Very small place. You would have to leave to change your mind. 3 hard working guys in a kitchen cast iron frying pans. That's fun. I guess they are famous for Sloppy Joes? Now in Massachusetts Sloppy Joe is ground meat in tomato based sauce. Like loose ground meat. New Jersey has a different sandwich. Probably a guy named Joe but a different guy. Still sloppy, though. It's in the back. Have to access from DeForest Ave. Behind the big parking lot across from CVS. First hour to park in that lot is free. I think 35 cents transaction fee. Pretty fast service. Cramped place but very clean.

**this review is just for their catering business **…read more We placed a large catering order with Zappia's just a few days in advance of when we'd need it and had some dietary restrictions that they had no problem accommodating. We got: 1. A large sloppy joe platter and requested they make the sandwiches without any dairy (they otherwise come with cheese) 2. A large tray of wraps - they let us customize which wraps which picked v giving us a random assortment 3. A medium sandwich tray of just veggie sandwiches They had a surprising number of vegetarian sandwich options, and all three platters were a huge hit with our guests. Zappia's also delivered on time and for free, which was a really nice surprise too. The prices overall were incredibly reasonable and hundreds of dollars cheaper than another place we called first. We will happily cater from Zappia's again.

Over-friendly counter guy leers at me "...but you want cheese, right?" Yeah, sure. "Meatball platter!" he proclaims with a flourish, finishing the order ticket. That's when I smelled a rat. After 10 minutes waiting, I come back to the counter wondering where the two or three meatballs are - adding a water to my order. My new bestest counter friend, bearing an uncanny resemblance to Patsy in the Sopranos, rings it up with the same fake friendliness. "That'll be $18.90!" I handed him my card and thought: "f'ng thieves". I'm not bitter, incensed, outraged, or insulted ...anymore. Finished my 10 mile walk and came home to write this warning to you and also figured out how Yelp got its name. You know how when you didn't notice that dog behind you and you accidentally backed up and stepped on its tail and suddenly you hear a "Yelp"? Anyway, check out the insulting picture here showing what $18.90 gets you: three bland meatballs, some stringy cheese swimming in bland red sauce - all in a cheap plastic tray with cheap plastic utensils and bland water. Last time I'll get snookered, hoodwinked, ganked, took, bamboozled, and hustled at this place. And don't try telling me the bottle of water and the meatballs and the cheese are all more expensive because of the Strait of Hormuz. You gouge saps because this is a money area and you can get away with it. Still doesn't make it moral. What? Customers should first ask what you charge for three meatballs, some cheese and water? Oh it's on US?

As a Midwesterner, I had no idea that it wasn't the same ground beef/bbq sauce concoction that we make. The roast beef and swiss Sloppy Joe was AMAZING! I have never had anything like it before. It was so great, that I made him stop in before we left town and we got two more for the road. I had mine with turkey and cheddar, which didn't matter because the coleslaw and Russian dressing mix is the star of the show!!!! I enjoyed this so much that I am going to try to replicate it at home in Minnesota! If we ever get back to Summit again, you can be sure that we will be stopping by again for the BEST SANDWICH EVER!!!!!

Millburn is the flagship store, so naturally there are menu items exclusive to this location. I've noticed that the hours of operation here are slightly different than all of the others (this one opens and closes earlier). There's minimal parking in front of the store, rarely available. Your best bet is to park on the side of the store in the small parking lot. It's free for the first 30 minutes, but there is a meter. I love that the lot is also connected to Taylor Park, a cute neighborhood open space with a fountain. The 5 stars continue to stick for me because I've never had a bad sandwich here. My favorite two are The Griller #8 (with extra pesto or garlic mayo, depending on my mood). And the Friday Joe is always a hit! This time I opted for the Egg Salad sloppy joe with red onion. They could be more generous with the pickles. But the sandwich is a hit! I always appreciate that if you ask to sample anything, they're more than happy to oblige. The service is efficient and even if it's crowded they move pretty quickly. It can be a bit overpriced, especially if you want to substitute or add anything. But it's always satisfying and worth it in the end.
