I've been Maison lovers for dinner as well as experience their speakeasy downstairs the decor and…read morethe concept is very cool. The menu itself is very eclectic a little bit of Vietnamese a little bit of Chinese a little bit of Thai a little bit of fusion not your typical neighborhood family Asian restaurant. I would say the flavors are very refined. You can tell the presentation and the ingredients are very high-end other bougie Asian restaurants on the main line tried to do the same, but I feel that the chef here actually has technique. It was my husband's and my anniversary so we thought we'd try this place out for brunch are used to love the brunch at Azzie Villanova. No sushi here but really good choices today with a little bit of non-Asian breakfast choices. We had 11 o'clock reservations, which I would like to do early so we can get the food when it's fresh and coming out selections were sesame chicken my favorite today - stirfry chicken with a little bit of maybe potato starch and a citrus hint very light not greasy and slightly sweetened nice sesame seeds. The shrimp green curry. It was perfect eating that with a vegetable fried rice and veg rice pad see ew de noodles. Cooked perfectly and tasted fresh.. there was a baked salmon, brussels sprouts. A brioche bread casserole was that French toast or brioche bread French toast casserole with a vanilla pudding and scrambled eggs omelette. Fried chicken wings Asian style, which is super crispy vegetable spring roll and french fries. Bbq Pork steamed bun, crystal dumplings, and chicken potstickers. Oh I forgot there was a hash made of Tomatoes, potatoes, and shredded beef look delicious but too full couldn't eat everything and topping it off with a wonton soup with Hong Kong style shrimp, pork dumplings. Fresh pineapple, fresh watermelon and a strawberry blueberry salad. A variety of little cupcakes and tarts was delicious. Was a black sesame shortbread that definitely looked homemade and had a very nice nutty. Mild flavor very unique went well with my coffee after lunch. Service was excellent cleaning off our plates whenever we were finished complementary mimosa- wow very delightful! I give this buffet five stars. I .

I went there with a few friends on a Saturday night and surprisingly the place was fairly empty…read more We were seated upstairs in one of the private rooms which was nice and cozy & intimate. The food was very good; however, the service was a bit on the slow side. I hate to in-a-sense penalize a restaurant because of poor or slow service could easily have been just our server. Had we had a different server, perhaps the service would have been different. Everything on the menu was on the more expensive side, but Maison Lotus is located in the Main Line, so prices will be on the higher side, because the general clientele can afford it. Overall, we had a good experience, good food, & ambience.

I am a regular at this restaurant because it is consistently good. I am also often the only…read morenon-Asian eating there. The food is excellent, although sometimes "Americanized" versus authentic. For example, the last time that I was there I ordered a pork dish described as Szechuan with a heat level of 6. I like spicey food, but what came to my table was very mild. OTOH, they have dishes on the last page of their menu that are rated 8 and 10. I can tell you from experience that they do have "character" if you like very spicey food. The dishes are reasonably priced, and service is always very polite and attentive, all of which explains why I go there often. Recommended!!

Just had dinner at Cheng Du in Paoli. We've been coming here for years. Hit some rough patches in…read morethe past but thought it's only fair to update on how excellent the food and this place is. Post 2025 Christmas dinner: Appetizer: Hot and sour soup. Hits the spot on a cold winter day. Flavors are savory with soy sauce, black mushrooms, and strips of tofu. This soup preps your palate for the Asian cuisine to follow. Also had scallion pancakes to balance textures in the early portion of this meal. Crispy pancakes made with fresh sliced scallions. Paired with the warmth of the hot and sour soup and you're off to a great start. Entrees: -Mongolian beef, -Chinese Cabbage and Mushrooms, -Ma Po Tofu (only if you can handle the heat), -Hot -Spicy Fish and Tofu, -Shrimp lo mein (basic lo mein with shrimp), -Orange Chicken - think sweet and sour sauce but orange flavored including orange zest, and -Orange Chicken w/out sauce. My youngest enjoys Orange Chicken w/out the sauce-- dry like plain popcorn chicken but it's not offered on the menu so this is how we order it. I tried it plain. It's yummy. They really ought to offer an entree that's just the popcorn chicken like Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The servers couldn't any nicer. They know our family when we visit. They know our orders too. Very attentive and intuitive. My husband and one of my kids has trouble with chopsticks. The servers always bring the forks for them. So sweet, they even gave us a New Year's present-- Cheng Du magnet at the end of our meal. This is the best Chinese food in the area without going into Chinatown in Philadelphia. Thank you Cheng Du. We'll be back again for dinner.
