Went for the first time to this local joint although it is a well known place it was my fist time on here. Some of our friends told us to tag alone and was not disappointed. We went on happy hour for margaritas and tacos we'll recommend. I tried their pastor & carnitas tacos as well as their regular mijito (mint) mijito was a bit too sweet for my liking but not terrible. Figired we would come by for some Sunday all day happy hour. It's real gringo food, but what would expect from a sports bar. Not saying it's bad quality food, but it is just borderline Mexican food. We grabbed a 5 dollar margarita, you can taste the well tequila l, and it's a good size, so it must have a couple shots in it. So not a horrible deal, if you drink stuff.. Quesadilla for another 6 bucks, nachos with chicken, another 7 bucks, and a 5 spot for enchilada... no sides or rice n beans, just entree. This place has some awesome drinks with cool cups, names, and flavors. I got the ER margarita and it came out literally 2 minutes after I ordered. Super fast. The tell you how to open the "IV" which was cool. The margarita was nice and strong and the Jell-O shot syringe was surprisingly very good and tasted like the ones I remember from college. Got the chicken taquitos as well and they were okay. Nothing more worthy to get but a good appetizer to share. Well be back for drinks. The atmosphere is awesome almost feels like Vegas. I didn't go in there the day after Easter not that busy looking, but they said they were a bit busy. I got sad at the bar per my request. No one else was there except me. The hostess was very pleasant but the bartender was busy cleaning, and completely ignored me. After 15 minutes, I had some chips and some salsa that tasted like it was made with ketchup. but still not the drink I had ordered. We had a family member have a get together to celebrate a birthday and not only was the service not good we were told since we had several people ordering their own stuff , there is a automatic gratuity added to our bill. My mother raised me tip people in the service industry BUT I will not be forced to leave a certain amount for bad service. Food is overpriced (even during happy hour), drinks are gimmicky (although pretty decent tasting), and overrated I feel. Went there for happy hour after it was recommended by some friends. The menu is not clear due to a lack of prices and details. Such as, we ordered the tacos from happy hour menu and asked for one of each of the meats, thinking we can get a single order with three different tacos. Nope, was three separate plates, with three tacos each. The guacamole was just large chunks of avocado with a bit of other things around it, and the calamari felt like they were trying to cover up the lack of it with other random additions. I am from out of town. When I come up to Oregon, I always have to make time for Margarita Factory! The food is always delicious and on point. The atmosphere is warm,welcoming and inviting. However, the impeccable service is what makes this place exceptional. Marci, is attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks! I came in tonight with my best friend and were greeted at the table by Kyra with a welcoming, inviting smile. Kyra accommodated us when we asked about moving to the bar. She was more than happy to oblige. Once at the bar, Marci welcomed us with our drinks and already knew what appetizer we wanted. I think major red flags were given when I opened the drink menu and it did not list prices for ANYTHING. The waitress seemed a little annoyed when I asked about it. I'm sorry, I like to know what I am spending... I ended up just getting a house marg as it was just a quick family dinner and I didn't want to pay $20 + for a fancy margarita. I think the house was 12.50 The margaritas are big though but very expensive. The food was equally expensive, like really expensive. I went to a margarita factory a few years ago and I don't remember it being this bad. But you know "inflation" The food taste was really mediocre at best. I added salt to everything. Was my four fish tacos +rice and beans worth $22, No. was it inedible, no. Did it make me want to come back, no. Also, the kids "all natural smoothie" must be just a blended mix. It was so bland. My 7 year old didn't seem to care though as kids rarely do. All in all, this place looks like a nice spot for young people, meh as a family dinner place. Even with the waitress chipper customer service voice falling off and never really returning once I asked about prices, I still left the appropriate tip for our $72 bill for two adults and one child. read more

Disappointed in this place. We have gone to downtown Gresham for years and decided to finally give this place a try. The drinks are big and not too expensive for the size but they say that they are made with fresh lime juice but the basic Margarita that they had there really tastes like some mix. Not good. With all the people that were working there and walking around you would think that the service would be good, not at all. We sat for 10 minutes before someone came over and dropped off chips and salsa and then another 10 to 15 before someone took our drink order. The food was not that great either. When I test out a new Mexican place I always order Chili Verde, if they have it. They did and I was looking forward to it. The tomatillo sauce was more of a green paste/gravy with little to no flavor. The side of rice and beans wasn't that great either. Beans honestly tasted just like anything you get from a can. My wife ordered the chicken taco salad and she said that the chicken was not seasoned either. Just tasted like they roasted a chicken by itself with no seasoning at all. Very bland. The prices for the entrees were not too high but you can get better for a better price just down the street from them. I am sorry but we will not be going back here if we want Mexican in downtown Gresham there are two other choices that are much better. read more

I have never posted on Yelp before, I mean I have had bad service and food at many places, and I usually deal with it in a less public way, however I feel like this is more of a public service announcement. Went to Margarita Factory (AKA Mojave Grill on the Receipt) for my mom's birthday. I then spent the rest of the evening after receiving our check and noticing a 2% surcharge, pondering why Margarita Factory would decide it was acceptable to use deceptive marketing practices against their customers. When asked about the 2% charge and if it could be removed from my bill, the answer was no. I asked who does the money go to? The waitstaff? The Cooks? The answer "To Cover rising costs" My immediate response was those fees should be included and reflected in the price of the menu items, and this will definitely impact the amount given to the waitstaff as a tip. What about the customer who came in with a set budget, and then they get that surprise on the check. Perhaps you do not want that clientele? Who are you really taking money Margarita Factory Is the 2% worth customers not returning and your waitstaff being subjected to questioning over the 2%, not to mention the impact to the tips they receive for their hard work? Perhaps you could use a lesson in Pricing for Profit. I contacted the restaurant today. I found out the fee started in May, and that it is on the back of the menu on the bottom, where no one looks. A sneaky little place to tell you about consuming undercooked meats and the charge when you have a large party. What's next? Charging customers to pay by card? Maybe I shouldn't give you any ideas! It's too bad, your staff and food have always been to my liking. I won't be back, and I assure you none of my friends and family will either. I am hopeful that others who read this will decide to go somewhere else instead. read more

First, the margaritas were great, good selection. The food was meh. I had the chili verde. Not really impressed, very soupy. I think you can get much better Mexican good in Gresham at a better price. For our family of four the bill was around $140 which included three margaritas. I would happily pay that price if the food was more impressive. Service was good, no complaints there. Overall, I think there are several other establishments that serve much better/more authentic food at a better price. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll dine here again. read more
