Max was great. I can tell because after he left I created contact info for him on my cell phone... I probably won't need leak detection or have water issues for years or decades (knock wood) but when I need that service provided somewhere down the road, I'm going to want RRR to provide it. I like the fact that he was on time and to the point. I like the fact that he doesn't do the actual work so you are never wondering if the recommendations are legit. I like the fact that he told me the drainage guy that suggested I needed 30K worth of work was mistaken. I can't tell you how many vendors who do drainage and foundation work don't want to crawl under the house to see what's up. Max shows up, takes a look around and is under the house with a flashlight in minutes. I don't mind the extra bucks for the written report and I appreciate him going back and forth via text a few months later when I needed some followup info. read more

I had a unusual leak in the roof. I called Max and he was very prompt and professional and gave me a very fair estimate upfront. He came out and within the hour he found the issue. If I called a typical roofer I don't think u would have had the same service and without any other agenda, other than finding the problem. read more

Max did exactly what he said he was going to do and he did it quickly. He is by no means inexpensive, but you pay for his knowledge and experience. I feel that I got exactly what I wanted and what I paid for. Now I know exactly what needs repair before this crazy rain season comes. read more

For many years, my family's house has been having leak problems that would gradually get worse at a specific side that has windows. A family member would say that we don't need a leak specialist just to save as much money as possible, but he would be wrong because the leak kept coming and getting worse. Cut from years later to nowadays after letting family know again and again and again that we need a professional, I find out from others on here how Rapid Rain Response and Max is the perfect person to contact. Max came through right away and in an extremely timely and professional matter. He charged us a fair price to pinpoint the actual problems of and where the leaks are with tools and all, just as others said he would. Recommendations were given with who he advises to contact and it's on YOU if you want to go with those professional suggestions if you want to. In my personal case, I live with older generation family members who tend to think they know everything, no matter what; to save money and be cheap without wanting to fully listen to Max, so we're going a different route for now....BUT... Max was the one who solved the leak problems and where the water was coming from and my older family members cannot deny that fact! Just telling it like it is and being as transparent as possible because Max & Rapid Rain Response does a PHENOMENAL job at solving your leak problem while being extremely worth it/reliable! I felt I had to accentuate even more to you readers my real, honest experience in order for others to give this kick ass company a chance at solving their leak problems, because Max definitely solved it flawlessly like he always does in the other positive reviews. Also, like in the negative reviews, we have a bunch of stubborn folks who just won't listen to his honest and broken down with every detailed observations towards solving their problems. Thank you Rapid Rain Response & thank you, Max!! read more

Would recommend & use again. Max was responsive, arrived on time and was able to identify the problem many plumbers weren't able to. What we initially thought was a slab leak turned out to be water flooding due to lack of proper drainage & sloping near our unit. He provided a detailed report with pictures & explanation of what needed to done so we could submit to our HOA. The report was in my email within 24hours. read more

The subterranean parking garage at our condo building has experienced leaks after rainfall. While many contractors were happy to give us bids on work that could possibly mitigate the situation, without any guarantee, no one really investigated the actual source for us. Finally one waterproofing company did suggest we attempt to first identify the source - and gave us contact info for Max at Rapid Rain Response. We are so happy we found Max! He came out and took the time to actually test various areas and pinpoint the source of the leaks for us. He was definitely not afraid of getting his hands dirty and crawled into tight spaces that no one had attempted to go near before. Now that the sources have been identified, we will move forward with addressing the repair work. Max has taken the guesswork out of it! Call Max! read more

We worked with Max to find the source of water coming into our home during a flooding. Max was thorough and patient, answered all of our questions, and was able to help us detect the most likely water source through his experience in dealing with similar types of situations. I have great things to say - he was always available and would field any questions I had! Brought a great mind to a situation where we couldn't find answers from anyone else. read more

Welp, wish I'd contacted Max BEFORE a pricy layer of silicone was put on the roof and suddenly the leaks got worse! Found out from Max that the leaks were coming from the old ass siding of the property and not the roof. Fun times. It's bad news but it's essential, and appreciated. Worth the money. Would be nice if a full written report came w the cost, but you can get it for $100 more. read more

We have had a leak in our roof for the last 2-3 years. We had the roof deck replaced to try and stop the leak. The repair was necessary anyway, but it did not stop the leak. No luck. So, we finally recruited Max Craig of Rapid Rain Response to the scene. Max listened to our description of the problem and carefully examined the leak and its surrounds. He performed moisture analyses and then climbed onto the roof and performed a leak test. Within about 30 minutes we had clear and unequivocal evidence of the source of the leak. The resulting targeted repair will be quite affordable and far cheaper than a "replace it and see" blunderbuss approach. Max took a careful approach to the problem and his surgical strategy saved us a lot of time and trouble. If you have a water leak with a cryptic source, Max Craig and Rapid Rain Response is your go-to resource. He is great! read more

Max was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable, and more importantly no bs. Gave me real info to guide me through what I needed to do.

This was exactly the service I was looking for -- someone who could determine the source of the leak without financially benefiting from the repair. Just an independent, honest assessment. I'm so pleased I found Max. He was on time, worked efficiently, and identified the sources of leaks that have haunted me for years. His pricing was more than fair. Highly recommend calling Max before you call a roofer! read more

I've had a slow leak for a few months, that I couldn't find on my own. I called Max at Rapid Rain Response during the recent LA rainstorms. He showed up on time, spent about an hour, and found two entry points that need to get repaired. He also indicated a few other problems areas that weren't leaking yet, but will eventually cause damage. His report was thorough, including pictures, short and long term repairs, and he even recommended repair materials at Home Depot for a quick DIY job. Hopefully I don't have any more leaks, but if I do I'll call Max. read more

Max came over to assess possible water intrusion issues within our crawl space. He was very thorough and provided his professional expertise of where the water was mostly coming from. He provided a detailed report of all his findings and the best ways to mitigate and resolve our concerns. He also offered to hear out what companies are offering as their fix to ensure they are providing the correct solutions before I make any commitments. Will definitely work with Max again if any new issues arise. read more

Max is professional and reliable, responsive and stands by his work. We are very grateful to have found him, as what he does is very niche. He's an expert at how water affects a house and diagnosing issues so you can prevent water penetration. He has done temporary water protection for us the last 2 years (for what has become an absolute nightmare of a home repair project). I trust him and his work. He stopped the water coming into the house. And he doesn't rip you off, like so many people in this business and town, taking advantage of your misfortune. Highly recommend! read more

Max quickly responded to my inquiry regarding some backyard drainage issues we were having with heavy rain. He came when promised and spent nearly 3 hours doing a detailed diagnosis of the problem. He helped me understand what was going on and (at my request) recommended a few contractors who might help, one of which ended up coming out and doing a great job with a temporary fix. His price is more than fair for the experience he brings and the thoroughness of his approach. I would highly recommend calling Max if you have any water issues and need help figuring out the problem or want some guidance with a solution. read more

I reached out to this company because we were struggling to identify the source of a persistent moisture issue. After getting conflicting advice from both roofing and drainage experts, I didn't want to risk spending thousands on the wrong fix. While this service isn't cheap, it was absolutely worth it. Max quickly and accurately pinpointed the source of the moisture--our windows--which saved us a significant amount of money. He was professional and provided practical recommendations for resolving the problem. I highly recommend this service--you won't regret it. read more

Rapid Rain Response - Bedroom wall - Waterproofing Near Me - Los Angeles, California

The reviews are LEGIT. Max is incredible at what he does. When every waterproofing company was busy trying to screw us out of hundreds of thousands of dollars to waterproof a garage wall, Max came, spent plenty of time diagnosing the real issue and laughed when I told him what waterproofing companies (who I'm sure thought we were naive and desperate) wanted to do (including breaking into load-bearing walls) and what they wanted us to pay them. This man single-handedly saved us hundred of thousands. A 150K job became 17K and we couldn't be more pleased. THANK YOU Max!!!! read more

Max is the best. Honest and thoughtful. My house has had mystery leaks since day 1. I've had MULTIPLE leak specialists and water remediation specialists come through. Confidently identify the problem and repair it only for water to appear again next winter. They probably did repair a leak but never THE leak because they never took the time to find the leak in a methodical way. Max did. He identified several possibilities and tested them in order, and then back again, eliminating non-leaks until only the one true source was found. I am overjoyed and looking forward to putting this to bed once and for all. Thank you!!! I cannot recommend Rapid Rain Response enough. He's had his own leaks abd understands how frustrating water intrusion is. (Also friendly, and affordable!) read more

I have an old home that over the years has had water intrusion into its crawlspace, causing damage to the foundation. I called Max as I was trying to figure out the best way to put in better drainage and prevent further water intrusion. I was originally considering a french drain, but it's a good thing I contacted Max because after coming out for the inspection and diagnosing the issue, he informed me that the cause of the problem was the concrete surface in the back of my house, which had improper grading. Since then, we completely redid the concrete and it seems to have fixed the issue. We had some pretty heavy rains in October and all of the rain water drained properly. I would definitely recommend calling Max if you find yourself in a similar situation. Not only was he prompt, kind and extremely thorough/helpful, but his advice saved me significant money that I had planned to spend on the french drain. read more

MAX is the GOAT of water detection. We had various companies help out after moving into a new (older) home and we spent thousands trying to fix things. Thanks Max!! read more

Max was honest and forthright. My HOA has been insisting the leak through the structural garage wall was "normal" and Max let them know the true story and that the hydrostatic pressure should be addressed NOW! Hopefully the HOA will follow Max's suggestions on his report as opposed to a homeowner who is NOT a professional insisted nothing should be done to address our unit. Max is extremely knowledgeable and confirmed what 2 previous structural engineers have been saying all along. Thank you, Max. read more

When I had a leak in my 20 year old standing seam metal roof, my roofing company examined it and applied sealant to weather worn areas that might have been the cause of the leak. But with the next rain, the leaking continued. So the roofer referred me to Rapid Rain Response. A referral for which I am very grateful. Max was great... a serious guy who takes the detective work of finding leaks seriously. He located the source of the leak, and also identified that walls of my house in the vicinity of that source were moist (although not leaking). I'm waiting for the roofer to come and repair the situation. read more

Max was great! He came highly recommended by a friend who helped identify a leak many mold remediation companies couldn't - and he helped identify the likely source of the leaks in our old house, as well. He was upfront, communicative, thorough, and even made time for us outside his normal hours because we had to move quickly to figure things out. He also gave us recommendations for his preferred remediation companies (one of which we used before and liked) and other contractors who could help out if needed. Highly recommend reaching out if you've got mystery leaks. read more

Set up an estimate with Max. He was a no show and never communicated to me that he couldn't make it.

Max was very thorough, efficient, and answered all our questions. We've been dealing with this rain leak for the past few years and worked with several contractors, but the issue was never resolved. We finally decided to hire a leak specialist to identify the root cause; I'm so glad we did. Now we have a detailed diagnostic report to share with a general contractor so we can focus on what truly needs to be repaired. I wish we did this sooner. read more

Called Max with multiple leaks in a new house and he came same day! His detail and professionalism are top tier and he identified issues that 3 different roofing contractors couldn't. No guess work. Price was very high just for a diagnosis. It did not reveal much new information that i did not already know and fee was not applicable to any work being done to rectify problem. Was very disappointing. ** I have the correct business I express this opinion because i have had many free investigations that revealed the same information you gave. Also, editing a review proves no claim that the review is false. Otherwise everyone that edits their review is making a false review? Hmmmm... read more

I've been dealing with a persistent garage leak for years. I had a roofer come out four times to fix it--without success. I even brought in a contractor, but he couldn't figure it out either. Completely out of options, I turned to ChatGPT for advice, and it suggested something I hadn't even considered: a leak detection specialist. That's how I found Max at Rapid Rain Response, one of the few specialists in the area. Max was able to fit me into his schedule quickly, and from the start, he was a consummate professional--knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. He explained every step of his process in detail, which I really appreciated. After testing multiple areas, he finally diagnosed the source of the leak! It turns out the reason others couldn't find it was that the leak only occurred after significant saturation, so by the time they inspected, there was no active water intrusion. Using his specialized equipment, Max pinpointed the issue, explained everything clearly, and even recommended reliable professionals to handle the repair. After years of frustration, I'm relieved to finally have a solution. If you're dealing with a stubborn leak, I highly recommend Max and Rapid Rain Response--this kind of expertise makes all the difference! read more
