Other reviews mention the same thing. They also replaced locally grown cilantro with cilantro grown in Mexico, without any note or explanation. Getting fresh, locally sourced food is literally the only reason we order from them. We had an order that was supposed to be delivered on Thanksgiving morning (that's what it said on their newsletter), but it arrived on Friday instead. When we contacted customer service, they gave defensive response that three minutes after we placed the order, the system updated to the "correct" delivery date, even though their newsletter said they don't deliver on that date. The response didn't actually address the lack of clarity about the delivery date. They even once included a slip of paper with someone else's name, phone number, and address. We're done with this place.

Wherever we travel, we love checking out the local farmers market! We ran into this farmers market meeting a friend for a hike. We were too early since they don't open until 10am. Afterwards, we came back to check it out. Love the sense of community. It got really busy with some vendors having long lines. Fresh vegetables, fruit, amazing cider, meat, cheese, fresh oysters, fresh mushrooms, bread and baked goods. And, of course, gorgeous fresh flowers!! The food options are great with grilled salmon and breakfast sandwiches. We left with fresh apricots, cherries and a bottle of Apple Cider. Parking on side streets can get full near the farmers market. It gets quite busy. There are no bathrooms. It is also dog friendly.

I recommend Lady Jaye for lunch, Bakery Nouveau for baked goods, and Panterelli for beverages and dessert! It got quite busy at times at several stands, but it went quickly and everyone was chill about it. It was not chaotic or stressful at all, no claustrophobic vibes here. It was also fun to people watch to see what other patrons were buying. Many people were out with the entire family and pets and enjoying the great weather. The way they speak and look at white men is way different than how they talk to us. They watch and shake their head at my daughter even though we are having fun naming the different veggies, they allow white customers to cut us as we are standing very clearly ready to pay. I always buy a variety of overpriced items from pizza to plants to fruits, and yet my purchases feel unappreciated. I love to support local small business. This is the most ubiquitous bakery farmers market stand in the Seattle area. According to their website, they are at 18 different farmers market locations in the Seattle area during the summer. It is not limited to Seattle only locations as they are at the Bellevue, Burien, Issaquah and Mukilteo markets to name a few. Their farmers market selection includes multiple types of croissants, caneles, kouign amann, bags of madeleines and several types of bread. Prices are on par with other French bakeries in Seattle. Though they will likely seem pricey to a tourist. Price aside, the quality is good and some of the best French pastries you can find in the area. I do like that they are at farmers markets all around town as it makes more accessible to get their goods without having to go to one of their brick and mortar locations.

They offered some very intriguing sweet and savory dessert combinations, interesting enough that I decided to preorder the entire pack. Pickup was pretty easy, especially since I decided to line up for some poke as well. SRW One of Everything Bundle ($35) - This bundle comes with 8 total items, four rice crispies and four cookies: Crispy - All four flavors come with a base of tender rice crispies, mixed in the perfect ratio with marshmallow, allowing them to remain fluffy and soft squares instead of becoming dense and hard to chew. They are sweetened and then combined with bold savory flavors, which makes for interesting flavor combinations that aren't unwelcome, albeit not something that I'd eat too often. Kimchi Fried Rice - This one gives off a deep savoriness to start. Only a slight spice rears up later after sweetness envelops the taste buds. It's not particularly funky, so the gochujang probably isn't too strong. There's the additional umami complexity from the dried seaweed shredded on top. This is the most balanced flavor profile out of the four; it's strongly flavored, but not like getting punched in the face like the other three. Umami Garlic - Really overpoweringly strong umami notes in this square. It's like eating straight MSG with sugar. Thai Coconut Curry - Interestingly this one is very pale colored. It's nicely coconutty sweet which then transitions to a light spicy note. The base flavor tastes almost exactly like the jar of Thai yellow curry spice mixture I have in my pantry! Japanese Curry - This one is really yellow in color. It's a really fragrant spice mixture with tons of aromatic allium notes in the curry. It's really strongly flavored, like stronger than actually eating Japanese curry. All the above - really interesting and unique flavor combinations. I'm glad I tried them, but they aren't for me! I feel like the baker, David, really wanted to express the savory flavors. He certainly succeeds in that aspect, but they are just way too strong for my tastes. For example, the two curries are usually eaten with bland rice, which helps to temper down some of the stronger flavors to make a more balanced dish. These crispies are seasoned to the max and the flavors are like a punch to the face with a 10 ton truck. Onto the cookies: Miso Caramel Turon - This is a chewy sugar cookie glazed with a thick caramel that crackles like crème brulee topping, almost burnt sugar-like. It's stuffed with a jackfruit banana paste that's really strongly jackfruit flavored. Morita Gochujang S'mores - The base is sweet and slightly crumbly, tasting of wheat. Melted bittersweet chocolate is applied above that, then finally a square marshmallow at the top. That marshmallow is certainly something. It's super smoky, funky, and yet really sweet and somewhat spicy. Ube Confetti - This cookie has a deep purple color from the ube. It's hard to get ube flavor without extract and I'm not sure how much he uses given that the cookie isn't very strongly ube flavored. Instead it kind of tastes like a sugar cookie with slight earthiness. It's nice and chewy inside and it's dressed with a bit of sweet frosting and some really thin and unevenly cut sprinkles on top that seem to be hand made. The cookie texture is surprisingly vegan. It's honestly indistinguishable from a non-vegan cookie. Strawberry Matcha Latte - This one actually smells deeply of matcha and the taste does have a kind of bitter grassy flavor, mixed with bits of dehydrated strawberries. Quite pleasing. It's studded with white chocolate chips which are somewhat chalky due to being oat milk instead of dairy. I find Butter Bandit Bakery to be really difficult to rate. I think the techniques used and the base quality of both the crispies and the cookies is really good. It's just those flavor combinations, especially the sweet/savory ones, are a little too much for me, even though I consider myself an adventurous eater!
