Carne en su Jugo! Absolutely delicious!
Angelica B.

This place is super cute! Love the ambiance & was pleased that they have their own parking lot. The location is within a residential area, so having parking availability is a plus. Now for the star of the night, their delicious Carne en su Jugo! I always drive out to Pancho's y su jugo out in Lincoln Heights, but I can confidently say this place has their carne en su jugo down! The bisque-like broth, bacon, tender beef, and beans were perfectly seasoned and balanced. The garnish, lime juice, and salsa tied it all up so well! Not to mention their flavorful handmade tortillas! I'm coming back soon! I'm now curious about their chile rojo and tostadas raspadas, AND their breakfast menu. Also, service was friendly and attentive.

Best new spot in Pico. The bad reviews are attributed to a new spot not ready for the volume and blow up. The reviews must be based on the actual food quality and I give this place a 10 plus. The food and aguas frescas are fresh. We have been here four times since it opened and yes it gets busy but the quality of food is so great. I recommend the guac and chips. I literally see the female owner making it fresh and running kitchen. The space is beautiful, with great service from Thania. Looking forward to visiting again and trying a new dish from the menu. Wishing this new spot the best and the flow with wait time will get better.

We started with the Café de Olla, and wow--it was excellent! Honestly, the coffee alone would be enough of a reason for me to come back. It was perfectly made and had so much flavor. We also ordered the chilaquiles with beans, potatoes, and eggs. The eggs were a little more well-done than over-medium, but the chilaquiles themselves were delicious. The birria de res was full of flavor and served hot, just the way it should be. The kids had rice and beans and a burger, and everyone enjoyed their meals. There are still several things on the menu I'd love to try, so I'll definitely be coming back. The restaurant itself was nice, clean, and had a trendy feel. The patio is beautiful and will be especially nice once the weather cools down. Service was also great--friendly and attentive. My only suggestion would be to add a really good spicy salsa. Other than that, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately they didn't deliver. Clean restaurant with ambient decor and a cozy patio. The service was hit or miss. Made it hard to order food or get napkins. The food did come out fast though. I ordered chile verde with eggs, rice and beans. Good tasting sauce and pork but the portions were small. I was still hungry after I cleaned my plate. Had to finish my kids breakfast to satisfy my appetite. My wife tried their huevos rancheros. She liked her food but had the same complaint as me. My kids did enjoy their pancake breakfast. It was big enough for them to share. No complaints. The cafe de holla is delicious. Would have ordered a second cup but by the time our waitress came we changed our minds. The horchata was good too. Not too powdery. The service and portions need to improve if they want to retain customers.

The food was very tasty, the carne en su jugo was delicious with handmade tortillas. I also got mole enchiladas and the flavor was very good BUT it hardly had any mole. It would have been a 5 star is the enchiladas actually had a good amount of mole Overall it was good and I would go back!

This place has only been open for about 3 weeks and I live in the city so of course I had to come and try this place out(: When we arrived we overheard the waiter saying how it's been their busiest day ever since a tik tok recently went viral for them. They were rushed with so many customers that I don't think they expected to have in one day. By the time my boyfriend and I came you can tell it slowed down, we came around 3pm on a Sunday. I read the previous reviews and I must say my experience was very different. We got seated right away and we were able to get seated inside, although outside wouldve been just as nice too, the whole outdoor seating is shaded so it was actually fresh outside and the outdoor dining is so spacious and cute! As appetizers we ordered the Taquito platter (potato), perfect for 2 people. The potato was very soft and flavorful and was served with a good amount of guac. We also ordered the Mollete, first time having this and I loved it! The Bolillo had the perfect crunch and flavor of the chorizo and melted cheese was delicious. I ordered the red chilaquiles plate, the entire plate was packed with flavor and I really liked the flavor of the sauce. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked. My boyfriend ordered an al pastor taco, the tortilla was so soft, the meat was soft and honestly one of my fav items and I'm not even a big fan of Al pastor but this meat was tender and tasty. He also ordered the Enmoladas, the mole sauce was more on the spicy side than sweet which I liked since that's my preference. It had the perfect kick and wasn't too spicy. It had a good amount of chicken. To drink we got a Jamaica and Horchata, both were refreshing and not too sweet. Overall I enjoyed the food, the service was expeditious despite the rush they encountered earlier in the day. It's a cute, cozy family oriented restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food. I can't wait to be back and try more of their delicious items on their menu.

Lovely homely setting Very inviting. Be careful you might miss it going by. Parking in the rear.

Very quaint and traditional setting. A precious find. Very friendly and attentive service. Food that is only very closely outdone by family cooking. Absolutely tasty and well prepared. Starting with the cafe de olla. Delicious. Ordered the huevos con chorizo, beans, rice and a side of papas. My wife had the huevos con papa, beans and rice. To top it off was the homemade corn tortillas that won our hearts. Looking forward to having a family dinner using their beautiful patio area. Only drawback is it's easy to not see it and parking is in the rear because street parking is little to none

The place was empty on a Friday evening Red flag . I ordered enchiladas à la cart was nothing but corn tortillas with chicken inside .and toppings very dry no flavor

I am sharing this feedback in hopes that the management can address to customer service issue. I recently interacted with this business. and unfortunately,The service did not meet basic customer service expectations. The server did not allow me to sit in an area that was comfortable for me and my partner. We were told with attitud and aggression we weren't allowed to sit where it was convenient for us and as we were being seated the server threw the menus on the table with aggression and told us to knock yourself out! all for suggesting a different seating spot. We were given conflicting. information and my issue was left unresolved by the manager herself. The situation. was not handled properly. I understand that the business has difficult or busy days but the level of service was not handled properly. I was disappointed !hope the team uses this feedback for their communication and training moving forward.

No food review, just a full experience review. One hour wait time.. in the one hour wait time we never got our name taken down, we were never acknowledged by any staff. They were sitting people down as you approached the front. We finally made it to the front and we see multiple tables Empty the staff then says the kitchen is behind 45 mins to an hr. That they were not going to sit anyone till they started catching up on orders. I personally prefer to sit and wait than be standing and waiting. Since they were not sitting anyone they started writing names down. One hr wait time to approach front or speak to an employee Food was going to take 45 mins to an hr to be served after they decide to sit people We left Unfortunately we were not able to try the food The place looks really nice It was very hot inside and sun hits the outside

Food is freakin DELISH! I highly recommend chilaquiles Verdes. The wait time is slow, but the food is worth the wait.

The oysters were fresh and delicious. The crab esquite was the star next to the oysters. Poke taco and pork belly taco were fresh and delicious. Food was great, service was awesome, and the music was great as well. Highly recommend.

The restaurant was simple in decor and unfortunately the air conditioning was not working effectively. So it was almost uncomfortably warm during our visit. We ordered a margarita, lemonade, oysters and calamari to start. The margarita was fine and not strong. The calamari was good, unfortunately there is onion included in the mix and made up most of the small portion. The calamari sauce was really good and different from the usual marinara sauce. The oysters were great, cold and fresh. Definitely order those. For our mains, we ordered the tuna poke taco, pork belly taco, and the brunch burger. The poke taco looked promising but was overwhelmed by the guacamole. The fish itself was fresh and had good flavor. The pork belly taco on the other hand was really good and packed with flavor. Caution with the onion though. The burger was another fine choice but nothing notable. Lastly, the check we wanted to share to be aware that if paying with card to expect a 4% charge. Not sure if this is normal practice and this place is being transparent or it's something to watch out for. In summary, if going for the first time we'd recommend the oysters and pork belly tacos for sure. Staff were great and place is clean. At this time we are not sure if we'd try this spot again soon, but perhaps maybe during the evening to get a different perspective.

Not sure why this place is called Boston Lobster, but this outstanding restaurant in the San…read moreGabriel Valley focuses on Cantonese and Vietnamese flavors. Their signature dish - their "house special lobster"- is the most flavorful preparation of lobster that one can have. The lobster is fried and the juicy bites of meat is layered with garlic, green onions, and sweetness. If you're lucky, you might get some roe, which gives extra salinity. An order of lobster presently costs $34/lb and a "small lobster" will weigh 3-4 lbs; therefore, I only order this signature dish for special occasions. Even if you don't want lobster, don't fret as the rest of the menu is equally delicious. Their "yang chow fried rice", crab and fish maw soup, beef loc lac, and clams with basil sauce are all personal favorites. I love their lunch specials as their entrees come with lunch. The food is top notch, and it brings amazing Vietnamese and Cantonese flavors to this location in the San Gabriel Valley. For a special occasion with my wife or with a group, this is always a winning pick.

Thankfully, they were incredibly gracious and accommodating when we showed up. The food is served family style, so we got to sample a little bit of everything. The filet mignon medallions were delectable--tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. And the Lobster Noodles! This was my first time trying them and they absolutely delivered. The lobster was cut and fried in a way that made the meat tucked inside the shell really easy to get to, which made the whole experience so enjoyable. And that gravy... I was literally sucking on the lobster shell trying to get every last bit. So, so good. We also had a stir-fried green vegetable--possibly watercress--and it was delicious. Simple, savory, and cooked just right. I loved having something fresh and green alongside all the richer dishes. Great food, warm service, and such a fun meal to share with a group. I'll definitely be back.
