Warm, welcoming and homey. A small diner in the right spot for travelers heading across eastern Colorado. Comfort food that was tasty, quick and hit the spot. If you grew up in the northern plains, you'll quickly recognize this as a place that the locals meet to eat. read more

It is so fun going to Lucy's and having real diner food. I plan to sample a different pie every time I go. They were incredibly generous and made many pies for us for a celebration of life for a dear friend. I didn't sample all of the pies but there was so much appreciation for Lucy's. It is worth the trip! read more

If you're in a rush this may not be the place for you. It's a laid back diner. The staff was super nice. The food was good. I wouldn't say it was great. But it was solid. The fryer stuff was a little over cooked. They don't do waffles or pancakes after a certain time, which I didn't see listed anywhere, so my kids were a little upset. But there's plenty of other stuff to choose from. read more

We picked this place off Yelp. It was farther off our path than we realized. But it was worth the trip. We had and split one of the breakfast burritos and it was enough for the two of us. It was so very good. I think I will try to make one like it myself when home. It was a pleasant visit and we also took a slice of pie with us for a snack later. They had pecan muffins coming out of the oven and we were temped. But we decided the pie was what would fit the bill. It is a very original old time sort of place but we found it to be very charming and they had great food and worth the money and the trip. The red roof did help us recognize it. read more

This little place was great!!!! Has a very homie feeling about. Especially how welcome the people there make you feel as soon as you walk in the door. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Let me tell you when you walk in you smell home cooked meals being prepared. Pies , cinnamon rolls, etc ordered the smothered breakfast burrito and let me tell you the portions are big. This burrito filled up the whole plate. I saved the best for last. Now I have to talk about one of the things that caught my eyes when I walked in. A fresh backed cinnamon roll tray that was at the counter. I got one ASAP it was so soft and gooey. The taste was out of this world. They have pies that I've heard that are amazing. I guess I'll have to stop by again and try them out. I will for sure stop by next time I'm in the area. read more

This place..,what a gem, it's exactly what you think of when you think small hometown diner. The staff was very friendly & the food & service was fast. The giant cinnamon roll was by far my favorite part & a MUST buy. Salad bar was pretty good and had a small variety of homemade items. I would highly recommend this spot off the interstate if you have around 30 mins to spare. read more

We're tired driving so stopped for a quick break. Had their green chilI, very good huge bowl for a great price, freshly baked pecan role, can't wait to have them in the AM for breakfast! Lucy's was by far the best stop we have made in many years of cross country road trips. The food was outstanding... you can't miss the difference in the quality of the beef they raise. The service and atmosphere were a perfect fit This will become a regular stop for us from now on! read more

We stopped here on New Year's Day for breakfast while visiting friends in Julesburg. I tried something new this time and got a sausage breakfast burrito (with all the veggies) smothered in green chili and it was absolutely delicious! A large burrito smothered in flavorful green chili sprinkled with cheese. Since it was New Year's Day they served us traditional black eyed peas with ham for good luck and also had free oranges on all the tables as well. They also brought us a piece of Pina Colada Cake while we were waiting for our food. The service was a little slow but they were fairly busy. And the server was always swinging by the table to see if we needed anything else. We will absolutely be back to this charming, eclectic little diner when we are back in town again. read more

Always a fabulous experience at Lucy's. The hot beef was tender and delicious while the gravy was home cookin' good! Usually I default on the Chicken Fried Steak when I stop at Lucy's (one of the best I've had in the nation!). Had a smothered burrito as carry out. DELICIOUS. The hash browns were "spectacular ". And the cinnamon roll was a great ending. Definitely worth the stop carryout was hot when we picked it up read more

Classic country diner! The food was great. Had eggs, bacon and home fries. The service was exactly what you'd expect in an area like this - you get what you get. They're not here to kiss your ass, they're here to serve you food. And the woman behind the counter talked to me plenty as I sat at the bar for a couple/few hours back and forth today. She refilled my drink for me. They use locally farmed beef and in fact, if I have this right, one of the employees or owner/s has their own cattle. True farm to table, without the pretentious up-charge! So, I've ordered a burger to go, so i'll update tomorrow. I got the last piece of strawberry rhubarb pie to go as well. Check them out! read more

Great food and service. Try the cinnamon rolls. The scrambled eggs and bacon were amazing.

Right off interstate 76.large parking lot. Had no trouble parking our 5th wheel. Interior is a little outdated but the food was delicious. I had a mushroom and Swiss burger ( they called it the Tyson don't know why) fries were hhot and crisp burger juicy hubby had the hahamburger steak and eggs. Also very good . Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us several times. I would receive Lucy's Place for just plain good ol American food. read more

This is a great place to stop on a road trip. The food was good (much better than the fast food places and truck stops). It was a real breakfast. The people were so kind. The owner/cook came out to chat and it was fascinating to hear about her business and family history running cafes. I will stop again and hope you'll help these local folks thrive. read more

A cozy diner in the middle of rural America right off the highway with food made fresh to order and friendly locals. For what it is, it's a five star experience. That is, it's everything you should hope it to be, and if you aren't happy, you probably need to work on your expectations/entitlement. Regulars have their mugs on the walls, there is a variety of pies, everything is from scratch, food tastes good, decor is cute, parking is ample, and there is perfectly helpful staff. Food or service might be slow that day depending on busy level because this isn't New York City. read more

I think this place is a breakfast place from all of the glowing reviews. Because we had lunch here .... and it is definitely a 2 Star at best. The atmosphere is perfect for an old style diner. Small booths. Cozy inside. You feel like you're at your grandma's and she hasn't redecorated since 1950. We tried to order breakfast but were told they were done. There's no sign or indication they don't serve breakfast all day. It's a diner. I can't tell you how many diners serve breakfast all day. But I was informed they have a small griddle so okay, no breakfast. Not 5 minutes later and another table tried to order breakfast. They should just put up a sign. I ordered the grilled cheese. Pretty safe. You can't mess up a grilled cheese and they didn't. The potato chips were just a bag of chips. The kids and hubby ordered the burgers. They said it had an off taste to it ... so I took a bite. Do you remember those 1980 sirloin TV dinners with the foil you had to make in the oven? These burgers tasted SO much like that. They also faintly reminded me of the burgers my elementary cafeteria used to serve us (which my husband also agreed -- he just couldn't place what the taste reminded him of). So try breakfast at your own risk. But I would skip the lunch shift. read more

Exactly what I was hoping for big portions friendly folks , their pies are delicious. And they have a community table for conversations

This place is definitely a relic from an earlier time and it is something of a treasure. Everyone is friendly, generous and the food is delicious and home-cooked! Drove off the highway not sure what to expect. Got a savory patty melt, fries, crunchy freshly fried onion rings, giant coconut cream pie and took a whole sour cream raisin pie to go! Delicious! Freshly whipped cream also, just off the hook! Please visit! read more

Solid, home cooked diner food. My husband had the cheeseburger that was a little over done, but he didn't specify medium, so that could be our fault. My daughter had the fried chicken sandwich which she said was good. The best thing was the patty melt that I had. Perfect! read more

Wow. Definitely a hole in the wall(or field in this case) place but man was I surprised. We went on a busy Sunday around 1 and waited about 10mins for a table to clear up but they were packed and people kept coming in. We ordered the green chili, patty melt and a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie and DO NOT skip on the green chili or pie. Everything tasted super fresh and homemade and you feel like your transported back in time. The green chili had so much flavor and was very hearty. The patty melt was with delicious rye bread, perfectly cooked onions and good quality beef. The pie was so fresh and filled with flavor I was so happy we got the last slice. DO NOT pass this place up. The Buffalo burger was unreal. Crinkle cut fries cooked perfectly, lightly crunchy with a soft center. Chicken fried steak was very good, Mashed potatoes were creamy and the gravy is excellent. You couldn't ask for any better Pies. We had apple, caramel nut and a regular apple, both warm and a la mode. We got a cinnamon roll to go, I have no doubts that it too will be delicious. The locals have quite a gem here. The food isn't the only thing that'll bring us back every time we're in the area, you'll have no complaints about the service either. The ladies were great! read more

Grateful for a quick food stop right off the highway after a long drive back from vacation. Food and service is blast-from-the-past part old school pieced-together diner crossed with your great grandma's kitchen. The bar seats are perplexingly low. We sat along the window (all covered in plastic to keep the A/C in?) had the buffalo burger, patty melt, corn dog, and sweet tea all around. Quick and quaint! Get there early if you want the strawberry rhubarb pie...almost chased the patron down that grabbed the last two pieces. We'd stop again to try the fried chicken. read more

When we arrived, there were flies everywhere. The waitress gave us a fly scattered and we killed 12. The bathrooms were unusable. I ordered Hamburger steak with soup. I never got my soup and the Hamburger was not good. My daughter got a BLT that looked good until she found a hair in it. They made her another one and still charged us for it.
