    Deluxe Pizza

Tasty crust and a soft, well seasoned dough. The crust was like eating an Italian breadstick. Very easy to order carry out on their website, and look for some coupon deals too. These two medium pizzas was ample food for dinner and lunch the next day for 3-4 people. The deluxe pizza was full of toppings and tasted good. Comes with Pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions. Grilled chicken florentine pizza was okay, the white sauce was not as flavorful as the red sauce of the deluxe pizza. Comes with Grilled chicken, garlic parmesan sauce, fresh spinach, red onions, sliced tomatoes Didn't remember to take a picture of the cinnasquares but that was buttery and full of cinnamon flavor. Skip the packet of the vanilla icing it didn't taste that good - just the sugary cinnamon bread was better.

I always enjoy Marco's! Had this delivered. It was still warm when I received it. Thick cut, adequate amount of sauce and toppings. Satisfied yet again!

I've been to a couple of locations in several cities and the one on Morriss in Lewisville was clearly the model to follow. Surprised that Denton already had a new, second location that recently opened, we stopped in last Sunday just before lunch time. We were helped quickly, though a line almost immediatly formed and stayed that way for about 15 minutes. While we intended to dine in, it seems most people had called in orders and various issues led to those people having to wait an additional 10-15 minutes. This location does not have fountain drinks, they have a cooler of Pepsi products or you can order water. The staff is very new and so they are not yet used to explaining options and price changes when you ask a question or add to an order. Also, despite us dining in, I had to give my name and phone number. I did ask why they needed my number if I was dining in and was told they just do. I didn't argue the point, so I'm not sure what would happen if you refused to provide the information. My guess is the new location is building their database for future orders and possibly direct mail coupons. In looking at my receipt while we waited for our pizza, I realized the price was several dollars different than what I was expecting. I waited for the line to clear and went back to the counter to look at the menu. I eventually figured out that prices were higher for the sizes than the last time I had been in a Marcos- okay that happens. I also finally found the section that states prices for toppings are a different price for each size. Okay, I answered my own question with a closer look at the menu, but I couldn't help but notice that the 4 people within an arms length of the counter all ignored me. Hmmm. Despite having 7 or 8 people on duty, we waited nearly 25 minutes for our pizza to be brought to our table. The girl who brought it out was very upbeat and offered to bring plates as well. The dining room has a very odd layout, but the positive is that there are normal tables of 4, high tops for 6 and seating by the window. At least you know that different groups can be accommodated. I was a little surprised that nobody came out to clear any of the tables, but again, they are new and probably getting used to how to use their time. I don't mention the cleanliness, attention and order taking skills to dock any stars when they are this new. I just want to make sure that management has feedback for improvement and training in case they keep up with their reviews. The wait times based on the size of the staff, especially for those who had called in orders, really needs to be addressed before too much time passes though. We ordered based on our previous visits to other locations. They do offer a variety of appetizers and subs, but it's been my experience that pizza is the way to go at a Marcos. I have previously gotten the thin crust, which I really liked despite not being a fan of the square cuts. I was told the original is hand tossed in the stores and is a specialty of the chain, so I ordered that this time. My husband and I split a medium and got both pepperoni and the old world pepperoni- half on each side, so they only charged it as one topping. I guess the staff needs a little more training on cook times, ratio or letting the pizza rest, because this pizza was extremely greasy and had the cheese sliding towards the middle just by being placed on the holder. So we ended up with crust and sauce in our later bites. This was not what I was expecting, though not the end of the world. I think this particular pizza needed less sauce and more cheese to keep that from happening again. I expect pizza to be a little greasy, as other locations have been. This was visibly greasy and you could taste it, so I couldn't eat as much as I intended. It was dripping everywhere, despite being sopped up with napkins, it definitely impacted the taste. Make sure you have your Tums handy! The old world pepperoni was just as good as I remember it and has a good flavor. There's nothing special about the regular pepperoni here, but it's not bad. If you go with one topping, I love the flavor and texture of the old world pepperoni and recommend you try it at least once. I will probably go back to thin crust, despite not caring for the rectangle cuts. I just didn't think the original crust had any flavor or special texture, plus the dough just soaked up the grease. They use a ton of toppings here, so I may ask for light toppings next time to see if that cuts down on the greasy residue that was left everywhere. The training issues will probably fix themselves within 4-6 weeks which will improve wait times and service. I'm not 100% sure that the greasiness and sauce/cheese ratio will be fixed in that time and that's just not what I'm looking for in my pizza. I will give them another try, but I'll probably wait a while before I do.

I received a coupon from Marcos on Facebook as a promotion for this new location opening. It was for a medium one topping pizza, and I decided to use it about a week after the grand opening. I never visited the other location, but I have only heard great things so I was very excited. When I walked in to peruse to menu, it was nice to see a couple different menu items compared to other places- old world pep, anchovies, etc. I wouldn't say that have any out of the box options like pizza snob, or mellow mushroom. That's not surprising as Marcos is competing against other national chains like Dominos and Pizza Hut. I asked the gentleman working the counter a couple questions, that he had no answer to. He was pretty young, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was his first job, so I was understanding. However, he made no efforts to at least ask someone else, or the manager some of the questions. Had I known what some of the menu items where, I probably would have spent more money. It's important that staff is very well trained on the product that they selling. When it was all said and done, I ordered one medium pepperoni, one medium barbecue chicken, and a large meatball sub for the hubby. I actually wanted to get the old world pep, but I didn't notice that they had plain as well. That was my mistake, and I will probably come back to try the old world. I sat down and waited for my ordered and examined the process. I noticed that the majority of the workers on staff were high school age, save for two managers. The people cooking the pizzas seemed to be very busy, and the other kids were sort of just standing there, not aiding the process. During my waiting time, I saw a woman come in for her pizza, and end up having to wait an additional 20 minutes because they made her the wrong one. The offered her no coupon, and very little apology. Five minutes later I saw them give another girl an extra pizza because they cut hers a little wonky. I also couldn't help but notice that the gentleman working the counter would walk all the way to the dining room, tell someone their food was ready, and make them come all the way back up to get it. It just seems like it would be a little faster if he just took them their food. I noticed our food was put on the rack from the people in the back, but no one gave it to us. I thought maybe they still had something they needed to do to our order? But alas, the staff kept talking amongst themselves, and our order still sat. I could tell it was ours because the pizza cooks had no more orders on the line, and were focusing on doing other things. Even the manager kept staring at us, and then looking at our food, never putting 2 and 2 together. Finally, the cashier that took our order decided to clock out for the night, and happened to notice our pizza sitting there, and gave it to us. He made a joke about how he should be getting paid to give us our pizza since he was off the clock- haha- if you gave it to us ten minutes ago, you would still be on the clock. Anyways, aside from opening kinks, we got our food home and were ready to dig in. The pepperoni pizza- not much flavor, as it was lacking on the sauce. The crust is was overdone, and really lacking flavor. The barbecue chicken pizza- had more flavor than the pepperoni because of the sauce, but the chicken wasn't as high grade as I thought it would be. I was expecting something more because of the high quality ingredients they talk about, but was let down. Meatball sub- very big for the price! Was pretty good and could see myself getting a sub again in the future. Overall, I was a bit let down in my visit. The stars really only reflect how I felt about the food, as the service still is suffering from being new. If the service doesn't improve, I would consider moving it down to two stars. I'll likely be back in the future because I'm curious, but would only be back if I can find another coupon.

We have always ordered from Marcos with no problem. Tonight this is ridiculous. A cardboard flavored pizza, yumm.

This pizza was soo good! We ordered a medium pepperoni for take out. The cheese was thick and creamy and the crust was delicious. We'll absolutely be back.

3.5 stars, but we'll be nice and round up to 4 lol…read more This used to be my FAVORITE pizza.Like I would rant and rave about it to anyone who would listen. The only other location was in Oklahoma but they closed it down practically a decade ago, so Denton is the only location now. It's located near/on UNT's campus so parking is extremely limited and there's construction going on around the restaurant. I love that Crooked Crust offers unlimited toppings for no additional price and that there's so many different sauces and toppings to choose from. I will say that the pizza is thinner than it used to be (it was always fairly thin, but still had some weight to it. Now it's practically thin crust or at least it was when I went recently.) I also noticed that the 50% military discount has been changed, but that's to be expected, especially post-Covid. Either way, Crooked Crust is still a family favorite and I'll pretty much always stop by when I'm passing through Denton. Customer service is great at this location also and every time I've stopped by during the day, it's practically impossible empty so service is quick.

I'd give Crooked Dough a 3 out of 5. For my personal taste, it's not really my style of pizza. The…read moredough is very thin--almost cracker-like. When it's fresh, it does have a decent flavor, with a light amount of sauce and a good layer of cheese. That said, it doesn't really have much crust or crunch. It reminds me of more of a late-night flat "cookie-style" pizza. Not bad, just not my preference. Customer service was on point.
