Delicious food and friendly staff! Giving 3 stars because half the time I go out of my way to drive here and somehow they are always closed for one reason or another! Today I made a special point to check the website and summer hours. I rush to get there before 2:30 (kitchen closes at 2:30 but they stay open for drinks and snacks until 5) and it is closed for the week for vacation! Google hours are wrong so check their website. Drove over and waited on a 20 minute line to be told despite my text message that my order was accepted, it was not actually accepted and that they could not fulfill the order. If you're just walking by, chances are you'll miss Marigolds. It's down a small alley on the right hand side. Parking is also a challenge as downtown Summit is generally pretty busy. However, if you're willing to deal with it, run to Marigolds. They have elevated to coffee game to new heights, offering an eclectic gourmet selection of premium coffees from around the world. Each cup is individually drip brewed to extract maximum flavor. If you're a coffee lover or even a casual drinker, you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit. While we didn't eat, their menu and food looked incredible. If they had a few couches or maybe an overstuffed leather chair or two, I would gladly fork over another star :) read more

Never looked at us and treated as though we were invisible. After 15 minutes we walked out unnoticed. Acknowledge a customer and if you are busy let them know you will be with them shortly. Food is good. Owner = RUDE and UNHELPFUL Once I ordered on the phone and when I went to pick it up my infant had fallen asleep in her carseat. I called them and asked if they could run my salad out to the back (where they do dinner pick ups all the time - so not foreign) and they said no we can't. She continued to tell me that they wont ever do it again and that no restaurants do that. THANKS MARY! So accommodating to your customers. Esp since your #1 clientele is a Summit Mother for goodness sake. (Side note: there are several restaurants in Summit that are happy to bring food to your car after you order and pay by phone. Marigolds is the best. We always get the house salad and the Figaro sandwich, then switch things up with an extra salad or sandwich to try something new. The Palo Alto salad is pretty good but nothing compares to the house salad dressing (we buy bottles of it for home). If you want a sweet treat, try the raspberry bars - they are delicious! read more

Rude staff, terrible customer service. Went in for 2:30 late lunch as Yelp said hours were until 5pm. Door sign also stated the same. We were Heading towards a table when a woman immediately headed us off & brusquely stated they were not open for lunch service only coffee. She was unwelcoming and barked that we could find other places elsewhere to eat. When I mentioned Yelp as why we were there, she again rudely said that she couldn't control Yelp! I found her tone, manner and words disrespectful, very rude, offensive and unwelcoming to say the least; we felt chased out as maybe we only wanted coffee. We will not be returning. read more

Very few places are doing a CILANTRO LIME Dressing these days, so this is a REAL treat....and I think MARIGOLDS is the ONLY place in SUMMIT that does it...I also LOVE that its HOMEMADE dressing. I am not a real "SALAD" person. I am not one to go to a place and order "salad"; However, I eat THIS salad 3 times a week! :-) it's WONDERFUL. And I really like the SMALL portion only 5.00 and its JUST the RIGHT size....also, the salad is nicely chopped so that it is easier to eat out of the container when you are "on the go". I used to work in Summit and never went to Marigolds. Big mistake. I only went once after with a friend of mine and had a small coffee with cream. Let's just say it's the best I've had that I can remember. A simple coffee (^_^). Great environment, friendly staff, such a wide variety of coffee, very nice atmosphere, and super clean. I ordered the Palo Alto salad, with chicken. I received a monster of deliciously looking salad. It's good, but a bit on the sweet side, and could use something to spike the flavour up a bit: the greens are a bit old, and it felt a bit oily. There are a variety of sumptuous soups (including the ever-incredible roasted red pepper) and super generous salads full of healthy and interesting ingredients (Palo Alto is my fav). I love the decor and entire concept. We have been twice and both times I really enjoyed my food. Salads are very fresh and soup was very tasty. I hate to only give it two stars but the service is just horrible. They are nice - just way too slow. You have to wait in a long line to order at the counter. First time we went the food took 25 minutes after waiting in line for 5 minutes. I said OK, maybe it was an off day. The second time will be the last. Spent no exaggeration 15 minutes waiting in line to order and then another 45 minutes for our food (I even checked my receipt to confirm the time stamp). So now an hour from when we walked in the door for soup and a salad and a panini... And they forgot a soup spoon. Had to walk up to the counter and was handed a plastic spoon. At this point I'm fuming and asked for a metal spoon... Which they have just didn't want to get a first. So overall. Food is good. If you have an hour to wait give it a try. Their store is has a fun selection but is overpriced and the owner or person at counter won't even look up to say hello or give you the time of day. A nice little spot to sit and have a salad or sandwich. Its something Summit has long needed and its crowded every time I walk by. It is however, a bit overpriced. The "Mediterranean Tuna Tartine" is basically an upscale tuna sandwich. $9.50 for 4 small pieces of sourdough with tuna salad is a bit much. It was a very tasty lunch, but not very filling. Its in the back of the Mondo shop which has lots of funky items as well as Summit sports tshirts, etc. I'll definitely return, but I cannot afford to eat there on a regular basis. read more

It was a beautiful establishment and the workers were very friendly, the problem I had was the salad station is located right behind the curtain to the front of the building in view of the customers. The ladies making the salads weren't wearing masks the entire time they made the salads.. I called and expressed my feeling's and was told by Owner that everyone is vaccinated that works in the establishment, and they are not required to wear masks in the kitchen as well as there is no proof that COVID is transferred via food. How does the public know that all of your employees are vaccinated, are we just to take your word for it? We are in the midst of a pandemic and if you can alleviate a customers concern, and perception by wearing a mask and showing safety while working over food, don't you think you would do??? If I'm paying $11.00 for a salad, and this has nothing to do with price. It has everything to do with the safety and perception you display to your customers. I should feel safe knowing that your employees are following food safety guidelines as well as guidelines during a pandemic. read more
