He refinished my aged and abused kitchen cabinets to their original glory. And glorious it was! They look brand new. We are so grateful we found Matt!!! We embarked on an overdue garage reorganization project with our 1932 detached garage. Matt did a great job repairing our front door, which was rubbing the sill and damaging the wood. Not only did he adjust the door sweep and add two frame screws to lift the door, he also resealed the damaged sill and buffed out a rub line on the hardwood floor. He was super clean about the whole process and even wore shoe covers and brought a hand vac! I also had Matt look at another door handle that was sticking and he was able to improve it, and even left us some graphite and WD-40 to keep our handles and hinges squeak-free. I am surprised at all these good reviews. Our experience with Matt was very negative. We have a roof leak which can be repaired by a handyman. We had a similar repair years ago on the other part of the roof and knew that it was the right job for a handyman. Seeing so many good reviews and Matt being in our neighborhood, I called Matt on Sept. 21 and left a message with my name, phone number and that we needed to repair a roof leak. I repeated my phone number twice just in case, though I was calling from my cell phone. It has been almost two weeks since I left Matt a message, but Matt did not call back. Is it professional? No. Is it considered? No, especially for a roof leak job. Update: Matt's comment to my review claims that he does not have a secretary, gets many calls and simply forgets to reply. Matt is detail oriented, experienced and his prices are fair. We originally had a leak in my daughters room. We needed Matt in a pinch before the big rain and he got everything done before the rain. Matt did a great job for us and was able to fit us in last minute over the weekend. We had to take a plasma tv off the wall and replace the HDMI cable that had broken. He also saved us from having to replace a garbage disposal that appeared to be leaking. Matt got under there, diagnosed the problem and it turned out the leak was coming from a connection on the backside of the disposal. He put some plumbers tape on and tightened it down. Matt did a great job, and he was Covid Safe. I hired him to mount a 65" tv to what I thought was a fully brick wall. It turned halfway up behind the wall was nothing but drywall. He said it was not safe to hang the tv on just the drywall. He went Lowes and got a 2x4 and built a base for the tv to be hung on. Now the tv is up and safe on the wall! I have a vinyl fence that blew down in the big winds. He fixed it in one day and fixed other parts of the fence to help to reinforce it. Matt of Go Pro Handyman Service is GREAT. I got estimates from several handymen and Matt was the most reasonable and the most specific in his estimate. Matt did a first round of jobs around the outside of my house: painting my front yard fence, the fascia (trim) around my roof, hanging shade blinds outside the house and regrouting and fixing the bricks lining my driveway. Matt was working during the time we were having triple digit, 100+ weather and he soldiered on despite the heat. Matt did such a good job, and completing the job within the estimate range, that I hired him again to build me a bannister and railing along my front steps and to hang some motion sensor lights outside my house. Again, totally professional job, done efficiently. I have photos of the bannister/railing and of my fence if you want to see them. I see that someone gave Matt just a 3 rating because Matt was apparently unavailable to take a job due to a family emergency. This emergency occurred while Matt was in the middle of the first batch of jobs for me. Matt explained that he needed to take a quick trip up the coast to take care of an ailing family member. Matt was gone just a few days and returned right back to the job and finished it right up. It seems unfair that someone can give Matt a rating when Matt never worked for that person and just on the basis that Matt didn't return this person's phone call during a family emergency. read more
