Consider this review lacking photos as a sign that my taste buds overtook my ability to stop and take photos of the food and drinks. My night started off with Kyra taking my skinny margarita order, she suggested hornitos tequila and a shot on the side. Such a great suggestion, I had two. As I continued my dining experience seated at the bar Marci also served the two of us. Of course I had the chips and salsa. But why did Marci have to bring the queso to the guest seated next to me? She winked at me knowing I was eyeballing the queso. Yes, once again I fell prey to another recommendation and it did not disappoint. No need to look past this review. We came in for my sister's birthday on a Sunday, it wasn't too busy. We were sat within twenty minutes since we didn't have a reservation. My partner and I shared the molcajete. It was definitely enough and then some for the two of us. The chicken and carne asada had a nice char and flavor. The corn tortillas were nice and warm, overall a very satisfying meal. The two downsides were that our margarita tasted very watered down and it took at least 45 minutes for someone to check on us and bring the bill. read more

We ordered drinks and our 17$ drinks were in plasic I ordered the seafood burritos, OMG! The stench from the spoiled seafood! Both of our men ordered the same thing, some chicken and cheese rice dish, the two of them couldn't find but maybe a small amount of chicken and there was so much cheese that the dish looked like a huge piece of gum, there was no flavor. My friend had steak bites and she could hardly cut into it, it was way over cooked. We tried to get a hold of the help but they were super busy, in which I could not understand. We spent well over 200$ with having 2 drinks a piece, that sucked so bad! We always end up at the Oswego Grill just to be safe, lol! read more

This is the 3rd Margarita Factory location that we've been to and we really liked this one. The staff was friendly. Food was served hot and flavorful. Chips and salsa are both good. Drinks were yummy and The restaurant itself is nice and clean. We ordered the chicken fajitas and the tres compadres. Both were very flavorful, cooked well, served hot and arrived at our table in a timely manner. We also ordered a starter of tortilla soup that was very good too. We had a bigger group of 7 people but it didn't seem to hold up our orders at all. This is a location that we would come back to and bring friends and family. We did make a reservation since it was a busy Friday night. There were several large groups and birthday celebrations happening that night so I would highly recommend making reservations. read more

Well, I tried it again. Big mistake. My family of three dined here last night. We ordered three entrees. One side of guacamole. Two margaritas. We didn't order anything fancy. The margaritas were special priced for national margarita day. This cost us $130.00 for a family of three!!!!! Before tip!!!! The food is fine. Not great. Not bad. Just fine. You could get this quality of food from any other restaurant for HALF the price. When seated we had to beg for napkins. Then we had to wait for utensils AFTER our food was delivered. Our hostess never checked on us after our food was delivered. The atmosphere is nice. But who cares because their prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Save your money and go to a much better Mexican Restaurant in West Linn off tenth street. A true tequila bar. I have no problem dropping coin on a great meal. I'll spend hundreds at a great steak house. The Margarita Factory is a price gouging joke. Oh yeah, they peddle Clasa Azul and Don Pedro like it's the kings of Tequila. Not so. This building in downtown gresham has been home to several restaurants over the years so we were a bit skeptical about it. But, we had heard good things from friends so we thought we would give it a try. The decor and atmosphere is great. Family friendly but I could totally see it being a spot for 20-somethings at night. The menu had a lot of selections and everything looked great. Our son got a kids burrito which he really liked. My wife got the enchilada suiza with chicken. She liked it but felt that they skimped on the salsa Verde and it wasn't quite as good as a different Mexican restaurant we like also. I got street tacos with fish and carnitas. I could have saved half my plate because it came with 4 tacos and rice and beans. I couldn't not get a margarita at the margarita factory so I went with a blended strawberry. I got the small and was shocked at how big it was when it came. Definitely don't get anything bigger than a small if you're drinking it alone and you're driving. My team from work came here for a multi birthday celebration. It was ABSOLUTELY delicious! They have so many options for margaritas. I got the margarita boat which has 4 margaritas that you can choose the flavor. The strawberry one was delicious! For food I got the street tacos. I got 2 fish and 2 steak. It came with rice and beans. I'm not sure what my manager and her husband shared but it looked fantastic. I did try the season pork and the asada from it. SSOOO good! Huge portions that could feed multiple people but it seems as though what you get doesn't match the item description on the menu so be sure to check that your order is really all there. My fiancé and I shared the combo fajitas and were a bit disappointed at the meat to vegetable ratio. You basically get a heaping serving of onions with a few peppers and meat scattered amongst it. We also noticed that we didn't receive the guacamole and queso that was supposed to come with it. Also 3 tortillas to share fajitas for two? Come on now. On the flip side, HUGE margaritas! And tasty too! I ordered a small and it had to have been 24 oz. I love how many unique options they have for the margaritas as well. I ordered the prickly pear and it did not disappoint. So we have been fans and regular patrons at Mojave (now going by Margarita Factory to align with their other stores in the area) for many years. I've enjoyed the food and service, and always have a good time. We'll probably still go there occasionally. However, I'm reducing my stars by one because recently it seems like their prices, especially for cocktails, have gone through the roof. My partner ordered a margarita which was $15, with a shot on the side, which ended up being another $15. The menu doesn't highlight these prices, so we had a bit of sticker shock with the bill ($30 for a drink at a restaurant in Gresham!). I still enjoy the food and service, and hope they make adjustments to drink prices over time to align with the market rates. read more

Absolutely delicious! This was my first time trying this restaurant and I was quite impressed! I got the steak fajitas, a lemonade, and a thing of salsa. The portions were very generous. Certainly a good value for the money. The steak was so tender and flavorful. The refried beans and rice that come with the fajitas were so delicious too. I'll be ordering again for sure. My lemonade was in a bag. Perfect for transporting it home. I ordered for pickup through Uber eats. I was very happy with how they packed up my food. The restaurant looked very clean and had a great ambiance to it when I got there to pick up the food. So for me this was a bit of a change from Mojave that I had been to pre-COVID, a lot more "trendy". The food was pretty good. My husband said the chicken on his tostada was good enough. My chimichanga however kind of lacked the classic fried 'crunch' I wanted. The beans and rice seemed a little too salty for my taste. The drinks, of course, were the star of the show. I had the virgin passionfruit daiquiri and my husband had the Margarita. The presentation was a bit excessive but the drinks were good! The fried ice cream with fruity pebbles was a very interesting take on fried ice cream. It was my first time ordering fried ice cream so I was a bit disappointed. We came here after a short bike ride to Boring and back, but it was a hot day and we were tired and looking for good Mexican food... and we found it, and not just that, but great drinks! I think this is a chain, maybe a local chain, as I see locations in Beaverton and Happy Valley too. We got the margarita flight. The "Best in Town" was a traditional margarita with very good quality tequila. The coconut & raspberry was very tasty, though a bit perfume-y? The passionfruit & pear was really tasty, and the winner was... The Blazing Margarita with slices of jalapeño (I'd have liked it even spicier, but still, it was fruity with a nice kick). I got beef fajitas and she got a mixed plate. Fajitas are a "thing" for me. We came from Texas a good while ago and after 34 years, got to know fajitas at places like Escalanté's (he invented fajitas, it's actually a pure TexMex dish, not Mexican) and Mama Ninfas and so many others. The key, I believe to the best fajitas are 1) skirt steak is an absolute must, it lies closer to the liver and has great flavor, 2) a hot smoky grill, preferably with mesquite charcoal, 3) lots of peppers and onions, 4) no frickin' tomato-based sauces (what the heck is wrong with you, Portland, that's gross!) 5) soy sauce if you want to up your game a notch like Josie's in Port O'Connor. They pretty much nailed 1-3, though maybe it wasn't mesquite, but still. Really honest fajitas and a lot of it. Just what my stomach wanted... well, my mouth, I guess ;). Her mixed plate got a hearty thumbs up. We sat outside where it was still shady and nice. Nobody was masking... my wife is immune compromised and her doc still wants her to avoid risks, but outdoor seating is just the ticket (20 times less risk than indoors, if this is important to you). The servers were really quite nice and did a great job of both explaining the margarita options (HUGE variety including frozen margaritas, which seem to still be quite rare in our area...) and also just chatting us up and making us feel welcome. We WILL be back. Oh, and free chips and salsa (and good chips, and good salsa, not the cheap stuff). read more

I often judge a Mexican restaurant by the way they prepare chile rellenos. As you know, a chile relleno is made with a whipped egg batter--lightly deep fried to a golden yellow color. It should be light and airy, like a silky crepe--and puffy. It should gently dissolve in your mouth. Theirs was a dark brown (baked in an oven for an ungodly amount of time). It is supposed to be stuffed with bright mozzarella or a creamy pepper-jack cheese. This thing had hard, overcooked, cheap cheese, was dry and had roughly the shape, density and taste of my wallet. Zero flavor coming from the (allegedly) poblano pepper (which had been cooked so long, it had largely dissolved). No light salsa verde blanket sauce or any moisture. Just dry, baked nonsense. Arizona biscuit with a blizzard of iceberg lettuce (plate filler). The taco I ate was in a grocery store premade shell, filled with some ground mystery meat. I swear it was a Taco Bell taco, except smaller and the price was 1000% more. I got the same taco in my adult entree that my 3rd grade kid got in his kiddie meal. Small. Stupid. Then, they flooded the rest of my plate with "beans" and rice. At the local fast food taco store, the manufacturer sends bean flakes to mix into an unrecognizable slurry that they slather onto their cheap "bean" burritos. This was what was on my plate. It was indistinguishable from beans. Mud. Were these once beans??? The rice was unimaginative white rice with food coloring, and some chili powder. Probably made by Rice-a-Roni (the SanFrancisco treat). No onions. No specs of actual tomatoes or authentic seasoning. Dry. A Plate filler. The chips and salsa were mediocre. Again...unimaginative. Probably bagged chips. The salsa had a good taste, but it was runny and cheap. We ordered guacamole. It was a large portion and fresh, but the avocado chunks were huge and lacked seasoning. It looked a wreck and you'd only taste flavor on every 5th bite. All the pieces were there, just not executed. Loud rap music. Crowded. Our waitress gushed with fake enthusiasm and was constantly trying to upsell. Cut back on the mascara please. Nauseating. Glitz with little substance. Inauthentic food. They tout "best Mexican food in Gresham." Really? I think you'd be tied with a Swanson TV dinner. Please make real Mexican food. $110.00 for a family of four (this is ordering off the kids menu for 2 kids). No thank you very much. A rip off. read more
