Atmosphere is very chill and relaxing, food is top rated and reasonably priced. The service is warm friendly and efficient.

I abhor eating fast food on road trips. As Alexis would say "Ewwww David". So I sought out a local eatery up ahead of us and stumbled across Simkins on Yelp. I am SO HAPPY I did! Everything here is homemade. Everything was tasty and delicious, our highlights were the chili and scratch salad dressings. A wholesome way to eat that's not out of a greasy burger bag! It's set on a sweet little street in the town and has the kindest people working there. It's truly a hometown, main street experience you don't want to miss! Eat small, eat local. Enjoy! read more

There were 2 girls behind the counter and honestly seemed overwhelmed. The line wasn't really well defined and orders were slow going. That being said, the ice cream and food were really good. I was disappointed the ice cream wasn't made in house but it didn't look like a lot was made in house but rather heated up in house. My friend ordered a bagel sandwich and it took about 10 minutes or so to get. I don't know what the pockets are but they didn't seem fresh but heated in a microwave or something similar. If you're in the area and you want ice cream, it's definitely worth the detour off the main drag. Otherwise, it's just a another kind of "meh". read more

Best German sour Kraut pocket in Colorado. 20. Gyro are amazing and so affordable. Bacon triple cheese sandwich and soups galore. The deserts are fabulous. I'll take back to hotel vs. an awful full take out dinner. Yup, found my place for cheeseburger pockets, malts, salad sandwich combo. Perfect. Always a small line because it is fabulous and cooked from scratch. read more

This was great. We were traveling cross country and found this dinner. Fresh ingredients and great flavors. Beats the hell out of fast food

Great soups, sandwiches and ice cream in a cute, clean setting. Friendly, family-owned. Reasonable prices. Clean, large private restrooms. What more can you ask for? Skip the fast food and stop at Simkins! read more

Excellent coffee, creative sandwiches--affable staff -- relaxing seating-- what's not to like -- drop in and enjoy

Fantastic! I visited on my way back to Nebraska from Denver, and it is so worth the little drive away from the freeway. Try one of the sundae house creations. Every one I tried with family was delicious. My sister loved her apple pie latte. And service is great! Slow down, take that exit, and don't leave without a bite of ice cream. You won't regret it. read more

Super yummy and cute! Stopped in for ice cream :10 before close and ended up getting dinner. Super helpful in choosing, knowledgeable and editable. Not a ton of gluten free options? The ice cream is from a distributor, but still pretty good. The jalapeño popper grilled cheese was DELICIOUS and gooey! Loved it!! The cookie dough ice cream didn't have any cookie dough which was sad; maybe I got (or it ended up coming out as) chocolate chip. Wish I could have spent more time in there! read more

Super great ice cream and nice people. Outside seating was great Can't go wrong with Superman ice cream read more

This experience was pleasing in every way. We were greeted with smiles. We were quickly served despite how busy they are, for good reason. We were seated in a quaint comfortable environment. We ordered Jalapeno Popper Grilled cheese sandwich, salad and soup. I had a slice of heavenly Keto friendly cheesecake. This was such a satisfying experience. They have a diverse menu sure to please. But what I find most satisfying is their reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back. read more

Found this little gem of a restaurant on a roadtrip across the country. I wish I had a place like this in my town. Tanya was super friendly and ready to answer any questions. We ordered sandwiches, and they were both awesome. We topped everything off with a cinnamon-roll sundae and a latte. Do yourself a favor and order the hatch chili-broccoli-cheese soup! read more

A wonderful place with very friendly and accommodating owners/staff and delicious food. A fantastic find in Sterling!

An adorable and delicious lunch stop on our way to Fort Collins! The chili was just like my mom makes it, and the sandwiches were very good. Coffee was fresh, and the milkshake was excellent. There was plenty of seating, and the food came out quick -- great for those needing to get in and out and back on the road. The Parlour is in a very cute downtown area and seems to be family-owned. It was an ideal break in our road trip, and we will absolutely be back if we're in the area and hungry! read more

What a fantastic find on our road trip through Colorado!! If you're hungry for some fresh, locally sourced, food in a town full of farmers this is the spot for you. Basically build your own salad or wrap with tons of fresh options, it was the perfect meal after eating fast food the prior 10 hours in the car!!!! Really nice staff as well, thank you Simkins for a great meal! read more

There was only one family ahead of us and they had already ordered their stuff and it still took over 10 minutes to get our ONE lemonade. We didn't even get acknowledged until we were up at the counter and it was our turn to order, even though it was only us and one other family in the whole establishment. Terrible service. The lemonade was alright though so I'd give it another go. read more

We stopped in and got fresh brewed iced tea. Fantastic price and great customer service! If we stop back in town, we will definitely be back! The cinnamon rolls looked amazing and so did the salad that the person ahead of us was getting. read more

GO HERE! It's a gem. It's a wonderful, local, family-run place right in the center of town and it's got something for everyone. We went for lattes/cappuccinos but were delighted to see they had real food too, all made from scratch -- salads, soups, sandwiches, pastry pockets, filled with meat or veggies, breakfast burritos, and my favorite, Frito pie. And of course, ice cream. The family that runs it is SO nice and welcoming, and you can tell they've really worked hard to make it great place for the local community and visitors alike. I especially liked how they kept things from Sterling's history to bring the old and new together, like how they maintained the old name and original store sign, or how their menu board is made from the original Simkins Grocery front door. read more

Stopped for a late lunch on the way to Denver. "Craft salads" meant fresh toppings, your choice of everything. Hubby had a wrap, same deal. Free wi fi, cute decor, sunny shop. Did not try the ice cream, but a good selection, including cinnamon. Had a all beef hot dog with choice of toppings. Good, solid dog and bun. Across the street from the courthouse, nice location. Street parking. read more

Stopped by here with my family the day after Christmas. My husband raves about the vanilla malts and has to have them whenever we are in Sterling. I had the egg nog latte which was fresh and rich. My daughter had the egg nog shake ( kinda wish I had had that) and my other daughter had one of their special Christmas flavored lattes. We enjoyed our drinks and played UNO! Such a great friendly feel! read more

Good ice cream. The staff does not wear masks, but they did wear gloves. The current staff we visited that day were good in serving ice cream, but were confused how to make a soda they advertise when we asked for one. read more

Lovely little place to grab lunch or a treat with games, history and an overall great environment for both family and friends to sit and enjoy. What a great little place! I hadn't had an old fashioned cabbage pocket in years. Fabulous! Topped it off with a bowl of ice cream served by friendly and helpful staff. A gem of downtown Sterling! read more

I really like this place but when paying $3+ for a cappuccino I would hope for the milk to be frothed.

Stopped here by chance, straying off the interstate in search of good coffee, food, and local color. I would definitely return and highly recommend visiting this pleasant and comfortable coffeehouse. The remodel of an old grocery storefront was tastefully and lovingly done; the coffee and food (I had a broccoli-cheese pocket) were topnotch; the WiFi is free, and there are games for all ages. Service was generous and friendly. Next time I'll try the bakery goods and the ice cream! read more
