My family and I decided to try this place out. I dined here once before with a friend and liked the food and service. However, I'm not sure what happened during this visit but it took us almost an hour to receive our food. It wasn't busy aside from our party, there was only one other person dining in the restaurant. My sister aske the server why it was taking so long to receive our meal. The reply was: "We only have 1 cook. What do you mean it's taking long?" The server didn't say it rudely but she said it in a tone that made it sound as if us waiting for our food was not a big deal. One family member had to call to reschdule a meeting because we didn't expect our food to take so long. It took 45 minutes for my mom to receive a cup of clam chowder as an appetizer. When she tasted it she mentioned that it was very salty. Having just one server and one cook on a weekend is not well planned IMO. The cook seemed to handle to-go orders first and prepared our food last. I saw the customers who were picking up their to-go orders standing off to the side and waiting for quite some time (despite having called in their orders in advance). I'm not sure if I will return to this place or not. They need to improve on customer service. The food was good but it wasn't worth an hour wait. If you really crave Greek food, I suggest going to Greek House Cafe in Simi as an alternative. Their food is excellent and they are fast in service. Wow! This little hole in the wall next to Ralph's market on LA Avenue. I was driving around trying to find a spot to have some late dinner and saw this place. It was pretty busy for that time of night in Simi Valley. I decided on gyro plate. The Employees are real friendly. And the food was the Best. The portions were way more than I could finish. And Marilyn, the owner was working the tables. I asked her if she had any yogurt sauce and she went behind the counter and made some for me! Yummy yummy yummy. Had the falafel sandwich. A little different than other falafel sands that I have had but was really good. It had dill pickles in it which was odd at first but a nice change. Garlic fries were also great. Nice strong garlic flavor. Definitely coming back. read more

I don't do reviews often but when something is amazing, I have to give credit where it is due! From the moment I walked in I felt a great sense of warm welcoming. The entire staff is so pleasant and very nice. The food deserves more than 5 stars!!! It was cooked to perfection and so fresh! We tried the salmon, sea bass, fish tacos, scallops plate, hummus, garlic fries, and civiche. Even my 6 year old nephew who can be somewhat picky with his food LOVED his scallop plate and even ate some of my sea bass. I recommend you trying it all!!! The owner of the fish market next door opened a restaurant, and while the kitchen and floor are on the small side, their food is great! I love their ceviche, and of course the seafood is always delicious and fresh, but their kebabs are killer. I've fallen into a pattern. I always start with the ceviche to share with my wife, and then have Marylin's Salad with beef or lamb kebabs (or both if I'm hungry). This is a Hidden Gem of Simi Valley. There's so much I could go on about this business but I'll start by saying it is run by a family you will find Maria working every day that the restaurant is open. You will also find her mother who is a very beautifully aged woman working hard alongside her. They make the most authentic Mediterranean style food I have ever had. I live in Simi my whole life and I always wanted a business like this in town where you get cultural bites that are fresh healthy and homemade. My favorite items here are the fresh seafood, the grape leaves, baba ganoush, and they make an amazing Cioppino soup. My mother discovered this place a couple years ago we live near Sycamore, she ended up having Maria cater a bridal shower she hosted. We do not get a chance to go out to eat often but when we do this is my favorite place to go in town. Maria is so passionate about everything she does and it shows. She also has a huge heart and gives away a lot almost too much when you get to know her and dine they're often she will just make sure that you are satisfied beyond belief. There is a seafood market next door that is also owned by Maria and she buys everything fresh everyday so when you go into Maria's just know that the fish is so Super Fresh and she even runs a fish market next door making it that much more legit. Make sure that when you eat there you try fish or the fish tacos. And make sure you return to try the Mediterranean style food. The menu is pretty straightforward but it is eclectic so you really can't experience the best of in just one visit. Her sauces are all homemade and I love The Baklava. Lastly I learned on my last visit that Maria runs a farmers market fish taco booth at I believe it is the Beverly Hills market she has a huge following in LA. Simi doesn't really know what's going on here and we'll be lucky if she's around for a few more years because the demand is so high for her in LA and she's talking about leasing out another spot. You must try this food while you can in the more support she gets I think about her because I don't want this restaurant to leave our town we need it. read more

I so wanted to like this place. It's not 1 star awful but all the 5 star reviews have to be by people who are either friends of the owners or don't get out much. First of all its over priced. If you're going to have mediocre food at least make up for it by bigger portions. Second the mixed vegetables pictured in the menu and the mixed vegetables you get are completely different. It says and pictures broccoli asparagus and some other veggies and what you get are shredded carrots and zucchini. They also taste like they were cooked on the same grill as fish which I cannot eat. I ordered the beef gyro plate with hummus, greek salad, and garlic fries and it was SO good. The beef was extremely flavorful and tender and the garlic fries were delicious. I'll definitely order here again. I ordered delivery and I entered my unit #, but that detail was not saved for some reason. I don't know what happened but there was confusion because there are multiple units in this complex.
