We stopped by around lunchtime, and we ordered a few beverages at the drive-in. Their menu, as any other Sonics, is quite extensive, offering burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, breakfast items, snacks/side items, desserts, and beverages (slushes and shakes). The drinks were prepared well, and the staff were friendly. There were ample spots, and one could have a quiet and relaxing meal in their car under the shade. To whoever owns the Sonic franchise here: We just got back from a Sonic run to grab lunch for the two of us and discovered some errors that require your immediate attention: Faulty intercoms: you need to test and make sure that your intercom system at each customer stall is working--#4 was ours and it wasn't. The voice cut in and out and evidently the employee couldn't understand us either. Staff training: someone finally came out after some minutes of confusion and wrote down our order the old fashioned way. Which was fine. Except they screwed up the order, which we didn't notice until we got home with it. Also, the bill seemed about $4 and change more than it should have been, based on your menu prices. Even the screwup of mixing a burger with a coneydog doesn't explain the charge. As a P.S., I also am curious why all the empty cars were parked in the stalls; on first glance it looks like an attempt to make it appear you're getting business you don't really have. Hoping you're able to correct these problems soon. Sterling would be the better for it. read more

The staff are lazy and rude. They take an attitude and refuse to try to give any sort of true customer service. It takes over 20 minutes for a single meal to be completed, with no explanation, they give attitude when taking food to cars. The younger female who works here has NO work ethic, ignores customers, and gives massive amounts of attitude to door dash drivers. Speaking of doordash drivers, Sonic cusses them out and NEVER has their food ready on time, often taking an additional 20-30 minutes over the guaranteed ready time to prepare food. When asked when food will be ready, they will cuss you out and refuse to tell you, and have even threatened Doordash drivers and their customers who order through doordash with retaliation when asked to do their jobs correctly. The manager is rude, aggressive, and has no care for how she or her workers are perceived by the customers and clientele. I have not wanted to leave a review, even though I've been upset with this establishment for months now, and I have feared retaliation by the staff, but I cannot stand by when they cuss out my elderly mother for asking how much longer food will be after she'd already been waiting more than 20 minutes past the "ready by" time. The store needs a massive overhaul of staff because it does NOT meet Sonic standards, or if it does then Sonic standards have gone WAY down as well - because I used to work for sonic and I know their standards. read more

I explained I was going to eat there and was told they're not accepting orders anywhere, but the drive-through. Because of my experience at this Sonic, I will never return to any Sonic. The person who took our order was rude and short with us. She didn't listen and didn't accommodate our requests. We were told we couldn't get an extra cup unless we paid for it, or paid for a drink, or paid for water. The wait was extremely long. The food was mediocre at best. oh, you 1-star reviewers. It's Sonic. One must have reasonable expectations. Stick to the sweet treats, & you'll be happy. They have decent soft serve, like DQ but not as sweet. I've never been in Sterling, CO before & didn't know if the cops would have a problem with me parking my semi on the street to sleep. I asked at Sonic about who usually parks there, & the server went to the manager, & they said they'd back me up if anybody asked. I thought that was really nice. Woke up after taking my 10-hr break & walked over for some coffee. The call button didn't work the first time I pushed it, & I wasn't charged for my coffee, which was freakin hot. Nice people. We have never had the best luck with getting our food or drinks in a timely manner at this Sonic and today was no exception. We placed the order through the app 30 minutes before our scheduled pickup time. We were pulling a trailer so could not pull into the parking lot without blocking several stalls so we parked right next door and walked up to get out order after checking in. The gal (manager I believe) that finally came to the door was rude, said the order hadn't been received and after I told her that it said it was ready she told me that they couldn't bring it to where we were parked but could meet us in a stall. I said that was fine. We waited an additional 10-15 minutes past our scheduled pickup time for our food to be brought out. The gal that brought the food out was very nice! Only myself and 1 other vehicle there this afternoon. Took them 7 minutes just to take my order, only a drink. And I pulled up to the window only to wait another 10 minutes. The car in front of me was handed 2 drinks, that's it. And they took off. I pulled up to the window and gave the girl my card, when she handed it back in was distracted by my dog in the car and didn't realize her handing it back, she just threw it in my car onto my lap. I proceeded to tell her thank you and she slammed the window in my face. I finally got my drink and it was not what I asked for, I politely reminded them I wanted an ocean water, which is blue. While the restaurant itself is clean and the staff appear nice, we unfortunately had complications with our drive thru order. We ordered bacon cheese burgers and got double bacon cheese burgers. We also ordered cheddar bites, which were left off the order. When we asked to have them added at the window, they brought us jalepeno poppers instead. If we had more time to straighten things out then I am sure they would have complied, but being on a business paid road trip we didnt have the luxury of time. I would recommend they freshen up on their own menu to prevent this from becoming a common occurance. read more

The length of time you have to wait for your order, even when all you're ordering is drinks, is completely unreasonable. When you finally do get your order they don't get it right half the time.
