The service on food is very quick. I wasn't a fond of the salad, it looked old and poorly made. The country fried chicken was very good, next time I would less on the gravy because it tasted sweet to me. The dinner portion was good with the three sides. Lastly their orange sprite freeze was very good and refreshing, it lasted very cold in their silver cup. I had to take the rest home. My mom is in a care facility out west so we're on constant lookout for breakfast places to eat prior to visiting her. This was today's attempt. It wasn't fancy but it was clean. Think small town diner with locals. People serving us were nice. When Princess wasn't sure about ordering biscuits and gravy the sweet woman brought us gravy in a cup with a spoon for her to try. She noted it was homemade and we could get it just white without pork sausage as well. Princess liked it, with the sausage. I tasted it and it was surprisingly well seasoned and tasty. Unfortunately the "biscuits" were weird. Spongy squares baked in a casserole dish they reminded me of beer bread in texture. Too bad because that yummy gravy deserved better. My denver omelette and hash browns were fine, neither bad nor stupendous. Same for hubbys pancakes and scrambled eggs. Coffee was a bit watery but passable. I don't like their puffy blobs of margerine for toast and pancakes but prefer foil wrapped butter pats. They do have sugar in a pour cannister and cream in little pitchers. That's cool.Princess liked her chocolate milk and the bacon was ordered crispy and came that way. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to return but its an ok place to grab an egg and some toast. read more

We've been going to Maridon's Café for over 22 years. It is often a breakfast or lunch go to for our family. My wife traditionally takes each of our children out for a birthday breakfast to Maridon's and has done this ever since we moved to Forest Grove 22 years ago. We've known Janet Who runs a clean business, has clean restrooms, and a devoted clientele. Prices are good, quality of food is good, and quantity of food is also very good. Their service is friendly and efficient. I think their pancakes are very excellent and remind me of Cafe's from when I was a child. Can't beat a burger fries and chocolate shake though. read more

Visiting family in Forest Grove, we've eaten all over the area and stumbled on Maridon's Cafe. We asked her to make a special BLT with egg over medium for breakfast. She didn't blink, and moments later, produced this breakfast masterpiece! It came with a side of homemade Beef Vegetable soup- and honestly, served on china plates, I feel like I'm at home in Mom's kitchen. Use to be the best place. After the new owner, it's a real shit show. I have been in and ordered a taco salad. With tickets up, the cook needed a cigarette break. Upon returning to his job he decided that he had already prepare the orders and dumped the tickets. After about 20 minutes he got around to starting my food. Today I ordered a BLT. It was so burnt that the bacon desentegrated when I picked up the sandwich. I slid it down 2 seat from me on an empty bar. The waitress proceeded to tell the owner I through the plate. If I wasn't worried about an assault charge, I would have shown her what throwing a plate looks like. I have also been verbally assaulted by a customer because I wouldn't let him pray for me. WTF! First time coming here, let me first say pancakes are great and they are huge! Waffles not so much, an eggo waffle from my toaster would have been better. I got the veggie omelette, it had jalapenos, mushrooms, bell peppers and cheese. It was ok, but was missing some salt and pepper, and the cheese could have been more melted! Really, I never knew this place existed until my friend brought me in once. It resides directly across from Safeway, in the same plaza, and next to Jade Green. It's difficult to notice since the sign outside is extremely worn and blends into the general dinginess of the facade. Perhaps this merely speaks to the longevity of the business and not the lack of attention to upkeep? I got the chicken fried steak, per usual. (That's pretty much my meter stick for any breakfast joint). I don't remember much about it, so it must have been serviceable but not amazing. The biscuit, however, I do remember. What a wonderful little gem tucked away in Forest Grove. Only open for breakfast and lunch they offer a wide variety of meals. The menu is all day long. The staff is friendly, courteous and genuinely appreciative. I am from the mid-west and am very familiar with diners and this was certainly a great diner. The coffee was hot and the plates generous. I had the farm scramble and my wife had the chicken fried steak breakfast. The biscuit is homemade and tastes delicious and paired with the homemade gravy both are worth the visit. The waitress asked how well done I wanted my bacon. That hasn't happened in a long time. As far as I can tell, this is pretty much the only place to get breakfast on Sundays in Forest Grove - one local explained to me, "Forest Grove sort of rolls up the carpet on the weekends." If you are a foodie, this restaurant is not for you. It has traditional American breakfast. Eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and coffee. The biscuit looks like a large piece of tan colored cornbread.
