Located in what I *think* was the old Kansas/Nebraska Gas building, the restaurant features bright colors, and an old-fashioned vibe that could use some polish. This location was an off-shoot of Mi Ranchito in Ogallala, Nebraska, and originally had menus from that location. They've since printed their own, but I did notice that someone had to meticulously go through with tape and small bits of paper to update the prices on their new ones. I love to support local businesses, and I hope that Los Parra's can remain a fixture in Holyoke for years to come!

Food was obviously prepared when ordered. portions were as expected, finishing off with Sopapillas so light & fluffy the honey wasn't necessary. Service -1 Star . It was not as expected, being the only patrons at the time. While husband & son received their drinks (husband said the Margarita was excellent, som loved the Coke bottled in Mexico) BUT it took too long for an iced tea, and two requests for refills on the tea, which arrived just as we were getting ready to leave. We were never asked if we wanted dessert, in addition to the Sopas. anything, if we liked the food or Two requests for a refill, receiving it when we were ready to leave is why this isn't a 5-star rating. Ambiance 0 Stars. Minimalist, brilliantly colored art on the walls. If a restaurant serves perfectly prepared food in proper portions, Ambiance is low on our list. we place service as high as the food. Glasses should never be empty for long before refills are offered.

When traveling on I-80 we stop for lunch or dinner at Margaritas (called "3 Margaritas" on Google…read moreMaps). It offers delicious Vegetarian and Vegan options. We choose the latter and are never disappointed. When we travel, we plan on stopping in Ogalla, NE to have Black Bean Soup without cheese . This with some chips and salsa make for a delicious and nutritious vegan meal for us. It's not on the menu but we'll worth asking for. Same is true for the vegetarian version with the Mexican Cheese. The servers are helpful un answering questions about ingredients so we can stick to our diet while traveling. The restaurant is located next to the Tesla Supercharger so our car refuel while we have a delicious meal. Salsa De Hongos (mushroom salsa) Guacamole Salad Mexican Salad (Slaw) Pico de Gallo Vegan Black bean soup minus the Cojita cheese We order Vegan Black bean soup minus the Cojita cheese and add Salsa De Hongos, Pico de Gallo, and salsa to make it even better.

As we traveled from Wyoming back toward Illinois at the end of our six-week national parks road…read moretrip, we stopped in Nebraska for our second to last overnight break before getting home. After weeks of hiking, driving, unpacking, repacking, and surviving on road snacks and caffeine, we decided to have dinner at Tres Margaritas. The restaurant itself is very cute and colorful, with lots of traditional Mexican décor and bright painted chairs that give the place a lively atmosphere. We arrived pretty early, around 5 PM, thinking it would be quiet, but the place filled up surprisingly fast. It definitely seems to be a very popular local spot. The food was actually very good for a road-trip dinner stop. We shared a large steak taco salad that was absolutely enormous and honestly could have fed two hungry hikers without any problem. It came loaded with carne asada, avocado, beans, tortilla chips, and very fresh ingredients. Definitely the highlight of the meal. I also had a margarita, while my husband ordered an Arnold Palmer, and both were good. Now, the funniest part of the evening was honestly the service. Our server, Daniel, was polite and friendly, but for reasons we never fully understood, he addressed only me during the entire dinner. Since I speak Spanish, he kept calling me "señora" and speaking directly to me while almost completely ignoring my husband's existence. Not in a rude way exactly, just... very specifically focused on me. He would take the order looking at me. Bring the food looking at me. Ask questions looking at me. Meanwhile my husband was sitting right there like some kind of invisible travel ghost. At one point my husband joked, "I guess I disappeared and nobody told me." Honestly, it became more amusing than anything else, and we spent most of dinner quietly laughing about the strange dynamic. The only slightly annoying part was that the check arrived before we were asked whether we wanted dessert, which seems to be becoming a recurring theme on this trip. Overall though, the food was fresh, satisfying, and generous, the atmosphere was lively and colorful, and it was a pleasant stop at the tail end of a very long journey. After six weeks on the road, sometimes a giant taco salad and an unintentionally hilarious dinner experience are exactly the kind of memories that stick with you.
