I can't believe I'm just driving across the country, and just happened to find this place next to the freeway in Nebraska, next to a gas station! Great Mexican food, great margaritas, excellent, warm, friendly service, cool place and vibe. The service is very welcoming, the food was great! My margaritas were spectacular! My cheese enchiladas... excellent! But, the margaritas were really, really great! Served in a shaker on ice, so I could pour them up, no ice in a cocktail glass. The way it is supposed to be served! I often stay in Sidney for travel. There are really few options for dining there. I have now tried Margaritas twice. It's OK. Nothing to write home about. They serve chips and salsa before the meal. The chips are fine. The salsa needs work. It's almost like tomato water. The food, it's OK. Somewhat bland for Mexican food. The beans they serve with a combo are almost like bean soup. I find that off-putting. Margaritas are served warm with some ice cubes in it. They are just OK, too. You need to let the Margarita sit for a while to get cold. Every cushioned bench in the place has holes in it. Not a comfy place to eat dinner. I get it. Sidney is a little stop that most people drive by. There are few dining options that are noteworthy. Honestly, if you are in Sidney, just go to McDonald's and get a double cheeseburger. You won't be as disappointed. read more

Big delay when the food was brought out, as they couldn't take my debit card due to internet problems. Asked me to go to an ATM and get cash. Wouldn't accept the lesser amount of cash I had. Finally left credit card info with the staff. By this time the food was stone cold. Got home and discovered there were no tortillas with the veggie fajita order. Out of time. Got tortillas at a close grocery store. Called and talked to the manager. Got no apology or promise of any compensation. Very poor way to do business. Will not be returning. read more

Absolutely a great mexican restaurant. Im from California and eat mexican food alot. Their carne asada here in the burrito was definitely upgraded meat. It was very tender! My son liked his wet carne asada burrito, minus the wet (sauce). I tried his burrito and yes it was very tender. My chili colorado was very tasty as well. The restaurant was very clean and we had good service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Im coming back here every time i pass through Sidney, which is twice a year. read more

We went in knowing it wouldn't be authentic Mexican food and we were alright with that as long as it was prepared well. It wasn't. 2 out the 3 enchiladas were flavorless (the chipotle one was alright) and the rice were mushy. My dad's beans tasted burnt and his enchiladas rancheras were not good either. The complementary salsa tasted like it was on the verge of being marinara sauce. I think the high ratings this restaurant has are from people who haven't had great Mexican food. read more

This was a little surprise in Sidney. In small town it is rare to find independent family owned restaurants. Your choices are usually Subway, Pizza Hut or Casey's for dinner. Margaritas had an extensive menu with really good Mexican food. The portions were large, our family of 5 had free chips and salsa, appetizer queso fundido, chicken fajita, mole enchilada with chicken, enchilada deluxe with chicken and pollo asado. I did not order anything, I did family style from everyone's meals. They were all delicious. We also order two margaritas and a mojito. The drinks were large and only $3 because it was happy hour. Dad and I are on a road trip to Omaha, NE as I start my new job there on Monday. Sidney, NE is our stopping point for the night. Out comes my smart phone and I tap my Yelp app and search for restaurants in the area. What could possibly be here in a town of less then 7K? I was surprised when Margaritas popped up with a strong 8 reviews. We get into the car and head there after reading the reviews. This is a hidden gem. It's one of those places you might disregard because it's right off the freeway and attached to a gas station. DON'T!!! Stop here, make it a point to make this a place to get gas and something to eat. Tuesday night and the place is hopping. It smells good when you walk in, that scent of mexican food hits you right in the face. The staff is friendly to be sure. I did notice one of the guys would walk around with a broom and dustpan often, a good sign. Dad and I watched some of the plates come out of the kitchen and noticed the size of the portions. They are huge! We should have ordered one item and split it but we came to that decision to late. I ordered the Burrito Loco with steak. Dad ordered the chicken fajitas and a margarita. I couldn't finish the burrito nor could Dad finish his. The burrito had whole beans rather then refried, they were moist and tender. The steak was marinated well and also tender. There was just enough bite of spice to round it out. It wasn't drowned in red sauce, I was very happy about that. Dad said the fajitas were very tasty but a little on the bland side; though they do give you the options to adjust the spice. Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon. No outside seating unfortunately but barely anyone in there so I sat at the bar. Just a regular Mexican restaurant, nothing fancy. Most of the staff were wearing masks, which I like. It seemed like 2 women were doing all the work while the guys stood around, so the service wasn't all it could be, but they did as well as they could. Food was very good! Coming from San Antonio I was surprised to find good Mexican food in Nebraska. Margaritas weren't special but they were big and cheap. I really liked it. Easy access from I80 so a lot of interstate traffic, but I was amazed there were mostly locals dining. Food was fantastic, service excellent.
