I've been to Santiago's in Greeley, Johnstown, Loveland, and longmont. I would say all those places are a solid, four stars. Loveland probably five, but this one was by far the worst. Inside the building was freezing, my food was also cold. My street taco corn tortillas were hard and falling apart when you folded them. The good things I have to say, is that the chili was still spicy, and the staff was friendly. But I probably won't be coming back here.. read more

Thanks for totally screwing up our order. We ordered ahead of time because we were driving through. There were supposed to be 6 breakfast burritos with no meat and no cheese. Instead it was no egg and cheese. I don't eat meat. We live 3 and a half hours away and we won't be coming through there again. That was a waste of my money because I won't eat it. I only go for breakfast burritos and they are always great. There is usually a lady at the front desk who is a machine! This morning she was waiting on people, tacking phone calls and dealing with take outs. My card didn't go through so she had to manually type it in and she just kept working! Quality and quantity is not great for the price. An order of churros gets you four little sticks for $3. I ordered the three enchiladas, listed at $7.50.... but if you order three different fillings, they charge you the individual price which comes up to much more. That should be listed or at least mentioned when a customer is ordering. Not a great experience. read more

I love Santiago's the food is good the staff is kind and friendly! Only issue I have is the prices seem to change when we get breakfast burritos. I'm out of town and came to look for a Mexican restaurant and what a disappointment. This ain't like back home, that was some messed up "Authentic" garbage. I didn't even finish the plate only ate the sides because of how bad the food was, the tacos didn't look edible the meat wasn't what it supposed to be the tortillas were cold and stale as if they were warmed up in the microwave they kept sending the guy out with different plates that weren't what we even ordered I understand people make mistakes but it kept happening over and over and the lady didn't even care to come and check up on us or to see what was the problem as in why were the plates going back to the kitchen. Other people got served before us when we got there first. Other than that my guest and I didn't feel comfortable because of the stares coming from other boomer customers. Their little Code of Respect hung up on the wall is contradicting especially for the older lady with grey hair she needs to read over it. More like Lack of Respect. The man from the kitchen sent our food and it was completely wrong, however the man is not at fault he was being played a fool by the gray haired lady at the desk. He deserves more because he didn't even know to who the food was for and what the tacos were. I see they aren't committed to what they do over at some Colorado suburb. I just want to say if you want to eat actual Mexican food please don't come here you will not be satisfied and end up paying overpriced food that doesn't even seem edible. First off let me say the food is great. Prices are fair. Service sometimes is ok. Parking is a joke there. There just to busy, they need a larger place. But out of the maybe 20 times I've been there this is the 3rd or 4th time it seems they lose my order. I understand they were busy, but when about 10 people come in after you and they all get served before you, and I mentioned about my order before they were served. You would think they would get it fixed. But then I seen a person come from a table and order something to go and then they get there food in about 1 minute. That was enough. I just said please refund my money and they replied that, that will take a long time to find my receipt even though I had my copy in my hand. So I said, just give me the 14$ and change in cash, they said they couldn't do that. Again not happy so I waited longer. ( side note, I heard the waitress ask the for my food about 8 times but they kept bringing other orders out. ) Finally I received my food while previously I was told it would help to call your order in ahead. ( I don't want to call in 6 breakfast burritos, they didn't tell the other people that ) I was told to have patients ( I thought I did ) I was told Im sorry about 6 or 7 times ( sorry means squat when its not meant, its one of the most misused words there is. You need to mean it when you say it.) Even though I didn't ask for free or discounted food, It would have been a polite jester for the poor customer service. Finally it shouldn't take 20 minutes to get 6 breakfast burritos, when I been in there before when its busy and it takes less then 5 minutes other times. I've given you a fair review. The food is incredible! We are from Texas and eat a lot of Tex-Mex. This restaurant could take on the best in Texas.

So we always go and never had any issue but apparently today we asked for a chicharron burrito without beans and it couldn't be made like that. i can't believe I drove all this way for work and at lunch my coworker picks a place that we have in Denver? Really. Well I have to say of the 4 or 5 Santiago's I've eaten at (or gotten food from) this is one of the better ones. My huevos rancheros was as it should be, eggs cooked over easy, good frijoles, crispy hash browns, nice heat to the hot green chile, and the corn tortillas weren't dried up or hard, my coworkers burrito was devoured rather savagely so I can only assume it was good. We always take out because the dining is absolutely horrible. The young lady on the cash register exhibits a I don't give a (d#%^*+) attitude. My last two take out orders were prepared wrong. Today, two enchilada dinners lacked rice and beans. I was all the way home when we noticed this. We called and let the young lady on the register know. She did not apologize, did not say she was sorry. I returned to pick up the rice and beans. I would've thought that they would be waiting for me when I arrived. They weren't. I had to wait once again. I asked what happened, to the rice and beans not being in the container. She said we just forgot. And turned around and walked away. No apology. No I'm sorry. No customer service to try and make up for poor service. This little lady needs to be fired. She is a horrible representative for Santiago's good name. read more

We discovered this place a few years ago on a family road trip to Colorado, and now we stop ritually every year. The food is good- but anything smothered in the chili is fantastic. The hot chile is enough to make you sweat a little. Very friendly staff, quick service and good prices. read more

This is the best Mexican place I have found in Sterling. It's a small homey place with authentic food, not texmex or colomex. I would order tamales here and expect them to be homemade. They have beer and a festive atmosphere. read more

I've been eating here for years and I used to enjoy it but it seems like lately the service has gone way downhill. We ordered a pretty basic meal and it took way longer than I was hoping. People who arrived long after we did were getting their orders long before we got ours. When we finally did get our order it wasn't complete, but because I was in a rush to get back to work I politely asked if it could just be cancelled off our order. When we went to pay for the meal, it was still on the ticket, so I asked for a refund - I wasn't upset at this point, I understand it's a busy lunch rush and the place was packed. Typical Tex-Mex food. Chips were cold and left a greasy feel in your mouth if eaten plain but the salsa was amazing and more than made up for it. Food came out in a reasonable time and was good. The dining area is small and a bit noisy if you want to visit, but over all a nice experience. read more

This used to be our go-to place for our "Taco Tuesdays", but it seems that the food and service has gone down hill in the last year. I'm a sucker for giving places I consider favorites at least 3 chances, hoping that maybe it was just a bad day, but we are officially through with this restaurant. The first time, our server was terrific, but there was a woman talking really loud on her cell phone. I thought she was another customer waiting for her order. When our server told us she was leaving for the day and she was passing us over to another server, we found out that it was the woman on the phone. That woman was extremely rude, and God forbid we asked for drink refills that we never received from her. I made it a point to tip the other gal before we left. The second time was a carry-out, where that same rude woman acted like we were interrupting her fun in the kitchen...very short with us, and the food was greasy and thrown together. The final straw, well, I hate to say, was the same woman, this time sitting and visiting with another customer. When we came in to place our to-go order, she (again) acted as if we were interrupting her. Short with us again, and after she handed me the credit slip to sign, she went and sat back down before the pen hit the slip. She held out the bag with our food and said, 'have a good night' in a tone that said 'take your food and get out'. That food was worse than the last meal, the tacos only having about a teaspoon of beef in the middle of the shell, and was so salty, we couldn't finish them.
