If I could give six stars, I would. The burgers nearly melt in your mouth somehow. The fries are perfectly crispy. The cole slaw is just as good as the fries. And the ice cream is absolutely perfect. The portion sizes are also extremely generous. And meals are actually pretty affordable if you're a traveller, at around $10-15 per person excluding ice cream and about $18-20 with ice cream. The service is also amazing. The staff is extremely helpful and caring. You will not get lost without them being very quick to notice and offer assistance. They seriously care. And the place is a massive throwback. The building is apparently over a hundred years old, and it's clearly been used the whole time. If you like a classic small restaurant experience, this restaurant will deliver that in spades. read more

We were driving back from Utah and wanted breakfast sandwiches. The food was incredible, first we tried fresh and flaky apple turnovers. Amazing! Stumbled across this place on a warm Saturday afternoon and four hours of driving and thought ice cream sounded great. Looked clean with an attractive homey ambiance, so I walked in. There was a woman at the front register doing receipts - she didn't acknowledge me so I walked back to sit at the ice cream counter, passing a few people sitting at tables to visit after lunch. Was sitting there for awhile when a girl came from the back. She saw me, didn't say anything, and started wiping down tables from lunch. I waited a few minutes longer with nothing happening, figured they were done for the day and headed out. I stopped at the cashier and asked if they were closed - she said no, and asked what I needed. I said I just wanted to get a cone but had a full day and needed to get back to the road. "Oh, I can get that for you - I'll be back there in just a second," she said. So I went to the counter and sat. And sat... and sat. She had gone back to working on receipts and after three minutes I realized she wasn't getting up anytime soon. This time I got up and kept walking. I LOVE to support local businesses when traveling (and I travel 20-30K miles a year) and I see they have some GREAT reviews for their food. We do a lot of Yelp searching on the road, sometimes we are misled. But not at Potter Sundry. It was like stepping back in time. Everything was made to order and delicious. The ambience is exactly what you hope for in a quaint historic town of yesteryear. Service was personal and friendly. I stopped here on a road trip as part of my 'no fast food' philosophy. Super friendly and responsive staff. I sat at the counter and watched them putting together fresh ingredient salads and fresh made sandwiches. I ordered the Rueben with sweet potato fries, as recommended by the shop keeper next door. Delicious! The meat was so flavorful! It was cooked on the flattop and chopped up giving lots of caramelization and banging flavor. The fries were cooked perfectly. Stopped by yesterday to grab some chocolate milkshakes and they were great! Definitely worth a stop if you are traveling through.

We stopped by here on the way through Nebraska to get a milkshake. It wasn't very good--too runny and syrupy. However, the service was great and the diner was eclectic and fun. There is one small gas station in town if you are passing through, but it is more expensive than gas in other cities. read more

We were traveling West on I-80 and were looking for a place to eat lunch when we found this place with good reviews. It sounded so nice and historic that we had to take a detour and see it. It's only a few minutes off the interstate into the town. We walked in an were greeted by a really nice you lady who seated us and gave us menus. They have a fairly wide variety menu and the prices are reasonable. I chose a Ruben with fries which was fixed just right and delicious. My wife got the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato also very delicious. Their main claim to fame is a huge sundae called the "Tin Roof". We were stuffed but, decided we had to try it. We were going to split a small but, our server talked us into the mini since she thought it would better suit us. A couple sitting next to us got the small and it was huge. Our mini was just right for the two of us. This is an amazing place so if you are nearby do not pass us an opportunity to enjoy a great meal and a wonderful sundae. read more

Visiting fort Collins from California we have never been to Wyoming or Nebraska so on a whim we decided to drive to Cheyenne for lunch and then go for dessert in NE. We are our sundaes at a cute drugstore style ice cream counter. The owners were so friendly and lovely.
