I had high hopes as this was recommended by another business owner in the area. Got street tacos and they weren't even OK. Dry, as if the meat was sitting there all day...shrimp, chicken, carnitas and asada..all dry and lacking flavor. And I get that street tacos are small, fine, but 4 of them for 14 bucks is just not cool. I was still hungry AH after eating them. Tiny, with tiny chopped pieces of meat. We actually got food poisoning from me Ranchero! We got the combination fajitas that included shrimp and chicken for two; and we both got deathly ill for the next two days! My daughter and I went there about six months later, and the food was bland at best and the service was horrible! The restaurant really needs to be updated! Service is horrible. I was extremely offended. I'm a white guy, and the Hispanic waitress was overtly rude to me. I happen to speak Spanish too, and a Hispanic male came into to pickup his call in order, and she said to him, in Spanish, "you're smarter than the white guy, you called in to order your food. Had lunch there today. My wife loves the buffet but it consists mainly of cheese enchiladas, beans, rice, and soup. None of that appeals to me so I ordered the stuffed sopapilla. Waitress came back 5 minutes later and informed me they were out of stuffed sopapillas and she apologized. Mind you, it was 11:40 am. How do you run out of an item before noon​?! So I ordered the burrito deluxe from their combination plates. $15.95 was the price. Menu stated that all combos came with beans and rice. I got the plate with a very small amount of rice and no beans. I asked the waitress where my beans were. She informed me that only the pork and avocado burrito came with beans and rice on the side and my beans were in my burrito! Really?! Are beans and rice that expensive now that I only got a size for a child?! Ridiculous, plus I barely got a dribbling of green chili over the buritto. The taste was nothing special, just another beef burrito. I am VERY disappointed on what I was served and at a cost $15.95 for a combo plate that had little more than just a buried is robbery!! That plate wasn't worth more than $10!! The service was nice and attentive but that is all the good I can say. Not the first time this place has disappointed me. We got stuck in Sterling while a storm passed and accidentally found this restaurant. My husband grew up having carnitas made by his grandpa and made the comment that it's the best carnitas he's had since his grandpa passed. I'm a die hard carnitas eater and I have to agree, hands down best carnitas. Besides that, the beans, rice and salsa were excellent and as if that wasn't enough, the service was great! We'll definitely make this a stop anytime we're passing through! read more

I ordered a beef burrito smothered with green chili and no tomatoes. Due to virus I phoned ion my order then went in and picked it up. The place was packed on a Saturday night and no one but the staff was wearing a mask! When I received my order there was no green chili at all, even though I was charged extra for it, and the side of guac was horrible! Tasted like sour tomatoes or too much lemon/lime juice. This used to be my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Sterling. But dinner there with family last night turned me off from going there again. 1). Slow, slow service, 2) food was just OK - not very flavorful, 3) the setting sun brightness through the west wall windows was so blinding it was uncomfortable, 4) margaritas were watery and weak, and the coup de grace: my brother ordered the special, Rocky Mountain Oysters. Everyone knows what they are, right? ... a dish made of bull testicles. The organs are often deep-fried after being peeled, coated in flour, pepper and salt, and sometimes pounded flat. (In NE Colorado, these are a staple). The waitress asked my brother if he wanted 6 or 12 to which he said, "I guess I'd better have 12." (He really likes them.) You should have seen his face when, 45 minutes later, the waitress put a very large plate before him of raw oysters on the 1/2 shell, with lime!!! We asked the waitress if she knew what Rocky Mountain Oysters were and she said she didn't but that's what they were told they were. I went out to check the specials sign to make sure we didn't misread. Nope, Rocky Mountain Oysters it said but we did miss the lime and ice on the sign. Question: where in the Rockies do Oysters grow? We had a pretty good laugh at my brother's expense and didn't have to pay for them, bro sent them back. read more

We stumbled across this place quite by accident, looking for coffee on the 4th of July, but since every coffee place was closed, we decided for lunch instead. We drove by this place, and it looks very unassuming from the outside, but gave it a try based on the other reviews here. I am from Arizona, and I am a Mexican Foodie in every sense. I will say that Mi Ranchito is now in my top 5 favorite places anywhere - the chips are warm and homemade, and the salsas (she brought 2 different ones) are fresh, zingy, and spicy, but not too spicy. I had the Chile Relleno and Cheese Enchilada with a bean tostada, and they were all superb - great sauces, plentiful portions, and I really just couldn't get enough. My son (6 years old) got the cheese nachos, and even those were awesome - several different cheeses melted perfectly with different textures and flavors...yum! Really authentic - very flavorful - very fast and friendly service....yum-tastic! read more

This hidden gem in the tiny northeastern Colorado town of Sterling offers delicioso authentic Mexican food at a low low price. We rolled in at 1:00 pm on a sleepy Sunday and a few tables of locals were enjoying a late lunch. At first glance this little whole in the wall seems slighty sketchy with a tv playing vh1 and a newborn sleeping beside it with a half finished bottle in it's lap. The Tecate piñata, plastic tablecloths and Mexican blanket curtains give it that straight outta Tijuana feel. The servers were both very welcoming and hospitable. Our food arrived quickly and we even had to wait for a moment to let it cool. I dug into my combo plate with gusto. It included a chicken relleno, chicken taco and chicken enchilada with a side of rice and beans. Everything was perfect but the relleno stood out as the best I've ever had with it's obscenely fresh poblano pepper that melted in my mouth. My travel companion cleaned his combo plate as well which was all beef and although he enjoyed it immensely he was a tad jealous of my relleno. Since we were on the road Michael only got a few sips of my perfectly mixed, giant $4 margarita. If you ever find yourself driving down interstate 76 take a detour and discover best dang relleno outside of Mexico. read more

I was not disappointed I had the Fajitas Tejanas (it has a mix of beef, chicken and shrimp) my wife had the Shrimp wrapped with bacon. Both of our dishes were more than what we expected.
