Best steak nachos and margaritas!! Lacey gave us great service! We love it here and will be back!

Had an enjoyable experience with a girlfriend recently. Ordered the chunky guac and some bean dip, as we weren't quite as hungry for the full dinner menu. Waitress was attentive and pleasant, while being busy in the bar area (we were sat in the booth area). One thing that left a sour taste in my mouth, was after the fact, I checked my charges for the dinner on my bank account. It wasn't charged the amount I left on my receipt. I think it shows dishonestly by that employee because I know that I have CLEAR handwriting. I called with no manager in, so who knows if my complaint will really make it back to management. I frequent this restaurant and love it, but always watching your bank account is just good advice for anyone. UPDATE: I did receive a message from the manager. I am satisfied that management has been notified about this issue that happened. I do plan to keep returning to this establishment. read more

Great place for GF Mexican options in Gresham! I love that they clearly label things on their menu and the food quality is always good. I would say that the spice levels are pretty mild, so keep that in mind if you are looking for something with some kick. I am positive they can make things spicier if you ask, however! read more

Went in for lunch with friends. Service was good, my problem was with the food. Fish tacos, seemingly without an fish in them. We decided that these are really avocado tacos and ridiculously overpriced. "The works" add on is only a tiny dollop of sour cream and guacamole with a teaspoon of salsa. Not worth it. From the moment you walk in the vibe is great. Attentive hostess and wonderful wait staff. The food follows suite well prepared and flavorful. The chunky guacamole may be the best I've had to be honest definitely recommend for an appetizer. The house salsa is the least favorite part forme a little runny with room for improvement beyond that everything was well prepared and served with a smile. Tabitha is the best and very nice. It's hard to find good Mexican food with a good atmosphere locally, Mojave fits the bill. Great selection of food and good. They have an upstairs room for retirement parties or anything in general and do a great job with that. read more

So I'm altering my review...Good evening. I ordered dinner this evening--two of the street taco dinners (one shrimp/carnitas and one shrimp/carne asada). All 4 tacos were ordered on corn tortillas, but the shrimp came on flour; the carnitas were extremely dry; and both meals were cold, even though I arrived when I was told dinner would be ready to be picked up. We have ordered from Mojave before, and enjoyed it thoroughly! This time definitely not so much. In fact, the only really good thing about dinner tonight were the margaritas...I have to say, I have never paid so much for a dinner I enjoyed so little. Shady business practice!!! We were "regulars" at this restaurant, visiting at least once a month, but after today we will not be coming back. They included the 18% tip in the final bill without notifying me, and then provided the credit card receipt, which has a gratuity section. Naturally I left 15% tip, making the tip left over 40%(I left tip on the amount including the already charged tip). I did not noticed this right then, and I will not be going back. In addition, portions are becoming smaller and service is definitely not worth a 40% tip. read more

I love eating at Mojave's and go here pretty frequently with friends and family. The food is always delicious and never disappoints. If you can get seated in Manuel's section I highly recommend it! He is always on top of it and is excellent at remembering and recommending a delicious meal or drink to get. When I go I usually just tell Manuel to surprise me with a delicious drink and i'm never disappointed! I definitely recommend trying this place whether you live here or are just passing by. read more

The wait staff is usually always really great. The restaurant is pretty and the booths are very private. Those are the only parts of this restaurant that I enjoy. I've been here three times and don't plan to go back. The food is just MEH. It's expensive but also low quality. Most of the meals are very oily. The queso is thick and grainy, not good. They have a menu for cocktails that doesn't have a price on it. We ordered a margarita that ended up being 15 dollars. Began going when it was new. Loved it. Downhill in the last year or so. Service is terrible. Yesterday three people in our party of six had to leave early. Pushed their dishes to the end of the table to be picked up. Nobody ever addressed the dishes or bothered to clear the table while the rest of the party sat there among the clutter. As a Vegan, asked to leave off the sour cream and cheese from a salad and asked if it could be replaced with extra avocado. They charged extra for the avocado but didn't discount or swap for the removal of the other two items. The refried beans were runny and the food quality along with the service has deteriorated. I don't write negative reviews as a rule, but this is just one visit in a long line lately of really poor quality and poor customer service from someone who really used to and would like to continue to like this restaurant. And yes, I too have been victim of taking FOREVER to get us the check. So much so that I've had to go looking for the server. read more
