Marin Cafe makes delicious cakes! Specifically, their tres leches is my go-to standard cake if I need to pick something up for a special occasion. It's moist and not too sweet. I've also had the mocha tres leches and lemon shortcake and feel the same about both. They also sell cheese rolls at a good price. I like Porto's more but at this price, I can't complain. I wish they had been able to stay in Montebello but at least this Pico Rivera location isn't too far from their old one! read more

Breaking news! New store has Yummy pastries, good coffee and welcomes their customers with a warm, friendly smile. Came across this place today and I'm glad I did! This is a hot new spot in Pico Rivera!! It is trendy and Maggie was so helpful and very friendly. She knew this was my first time and was happy to make suggestions and answer my questions about the variety of pastries and yummy desserts that they have. I had the Abuelita Latte which was legit! I also had a couple of pastries and those were absolutely delicious!!! They have a nice variety to choose from. Everything looks fresh and I was impressed by how fresh my pastries were. We stopped in after having Sunday Brunch next door to see what the bakery/cafe offers. Everything looked amazing and their selection of desserts, pastries, and other food items looked delicious. We bought a slice of strawberry short cake, chocolate dipped strawberry, and guava/cheese pastries. They were all very delicious and next time we'll stop by to try the food. This is a great spot, we'll definitely be back and refer our friends and family. read more

One thing made me go there: tres leches cake. My baby was even drooling when he looked into the cake display. They have mocha tres leches, strawberry tres leches, blueberry tres leches, and more! We also couldn't resist getting their $5 deal on six of their cheese and guava cheese pastries. We opted for half and half so we were able to get three of each to try. I saw many reviews remark how the rolls remind them of Porto's and I can agree. I think these have their own spin as the pastry is crispy and buttery with a different amount of filling that is very pleasing to the tongue. The sugar sprinkled on top is generous so I feel they're sweeter than the ones at Porto's--at least when it comes to the guava pastry. The guava paste filling is stronger and very fragrant as well--so I can see guava lovers preferring this. I was greeted promptly and was pleased to see patrons were able to sit in there. They have two small tables by the window, nice music, bright inviting lights, and good music. The only thing I wished was when I asked for a happy birthday message to be written was that I was asked for a name to write down. The server took the cake back right away and quickly scrawled an expert chocolate 'Happy Birthday!' on it though. I forgot to get a picture of just the cake but guaranteed it was very cute and pretty with yummy clean and unglazed fruits on top (which we prefer). The customer service is always great here and to top it off their house coffee is a must! When I'm in the mood for a treat this is my go to coffee! I been going since the OG one on Washington Blvd and been a loyal customer ever since. My sister is hooked also. Recently got a strawberry tres leches For my sisters bday and everyone loved it Including myself and not to mention it's near my house so no driving far to get a great cake. I've tried their choc chip cookies also...yum! They run out fast so get them while they are there. Also I was so happy that they gave me candles for the cake and I didn't have to worry about making a 2nd trip to dollar tree for candles. Great coffee,cool pastries, and good sandwiches. Found this place on google and was NOT disappointed. José was very helpful and attentive. I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich, and it came with pickles and jalapeños on the side. Which I thought was cool. There were tables where we were able to study at. Love this place! I'm here at least once a week, the coffee is delicious any flavor is a hit. All the employees are nice and welcoming. So I saw this place driving from the gym one day and since the wife and I are coffee connoisseurs, we had to give it a try. The guy there was super nice and pleasant. We both had the "house special coffee" iced. The coffee was creamy and very tasty that's for sure, only downfall was it came from a pitcher that was already pre mixed with creamer so I don't know if you can get an iced coffee black if you like your coffee black, I like my coffee black. The dining area is super small with room for only 3 tables with 2 chairs each. Not a big deal at all. They have a good selection of baked goods from concha's to slices of cake, I think I'll try one next time. Overall on the coffee side, I'll have to come back and taste their cappuccino or latte to get a better taste of how they actually make coffee... or espresso. Big turn off though is there is no prices on the menu so unless they have it written down somewhere, they can just charge you whatever they want which can make it very inconsistent from time to time. Both of our iced coffees were $10 total which to me is quite expensive when I can get it elsewhere cheaper. I will come back and try their lattes just for a better review on the coffee. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the great food and service by this little cafe. The panini sandwiches were so delicious and large. I couldn't finish my whole Pesto sandwich! I loved that the ingredients were fresh and the bread was nice and toasted. There were 5 of us today and I simply picked this meeting spot because of the Yelp reviews. Bought three slices of cake yesterday. Two tres leche and 1 strawberry my daughter loved the strawberry cake and me and my husband loved the tres leche. This place is honestly slept on, I always go to the smoothie place next door and have been really curious about trying this place. I decided to give it a try and it was worth it! The customer service is absolutely amazing and the coffee is really good! I got the breakfast sandwich and the burrito. I was working out this way today and as I was driving home, I wanted to stop and get something to eat. Instead of getting typical fast food, I came across this café. Let me tell you! It's a small place, but has such a cute ambience. I ordered the Pesto Panini with turkey, which also came with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was great but that potato salad was the best potato salad I ever had, and I am not a fan of potato salad usually! I also ordered a cheese and guava pastry (which I ate as I was waiting for my sandwich). Super delicious! They also have champurrado (which is seasonal) so I decided to try it as well and it was definitely satisfying. Overall taste was amazing and service was inviting and friendly. the sweets are super good i really enjoyed the strawberry pastery. it reminded me of the one i always got before at this farmers market but better and not to sugary. Though their sandwiches are not the fanciest sandwiches, Tito's Market make solid sandwiches. I arrived at Tito's Market with a party of 4 on a Sunday. It was around 12:30PM and a lunch line had started from the cashiers that went to the refrigerators. The line was pretty fast though and it seemed like patrons knew the gist and tables emptied out just as they finished their meals. My group ordered 4 of Tito's hot sandwiches: milanesa de res, lomo de res, and two ribeye. All large/full sizes. My group also ordered one of each of their empanades (beef, chicken and cheese) and a side order of fries. I had the lomo de res and was able to sneak a bite of each of the sandwiches. Although the sandwiches looked fairly identical, all the meats were noticeably unique. The lomo de res (filet mignon) was very tender, but I have to admit that the ribeye was my favorite from the 3. Fries breaded and a great addition to the meal. Empanadas were also very tasty. The meat was ground meat and are the doughy (rather than flakey) kind. Expect a cheese pull moment with their cheese empanada! The only quip that I have with the empanada was that they left a pretty gnarly oil stain in the bags they were packed it. I felt pretty guilty at the sight. Water is available if you ask for cups, but they also have a variety of imported drinks. As the name mentions, they have a small grocery store as well that takes up a third of their shop. Tito's market had plenty of seating when we came in. It seemed packed, but people did their due diligence, cleaned up and left after having their meal. Parking was fine although the spaces are on the smaller side (if you have a SUV or bigger.) There seemed to be plenty of parking when I visited, but there was curbside parking as well.

Nothing crazy just an old-fashioned chili dog that was a solid meal for a very reasonable price. This place has an old school vibe that's of a place that's been around for a very long time. The folks here are friendly. I personally don't have a nostalgia attachment to this place, but I was sitting near some folks that were telling their kids how they used to come here when they were younger as well. Definitely a good spot to grab something out when you're in the area. And it won't break the bank. Would love for more of these type of places to exist everywhere and especially where I live.

Stopped by Marin Cafe for breakfast today and had a great experience. I ordered the avocado toast, which was delicious. The avocado sauce they serve on the side was so good and added even more flavor. The crispy bacon on top was the perfect touch, adding both texture and a nice savory crunch. I also got a vanilla latte, and it was excellent. It had a great balance between the natural bitterness of the coffee and the vanilla sweetness without tasting like an artificial syrup. The cafe itself is a cozy little hole-in-the-wall with a calm, relaxing atmosphere. There's some seating available, though it's not a very large space. I placed my order over the phone, and the service was fast. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. One thing I did notice is that an 18% gratuity was automatically added to the total without being mentioned beforehand, which caught me by surprise.
