They're cracking eggs at the crack of dawn and serving up some classic food staples from loaded Omelettes to Specialty Sandwiches. First time here I went with the Taylor Ham and Cheddar Cheese Omelette Platter which comes with Potatoes and your choice of Toast. For the record My choice will always be Rye. Now the Omelette was loaded with protein and the Home Fries were grilled to perfection.  I thoroughly enjoyed my Breakfast which inspired me to write this Epic Review. Lol Coffee is very good here, prices are fair, they have a Lottery Machine, and the Ladies working the front counter are nice. Thursday morning, we stopped inside Donut Basket Deli & Grill for coffee and breakfast. There are a few parking spaces in front by the entrance and more in the back. The couple behind the counter were friendly. There are a few tables inside, but it's mainly a pick-up-and-go spot. While we were there, we saw a couple of regulars who were greeted by name, which was cool to see. They serve up really good coffee here! It's a place where you can get a hot meal to eat there or take out, while also buying a newspaper and gum. The name is a bit misleading, as Donut Basket is not actually famous for donuts, and is instead, primarily a diner style establishment specializing in grilled favorites, sandwiches, and oddly enough, Asian food. And for a small little place in the middle of nowhere, the coffee is surprisingly good. Seating is limited and so is the number of employees working there. While this place is very unassuming from the outside, it was a surprise just how good it was once you go in. I had a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a roll and it was excellent! I love Donut Basket! It's a pretty small deli with counter space and a few tables for eating there, but they have amazing sandwiches! I used to go there for lunch almost every day during high school and the sandwiches are consistently good. My favorites are the Chicken Deluxe (breaded chicken cutlet, American cheese, bacon [they have AMAZING bacon], lettuce tomato, horseradish sauce mmmm) and the Lancers (grilled chicken, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, balsamic). Also try the grilled chicken triple decker and the meatlover's triple decker. They are a bit pricey at $6-8 a sandwich, but their subs are large and worth the money. Usually I ate half of the sandwich for lunch and saved the other half for afternoon snacking. I'm pretty sure the Korean owner rounded up when he charged me. He remembers regulars though and rounds down occasionally to make up for it. read more

This place has great food, but when you get ripped off, it's not worth it. This place has a 10$ credit card minimum, which I understand. But it wasn't until AFTER ordering my food, eating, and went to pay did I find this out. The owner tells me his card machine isn't working and I can use HIS ATM machine outside. This ATM fee was $2.50. So he basically forced me into paying him an extra $2.50 and there was no other choice because his machine wasn't working and I already ate. There was no sign either indicating that the machine wasn't working prior to ordering, which is why I was scammed. I really wish this wasn't the case because the food is great. Won't complain about the food - it's good. There is a sign on the register that says there is a $10 minimum on credit/debit cards, which is fine. The problem is I have been there twice and both times the swipe machine is mysteriously broken. When I said I don't have any cash, he tells me there is an ATM outside on the wall of the building. Funny that the ATM outside, that HE OWNS, charges a $2.50 fee every time you use it. So basically, the register tells you that you can pay with debit or credit, so you make your order, then when it comes time to pay, he tells you the machine is broke and you have to use HIS ATM, so he collects an extra $2.50 for every swipe. It's called a SCAM. read more

Don't go here unless you want to be treated poorly by the owner. He told us the credit/debit card machine was down. He wasn't even willing to try his card machine, stating that it also charges a fee but to him. Making four us use HIS ATM outside that charges $2.50. i told him the he should out a sign out when its not working so people know before they order ,he didn't care. F this place. I stopped here because it's called "Donut Basket". I thought it was a donut shop where they made donuts. Maybe I could get some kind of an interesting, fresh donut. Well here is is, Saturday morning at 10 am and they had like 6 ratty donuts that were clearly made somewhere else. So I was already inside and decided to go with a Taylor ham, egg and cheese. Great little "full-service" (it has a grill) deli, just off of the Livingston circle (east along Route 10). The owners are really nice and will make you pretty much anything if they have the ingredients, along with a bunch of specialty sandwiches. It has a couple of tables if you want to eat there. read more

Bad attitudes ...but forgivable... Could be attributable to early morning ... But what's not so forgivable is the way they pull old bacon out of a bucket of lard and throw it on the grill to heat it up. That can't be healthy or sanitary. How hard is it to make new bacon. I was so disgusted I walked out... And they have the nerve display Boars Head products in their case. Sorry Donut basket ...
