Immediately, that other company suggested that we replace the unit as soon as he looked at the water heater. No inspection, no looking around, no anything. A straight up sell. We decided to pass on them and waited for Teddy and Sam. Sam came through and troubleshooted the issue. He was able to fix the water heater. I love their quick and friendly service and they were really good at communicating via Yelp, text, phone and any other means. Honestly, I would recommend them to anyone. I called several companies, but none of them seemed interested in properly diagnosing the problem. They simply wanted to replace the entire water heater at a ridiculously high price or quoted me outrageous prices just to replace a part like over 2000. Then I contacted Sam to diagnose the issue. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to thoroughly inspect the water heater and carefully check all the possible causes instead of jumping straight to replacement. He eventually identified the problem and installed a new ignition combination control box for me at a very reasonable price. The water heater is now working properly again. I really appreciate Sam taking the time to actually diagnose and fix the problem instead of simply telling me to replace the entire water heater. It's refreshing to find someone who is knowledgeable, professional, honest, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Sam to anyone who needs water heater repair.

They answered the phone immediately, and had a service guy out later that day. They sent me his picture along with the confirmation so I'd know he was the right person. There was a delay in him getting there because another job took longer than he anticipated but they kept me updated and asked if it was still okay for him to come at the next two hour service window. I appreciated that because it was respectful of my time. Of course it was fine. Darren arrived, assessed the situation, and gave me three options. I opted to replace the tank and bring it up to code but held off on the tankless option. He came prepared with a high quality heater in the truck with everything he needed so he did the work right then and about two hours later he was done and we had hot water again. The billed amount was the same as the quote he gave me earlier. Not cheap but on par with expected costs and they use high quality components. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Payless Water Heaters.

He and his crew opened the concrete, replaced pipes, and even added new drains to help with the upcoming rain. He knew I was on a tight budget and found creative solutions to keep costs to a minimum. Unfortunately, everything changed once the work started. They hydro-jetted the line for about 10 minutes and then told me everything was fully cleaned and the job was complete. They had not inspected the line with a camera first, and when I asked them to verify the result afterward, their camera suddenly "wasn't working." They also tried to convince me that Burbank does not have a sewer-cleaning rebate program, even though I had personally used that program before and received a rebate. I then hired another plumber who inspected the line first and showed me a large root obstruction that DropStars had not removed. He properly cleaned the line and provided before-and-after video showing the line was clear. DropStars also dragged equipment through my yard, knocked over garden lights/stakes, and left without fixing them. What bothered me most was the complete lack of follow-up. They told me someone from the office would contact me, but nobody called back. No explanation, no return visit, no attempt to finish or verify the work. They simply abandoned the job. I also checked the Burbank address they advertise on Victory Blvd. I personally drove there and could not find a DropStars Plumbing office. The location appeared to contain only auto/body shops, which raised another red flag for me. Stay away from this company.
