Fast service, helpful staff, and the empanadas are always fresh. Each Empanada is around $6.25 each. If you want to get a sauce it's a little bit of an upcharge. These are great for the plane as they are super portable and you don't have to eat them hot.

Honestly for an airport restaurant, this spot is great. They had a variety of empanadas to choose from and each of them is like $6.85 and they're decently filling actually, I wasn't very hungry but a single one made me feel comfortably full. I had the miso chili crisp steak because it sounded unique and was new, and the worker said it was one of his new favorites. Can't say the miso flavor came through much but the flavor in general was great! It went well with the matcha latte I bought at Peet's coffee next door. Overall glad I found this place - sometimes I just want a quick, not terribly expensive snack in an airport that is portable and can be eaten quickly, and these absolutely fit the bill!! Will also note- the staff was very friendly and quick, the line moved like a conveyer belt. Would definitely come back!

Maria Empanada at the Denver Airport was a great find while waiting for my flight. The service was fast, efficient, and friendly, making it easy to grab a quick bite without feeling rushed. I appreciated that all of the empanadas were clearly labeled, and most varieties were available when I visited. There was plenty of seating, both at the bar and at tabletop seating areas. I also liked that they offered to wrap empanadas for travel, making it easy to take extras home. I tried the Miso Chili empanada. It was served hot and fresh. While there were a few chewy pieces, the meat was overall tender and flavorful. I also sampled the Banatella empanada. It was tasty and satisfying, although it didn't quite have the rich flavor I associate with real Nutella. Maria Empanada was a fast, convenient, and delicious airport dining option. I'd definitely stop by again for a quick and tasty treat before a flight.

I had heard nothing but great reviews about Maria Empanada in the Denver International Airport from fellow flight attendants. After also seeing how many great reviews they had I decided to give them a try and they did not disappoint!!! Located near the A gates, ME is a cute, bright, super clean space staffed with friendly people! There are tons of flavor options along with sauces and sweet treats. I ended up trying the Spinach, Diego, Beef and Argentina (not all on the same day-lol!!). The spinach and cheese talked like fresh spinach- the Diego was chicken and savory, the beef was full of flavor and filling- but the stay here for me was the Argentina (a had been sold out in my first visit) it's filled with steak and veggies- with the red sauce I got to go with it, it was AMAZING!!! If you're looking for a quick bite to eat and you're in the DEN airport, DEFINITELY give Maria Empanadas a try!!!

Super cute empanada spot! It looks really clean and modern. I appreciate the Argentinian vibe here with the Maradona memorabilia. The empanadas also have names like "Argentina" and "Diego" They have a variety of empanadas including breakfast ones with eggs, potatoes, etc. I chose to try the "Diego" which has braised chicken, chimichurri sauce, peppers, and onions. It was delicious! Service was fast and friendly! Definitely a great spot to get a quick bite.

Actually really tasty empanadas, it was a great snack before my flight. It's just pretty pricey, airport prices. Nice people working here and they have a lot of options. It was well organized too which I appreciate. I'd definitely say this place is a good spot out of the many bad ones here lol

These empanadas are the perfect airplane food! I got an egg and potato, and a bacon egg and cheese empanada. As well as one of the Alfajor cookies-- traditional flavor. Loved how the cookie was individually wrapped. And how the empanadas are stamped with the flavor. The empanada were soo good. Not greasy, and a great little handheld for on the plane. The cookie was yummy. But I probably wouldn't get it again for on the plane. When I started to eat it, it kind of was crumbling a little bit. Which was a little awkward. Not horrible, I'm just being picky. I'd get it again, if eating in the terminal, because it was delicious. But next time I'll get one of the dessert empanadas for on the plane. Thanks for providing great food at DEN. Staff was also very friendly-- and it was early. See you next time!

10/20/25 & 10/28/25 What a great addition to DEN airport. Located next to Gate A24. Great for me connecting through here! Maria Empanada has something to accommodate almost everyone! Quick and easy. Empanadas are $6.25 each and sweet empanadas are smaller at $3.35 each. They have just the right amount of filling. I have tried the Argentina, Sierra, Chorizo & Egg, and the Mushroom and Spinach over my last couple visits on my back to back travels. They are room temp warm vs hot. I definitely prefer them hotter in temp. This lil spot is gaining traction over the week so there is a line when you first walk up but it moves pretty fast. Service is fairly quick and easy. There is seating available if you have the time to sit and enjoy them.

While on a layover in Denver, we were allowed to deplane for egress because we were inside the plane waiting for more than three hours so we decided I decided to get some food and found MARIA empanada. MARIA empanada has a variety of savory options from pork to spinach to mushroom beef in the lake and they also have some sweet options like peach cobbler, apple pie and the Like. It's a carryout type restaurant and extremely convenient when you're in the a terminal of Denver International Airport.

Maria Empanadas hit da spot. Why is it when you're hungry, the food just tastes better. This location is in the Denver International Airport. Average price spend is $10 - $20 per person. All the Empanadas are $6.25 each. Flavor choices range from Chorizo and Egg, Egg & Potato, Argentina, Beef, Diego, Ham and Cheese, Caprese, Corn, Mushroom, Spinach or Maria Empanadas. The sweets vary from $3.35 to $10.45. Employees here are friendly and efficient. They verified my order for accuracy because I was asking about so many different empanadas. Everything was delicious.

I stopped in at the airport location to get something to eat before my flight. I had the Argentina and Mushroom empanadas. They were up[ very quickly which made me wonder how good they would be if they were just reheated, but there was no reason to wonder. These were delicious. Hot, crispy with just the right amount of filling. They were fairly large portions for the price which is unusual for the airport, haha. I will absolutely come back and try the others. What a great edition to DIA!

While I was there though I was not going to pass up the chance to get some empanadas but since I didn't come with an agenda I just told the guy behind the counter give me two choices of whatever you think is good. I appreciated when instead of questioning or getting confused or asking a follow up he just "you got it boss" and entered in the choices without thinking twice. I knew that he was a real one for this. I got my mate which they have on tap! On tap mate is dangerous but it was very delicious. They had two flavors one mixed with orange juice and one that was simply sweetened (not overly sweet at all. Less sweet than any yellow canned mate you might be thinking of). I tried both choices and the orange juice one was really good but after a full glass I felt a little weighed down. I can't remember the last time I drank that much orange juice. The food comes out and this is where my review is going to get unhelpful. I have no idea what either of these are called and honestly I don't need to know. The flavors were on point for both. One was a traditional seeming empanada with a ground beef mixture on the inside. Not spicy but the flavors were robust. The outer layer of the empanada was also flavorful but fell apart a bit from the heavy sog of beef filling. The taste was still great for all of it and it came with some kind of chimichurri adjacent sauce on the side that was maybe the best thing about the empanada. The second choice was less of an empanada and more of a tart or small pie? It had cheese and corn for the filling and was extremely gooey. Like more gooey than it had any right to be. I don't need to tell you that the combination of crust, cheese, and corn was delicious. If anything it was maybe a little too simple but I could eat that any day of the week and be happy. I got a wonderful table outside under some shade and gave my baby daughter some bites of the meat filling. She loved it. Left after drinking two more cups of the standard mate and felt amazing.

Last Sunday (on the day many were getting ready for their Super Bowl gatherings), I was busy running some errands in Sunnyside neighborhood. All of a sudden, the thought of eating to entertain my 70% empty stomach hit me, I searched for the word "empanada" as I wanted some finger food and this restaurant came up in my search. Upon finding out that it was about 5-10 minutes away from where I was, it was a no brainer to me. This is a Venezuelan restaurant with almost 5-star review. Not knowing much about Venezuelan cuisine, my first thought was that they might have similar dishes as the surrounding South American countries like Columbia do. But most of all, I was so eager to try their empanadas. I've had Argentinian, El Salvadorian, Columbian and Nicaraguan versions of empanadas in the past. I wondered how different Venezuelan ones would be... I was warmly greeted by a young lady upfront upon arrival. This is a small/family style restaurant. The number of tables is very limited but you can sit outside as long as the weather permits. There was a large table of 7-9 people having a birthday party. I think I hit the place during the peak lunch time. Their empanadas are priced at $8 range. This was a bit pricey to me at the first glance but since I didn't know what kind of portion size they'd be made in, I thought I'd give them a try. I got me Reina Pediada, Sweet Domino and Fish. The total came to $27 with some change. Yup, you usually don't pay this much for a few to several empanadas but hey, like I said, I decided not to judge at that point. The young lady who took my order impressed me with some careful attention to detail. I placed my sunglasses at the ordering counter where the space was very limited. She had to move them just a little when she placed the credit card receipt for me to sign it. "I worked in the optics before." is what she said when she gently placed my sunglasses a little to the side in a very careful way. What a kind/considerate gesture that was! This kind of minor and yet incredible care didn't escape my notice. Thank you!!! When my food was ready, the same young lady handed me my bag. It was quite heavy. As soon as I got to my car, I opened it and there they were; my beautiful empanadas were large and dense/heavy!! They appeared to be all deep-fried so I wonder if Venezuelan style empanadas are all that way? Not sure. Anyway, I was on my way to a job duty so I had to eat quickly. I started to take a bite out of each one and ohhh yes, they were dense with a lot of fillings inside. Although I must frankly say that I like the flaky baked kind of empanadas more, these Venezuelan ones were equally impressive. Yes, this was a surprise find. I will definitely stop by here when I'm in the neighborhood for sure.
