Large sausage and cheese pizza
Janice P.

This was my first time ordering from this place. I was not disappointed. I ordered a large sausage/cheese pizza with regular crust. Just trying to keep it simple the first time out. Well, it was a delicious pizza. The sausage had that yummy Italian sausage flavor. The sauce was delicious and complemented the sausage. It wasn't too saucy - now I wish I ordered a second or third pizza. I'll be back! I now have a good neighborhood pizza place! Good pizza and nice service.

Ordered a pepperoni and hamburger pizza!!!! It was great!!!

We have tried them 2nd time and they did excellent job again. One of the best non-chain pizza ever. Staff was on their toe, everybody with smile, 3 staff members asked me when I was waiting. 5 Star Service Food Thanks

They make some of the best pizza So flavorful and perfect bread One of my favorites are the chicken Florentine (Though since I'm vegetarian I get without chicken and since the tomatoes are there mmm still so delicious) There was a recent mistake made when I ordered online and when I called to correct it I spoke to the Manager who was so kind and offered a refund to remake it and deliver it with an addition of cheesy bread. The customer service is amazing

Came in wanting pizza for dinner. It was after 5pm so it was busy. We walked in, placed our order and waited for a good 30-45 minutes. It was a good thing they had a few table to sit. When our pizza came out we decided to sit in and eat while the pizza was fresh. Pizza was not bad, the pizza crust on the bottom was crunchy which I liked. All the ingredients were fresh except the mushrooms which I was bummed about but it was ok. Service was good, even though they were busy someone was at the counter to help the customers.

What a lousy web site. Both on iPhone and iPad, errors and cannot order online what else is there to say?

I usually order online and have it delivered within 20 minutes or so, I don't think it has ever taken them longer than that.

I don't know how to describe this place. It's weird. I've been here maybe 5 times over the past 6…read moremonths. First off, the food is excellent. AMAZING actually. I've never had anything that wasn't perfectly prepared, flavorful, and served the correct temperature. And that's what really matters in a restaurant, of course. But the vibe is odd. I can't put my finger on it. It's "clique-y". Every time I come, I walk into an empty restaurant with no host. And it seems I've walked in before they opened. They have lots of private events which are walled off with weird partitions. And they sometimes (according to others I overheard) completely close down for private parties. I don't ask for much. I require very little attention. I grossly over tip. And, yet still I feel very unwelcome in this restaurant that I have frequented several times. I don't get it. The other customers were very nice to me, but the staff seemed annoyed by my presence. It's bizarre. Anyway, the food alone earns them a top rating. Pro tip: Do NOT sit at the bar. They don't tell you this: but it's for the regulars. You'll feel like you've wandered into a party you weren't invited to. AND.....order the Prince Edward Island mussels!

The owner of the restaurant took our order and offered good suggestions. He raved about their Tiramisu and we wanted to try if for dessert. The starters we tried were well seasoned and flavorful. The pasta bowls come with breadsticks and is perfect for one. The bowls are not shareable but the flavors were excellent. Do try the tiramisu for dessert. It is highly recommended. Plenty of parking available in the strip mall. The restaurant offers beer, wines and cocktails with a full bar service. Pricing: Not an inexpensive restaurant but it's worth the money you pay. Will I return? : For sure!

Folks, do not walk...RUN to Politano's in Irving, this mom-n-pop Italian, run by two actual Italian…read morebrothers, is Fantastic with a capital F. It is $12-$16 per entree, and better than Italian you've paid $40-$50 per entree for at much fancier places. Scout's honor. Complimentary garlic knots, and when you taste the accompanying red sauce that's your first indicator this is not an average Italian restaurant. Had a house salad with Ranch. This was the only 'standard' item of the meal. Entree, had the Creamy Mushroom Tortellini with Veggies ($3.25 addition, charred broccoli, tomatoes, extra mushrooms). You can get Alfredo or a creamy tomato sauce. I asked the owner's recommendation, he said creamy tomato, I went with that. Oh sweet mama.... C-H-E-F-S K-I-S-S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could not fathom it would be a top tier of all time Italian dish. Totally not expecting, and totally blown out of the water. So much so, I told a buddy who lives 3 hours from Dallas, he & his kids could make a Saturday road trip just to eat a meal here & it would be worth it... I'm visiting from out of state (lived in DFW ten yrs prior), this was a fantastic surprise on the visit. If I'm back in DFW at any point, this will be on the extremely short list while visiting.

If you are looking for a charming, "no-frills" spot for classic Italian-American comfort food, this is a very dependable option. The absolute highlight of our visit was the staff. The people here couldn't have been nicer! They were welcoming and extremely accommodating, especially when it came to customizing my order. Food: * House Salads: We started with the house salads featuring their homemade tomato vinaigrette. It was unique--it tasted like they might incorporate some of their tomato sauce into the dressing base. It was okay, though perhaps an acquired taste if you prefer a sharper vinaigrette. * Eggplant Parm & Custom Pasta: I ordered the Eggplant Parm and asked to swap the side pasta for angel hair with vodka sauce. They were happy to do it for a small upcharge. The eggplant itself was quite good! My only critique is that the sauce was very chunky (I like a smoother sauce) and the portion of it was a bit overwhelming, but that might just be a personal preference. * Fettuccine Alfredo: My husband went with the classic Alfredo. He described it as a "solid 7/10"--nothing was wrong with it at all, just a standard, reliable version of the dish that satisfied the craving. Final Thoughts Cafe Italia is a sweet little place that is a decent option if you're hungry for the classics and want to be treated like family. We're glad we finally checked it off our list!
