wanted to sell. We went to Estates Consignments, and it was very successful. They were pleasant and timely to deal with. I liked that they didn't set up a descending schedule (so that things either move quickly or keep having the prices slashed) like a nearby competitor. One of our items didn't sell (after it had been there quite a while), and they were very patient about my getting around to picking it up. Also, they have two large rooms. The less-than-perfect stuff, which probably tends to be the stuff on consignment, tends to be in the room farther back. read more

My husband and I were killing time waiting for a doctor appointment. We love antique stores, and this store caught our eye. We strolled the shop and found lots of fabulous things we would love to have,but we were not in the market for furniture. We found an incredible jewelry store in the back of the shop. They had an incredible selection of jewelry and estate pieces for sale. The prices were excellent! I found a ring guard that looked like it would fit my grandmothers ring. They were kind enough to hold it for me until I could bring my ring back to match. We also found a gorgeous mans wedding ring for sale as well. We ended up trading some useless gold chains we had for credit and paid a little extra and bought both rings. The jeweler matched my 1920's ring to the ring guard and created a stunning new ring. My husband and I was visiting my sister in Walnut Creek, California, which I do at least once a year. As usual, we sisters go shopping and exploring. This time she took me to this consignment place in Pleasant Hill. This place, OMG, is so great. It is nothing like the consignment shops that I have seen before. You know.. the ones with old smelly beat up furniture and other junk. It also has the most beautiful selection of jewelry. Things like diamonds and Swiss watches and brand name stuff. The prices on these brand name jewelry were very very reasonable. I know since I have been shopping for jewelry for my birthday everywhere for a while. Here I saw the most amazing yellow diamond ring in their jewelry department. I just had to show the ring to my husband who immediately saw the value in this ring. He went ahead and psurchased the ring for my birthday. In addition, I found a gorgeous chandelier that I then dragged over to my home in New York. Too bad I dont live in California. Anyway, my sister does, and when I come around to Walnut Creek, I will definitely make this place one of my stops. What a great place !!! read more

Consulting them to sell furniture was a total waste of time. I had moved and was in the process of selling some exquisite items: A large marble top dining room set with beautifully embroidered chairs of the finest craftsmanship. Along with this I have a beautiful Louis XVI style desk made of finely beveled African Mahogany and ornate metal molding. This woman, Cristina, is the new owner (manager) and all she told me is that my table was outdated and out of style. What??? She went on to say that it was from the 70's and 80's while she was showcasing all these low-end items that were even older. I was appalled and disgusted. My review isn't so much about the store, which I find mediocre, but rather her insolent judgement of my furniture and her lack of taste and expertise. Apparently, she is looking to make a quick buck and only wants to sell things that will sell in a timely and expeditious manner. But for her to just callously insult my furniture after I supplied her with high res photos is disenchanting. She wants warehouse items which will make her money. My items are nice and exclusive. She said she can only price my desk at $300-349. This has to be an insult. Her rationale for such statements was that people are downsizing and that the public is looking for smaller furniture. What a weak excuse. My desk is 6 feet wide and 3 feet deep. I can't understand why anyone with good taste in a nice home would think it's too big. I highly suggest you don't buy from these crooks. You are wasting your time if you do. They have some really strange and ugly items with big prices attached. Someone needs to give this woman a lesson in home furnishings and American culture. Who does she think she is? But outside of her thoughtless remarks she could have offered a couple of suggestions on how to sell them or at least come up with better reasons. read more

I have only purchased jewelry here, so can only speak to that. They have an amazing collection of estate jewelry, the best around, plus some new pieces. I have bought a number of pieces here, and highly recommend the place to friends. For some of the consigned pieces, the owner wants an unreasonable amount. But you really can find some treasures, especially if you like colored gemstones and watches. The service is always excellent at the jewelry counter. But they know me, know I buy, so they just indulge me and let me try on lots of things. read more
