A local favorite that never lets me down. I've been eating here for decades, and the Frito Pie and soft shell tacos are still as good as ever. Good food, great people, and the kind of place that becomes a tradition. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

I was born & raised on Baja Tacos and have a theory... if you're from here.. you seriously get ADDICTED and cannot live without... and very rarely there comes along a smart person form but if town that loves it like we do but more often than not yku have to get acquired as it is not like your normal Mexican or tex-mex food... it is its own brand & by golly get acquired because it is cheaper than most, delicious & not to mention the owners are amoungst some of the nicest people i think I've ever met read more

Been there when they first opened and still go there now Great food and friendly staff

Been going to this place all my life. No longer living in the area, it's a stop that I don't make very often. While the signature taste is still there, they didn't mark our super hot soft taco and the one that was mild, resulting in one of our group not eating. read more

I was on a road trip and saw Baja Tacos, it looked like a local restaurant so I decided to try it. The taco was amazing, also I ordered the combination burrito (beef and bean). The beans overpowered the beef, it tasted okay if you enjoy bean burritos. Overall, this was good and affordable food. read more

A full 5 stars. Like many locals, I grew up eating at this unique establishment and what I've often found is that folks whether natives or not either enthusiastically love this place or else not at all. What I do know is that the establishment is clean, the preparation area is mostly in full view, service is prompt and the food is hot, fresh and delicious and my tip is to ask for extra sauce on the side offered either hot, extra hot or super hot. My top choices are the monster pie (a double portioned frito pie) or else the chili burger which is an open face type burger of taco meat on a bun smothered in their chilii. I also always ask for tomatoes (if you don't you won't get them on your food) as well as extra onions. Guacamole tostadas, the soft shells and enchiladas are also all good options too! read more

Baja Tacos - the outside of a restaurant at night - Mexican Near Me - Sterling, Colorado

I don't get it, this place stinks. Sterling people love it, but I'd prefer Taco Bell over this joint. Poor taste, greasy taste, not cheap, kind of dirty. What's not to love. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews here. This place is awesome. My sister had the cheese enchiladas and they were soooo delicious. They make all their own seasonings, so it's very authentic. You should really check this place out. read more

Sorry but this place did not have good burritos. Of course I am from San Antonio and we do mexican in a whole different way. But the Tortillas almost tasted raw and the filling was not seasoned. Disappointing at best. read more

When we first moved to Sterling Baja's was all we heard about. We've tried it a couple times and just can't do their hamburger, it has no texture it's just mush. read more

I'd describe Baja Taco as OK. I would not go out of my way to get there but since there aren't any restaurants close to the highway it worked OK for both the adults and kids on our cross country trip. They were fast and prices we inexpensive. They use processed nacho cheese and prepackaged guacamole. read more

I love this place to pieces. Every time I go home to Colorado to visit my parents, I MUST eat here (at least twice). The food is sooooooooooo good, it's cheap, and to me, it just tastes different (better) than other taco joints. If you go, try a Frito Pie and/or Chili Burger (two of my favorites). The Enchiladas are also super tasty. The only bummer thing (which still can't make me reduce the 5 star rating to 4 stars) is that the place is super duper small. I like to get my food to go because it's unlikely I'll have anywhere to sit unless I hover over people at other tables waiting for them to leave. read more

This place is just a mom and pop Taco Bell. At least Taco Bell is half a$$ good. Ground beef tacos with more lettuce than anything.

Service was pleasant but the food was terrible. Got a chimichanga and a couple tacos. Chimi was swimming in sauce (literally) and I had to fish for it to find out where to dig in. Tacos were not very good as the meat was very mushy and watery. From the reviews I've read, I was hoping for a little more. I hope things are a little better next time I'm in Sterling. read more

5 stars 100%. Incredible food at very affordable prices. The Monster Pie is incredible and I highly recommend BAJA If you're ever in Sterling

Love Baja, I grew up here so it's been lots of years going here. The sauce is the addicting part get a few extra cups on the side.

This place was really good for fast Mexican food! Prices weren't bad either for the servings. Only reason I gave a 4 is because I would prefer chicken & corn tortillas & all they have is ground beef & flour tortillas or hard shell corn. Otherwise, I got a beef & bean burrito with fresh lettuce & shredded cheese & a soft taco with sides of guacamole & sour cream, very tasty. I also got some rice & i must say, it was impressive. Would recommend if looking for quick, tasty & affordable tex-mex in Sterling. read more

A spot you have to visit if you are in Sterling. Jack amd the crew work hard and you can tell.

If you're looking for ultra-authentic mexican food, this is not the right place for you. However, if enjoy great tex mex, this place is love supreme! I must admit that I'm addicted to the food at this place as it's the first stop whenever I travel through Sterling. I usually order two tacos with an enchilada. The enchiladas and frito pies are their masterpieces! read more

WowzA! What a gem. Looking for a place to stop on the way through Colorado and we totally lucked out. Being from San Diego, the Mexican food was so good, I'm writing home. We had enchiladas which were better then any California enchis I've ever had! Highly recommended! read more

I just don't understand the local hype about this place. The eating area is super tiny, the food is bland and the variety is almost non-existent. I'd rather have Taco Bell. read more

Ordered a chilli burger. Warning NOT a chilli burger. They should really have a disclaimer! Their "chilli burger" was the bottom 1/2 of a bun, topped with the same meat as their tacos, completely drenched in nasty/not the worst I had chilli, topped with some cheese, and then served in a bowl with a spork. Wasn't horrible, but definitely not what I was expecting. read more

We had to drive all the way across town. (we were staying at the Ramada Inn) It was quite a drive but oh so worth it. Hands down the best Tex-Mex in town. This place outs taco bell to shame. Must try the frito pie and tacos. This place has it going on! read more

Coming from South Dakota, this is the first place we stop for tacos. It is not a place for ambiance; it is a place for really good and inexpensive tacos. They have other menu items, but I always order two hard shell and one soft for less than $5. I leave happy and full. The place is really small but the staff is super friendly and efficient. read more

This place is the most nasty rude place that don't care about your return as a cusumer.me and my wife went to try there food on September 27th 20021 we ordered the beef chimichanga with sides of rice and beans, total price was about $21.oo we went to a nice park to eat and about two bites into the food we notice the rice and beans were not at all vary tasty in fact they were the worst instant food like product to say the least as for the chimichanga it was not fried as they are to be prepared and the chili for that fact is a sad red souce with no taste what so ever ,when we took it back for a refund they could see it was not touched beyond two bites . Then I was asked of I would like to try any thing else I pelitly declined and ask for a refund ,that's when the rudeness started like I was in the wrong and offended them ,then I was told the they don't give refunds ,even the son of the owner said as if what do you expect for the price I asked them if they know how to prepare a chimichanga, the told me that they were pre made and chimichangas are not always fried , WOW so no refund no apology I was so stunned that all I could do is leave it after all I wouldn't give the sorry what ever it was, not food that's for sure, to a homeless person in fear that they would be offended... Don't eat there I warn you.. unless you don't have taste buds. read more

This place is terrible. The "ground beef" was the only choice for taco filling and it is questionable that it is really meat. We stopped while driving through based on other reviews and it was awful. read more

To be honest, I'm not sure why they put an 's' at the end of their name because it's just not truthful. There is only one, singular taco at this establishment, and it isn't good. I mean, if cheap hamburger meat and store bought tortillas are your thing, go for it, but I bet you could do better at home. read more

Very impressive for a tiny little restarunt . The owner Kaitlyn is very personable and kind with her customers. I have only been there a few times because it's a little far from me and she knows me by name. The food is GREAT for the price and taste fresh and all natural with unique flavors, very home styler like. I love this place. read more

The one and only. Great place to stop when traveling thru town. I hole in the wall style local spot with delicious food at amazing prices. Friendly staff with quick service. I've been eating here for over 20 years and it's a must have every time I'm in town. read more

Not bad for a local place. Got soft shell tacos; very large! Very filling and good. Not authentic Mexican but pretty good. Good price too.

Pretty bland, definitely not true Mexican Food.... It doesn't matter what you order, it all tastes the same
