Walked in expecting a juicy, hand-crafted burger. Walked out feeling like I just paid gourmet prices for something I could've pulled out of the freezer section at Walmart. The patty was so obviously frozen it should've come with frostbite warnings. You know that flavorless, spongy texture that screams "mass-produced mystery meat"? Yeah, that was my lunch. I half expected to hear the ding! of a microwave from the kitchen. Honestly, if I wanted a hockey puck, I'd have gone to Dick's Sporting Goods. At least there I'd get something durable. The bun was fine, the toppings were trying their best, but no amount of lettuce or sauce can save a burger that tastes like it's been hibernating since last winter. Save your money. This place has solid pub/bar food. You're probably not gonna find your next favorite dish but you'll eat a good sandwich/burger. The atmosphere is fun and the staff were great. For wheelchair accessibility, there were a few obstructions on the ramp however when those were brought to the notice of the staff, they immediately started to rectify the situation, which was really refreshing. Went to this so-called "burger joint" last night, and wow--never again. The patties were clearly frozen, probably straight out of a cheap grocery bag. Dry, gray, and rubbery like something you'd find in a middle school cafeteria. The bun was stale, lettuce wilted, and the whole thing reeked of laziness. How are you charging real money for this? Decent eatery/bar. A dedicated bar area and a dedicated restaurant part too, didn't see the patio. Food is passable for something a bit better than average fried bar food options. "Smoked Brisket" was not brisket or smoked/BBQed, it was sliced up beef with BBQ sauce added. Has several TVs with satellite feeds, one of which was playing rodeos from the Cowboy Channel so thats a plus. Not a lot in town so it gets 4 stars any other town it would get 3. read more

New to town. Opening a business in Sterling. First place I've been to that I can honestly say they could have cared less if they had my business or not. I got there at 855pm on Sunday and there was one other Patron in the restaurant besides me. The staff seemed more inconvenienced that I was there instead of making me feel welcome. If you want to see how NOT to run a bar/restaurant, come here. The food is all frozen and half-assed. The waitresses don't make eye contact and don't know the products they are selling. Instead of checking on your table they would rather do shots with a table adjacent from you. And when they ask, "how's everything?" They time and walk away before you can answer. read more

Just staying the night off the interstate while we were traveling home from vacation. Took my wife and kids here cause nothing else was open in town. Food was "ok"....Seems like a nice lil bar if you wanted to stop for drinks. Our waitress seemed nice but the rest of the staff seemed to be talking shit behind the bar. I was hesitant after reading the other reviews, but decided to stop and give this place a try on my way through town as I was waiting out a nasty looking storm. When I pulled up to the restaurant, there was an alarming amount of smoke coming from the outdoor grill/pit area. Two of the staff members were battling a fire that had gotten out of control on the cooking area. By the time I got off my bike and all my gear put away, the fire had been tamed, but whatever piece of meat (chicken?) was torched. Surprisingly, this event did not sway me to a change of heart and I walked into the restaurant. I seated myself as no one seemed to be playing a host or hostess and no one rushed over to direct me to a table. That's fine, it was mid-afternoon on a Sunday and there was only one other table of patrons. The server/bartender quickly brought me a menu and took my order. She suggested the pulled pork sandwich and I took her up on it with a side of onion rings. She was prompt at bringing my beverage and my food arrived very shortly. I ordered it with the "spicy" bbq sauce. The onion rings seemed to be the typical frozen variety most restaurants serve, but were cooked well and had a nice crisp to them, but they were nothing special. The pulled pork sandwich came with a generous mound of pork that had a very nice smoke to it. The meat was cooked perfectly and was still very moist. The bun it was served on was fresh and held up to the heft of the meat. The sauce was decent, though it was far from spicy. It did have a nice tang, likely from vinegar. The meal was very filling and hit the spot. Overall, it was a surprisingly present experience, given the reviews I read and the debacle with the grill when I pulled up. If I find myself needing a meal in Sterling again, I won't hesitate to stop here to try other options. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Sterling, Colorado. The customer service is excellent, the prices are very affordable and you get a lot of food. I always get steak when I go there and I have to give them credit. I have eaten at some of the finest steak houses around the country and the steaks at Hootenannies ranks right up there with the best of them. The last steak that I had was so tender, I was able to cut it with a butter knife. We will continue to go to Hootenannies as often as possible. read more

The food smells amazing but I wouldn't know about how the food or drink actually tastes. We waited for a waitress for 45 minutes on a dead night; she refused to acknowledge our existence. We left and she didn't even noticed. Starving we went the the Bistro 15 minutes before closing and we still had full menu options. Just go to the Bistro. read more
