We ordered pizza delivery twice now from Marco Roma and both times the pizza was very good and delivery service was spot on time. Both times we tried build your own pizza and Marco Roma has done fantastic job on the order. I think that one thing that stands out for me about Marco Roma is their fresh ingredients and their pizza sauce - you can really taste the tomatoes in the pizza sauce. It's not salty and heavy with preservatives. I like to add few hot pepper flakes on top and enjoy my pizza.

I had driven by this place thinking it is a high end Italian restaurant for a year now. I decided that a Saturday at 2:30PM trip would be a good time to miss crowds. It was empty. Upon entering, I had to take a minute to figure out what is going on. The counter area was a bit back from the door and it wasn't clearly evident how the system worked. After talking to the man behind the counter and getting recommendations, I chose his chicken Parmesan entree suggestion and noticed the IBC root beers which brought me joy. I pod for my meal and sat down. The ambiance of the place seemed like they were trying to do fast casual with upscale food. The music was a bit eclectic and turned a little louder than I'd expect. When the food arrived, I was impressed by the size of the portion provided. It could easily feed two. The spaghetti wasn't over cooked which was my biggest concern. That concern was misplaced though. It was the breaded chicken that was the disappointment. Both pieces of chicken were over cooked, dry, and bland. The sauce was very Italian tasting including what tasted like wine mixed in. It was fine. The other part that threw me off was the roll. It came out but it was just the roll. No butter, olive oil, and honestly... flavor. For transparency, this is for just that entree. I haven't tried the pizza.

Wonderful Pizza! Visited Chicago from St. Louis and decided to grab a deep dish pizza for the experience. So glad we chose Marco Roma! Crispy crust and delicious!! Staff was super nice. Will definitely come back!

Happy customer

Incredible food with very handsome cash register workers. 10/10 would go again! Growing up in Italy I can say they have the best Italian food I've had since moving to the Americas. Hopefully their business continues to thrive and become more and more recognized.

Friendly service, clean attractive dining room, desserts, terrific beverage selection (beer, wine, glass bottle Coke!) and really great pizza. Perfect thin crust (my personal favorite), Roma crust (focaccia?! Yes please) or Chicago-style deep dish. My thin crust pizza was absolutely delicious and cooked just right. I ate way past the point of being full and I will not be sharing my leftovers. Wear your stretchy pants. They also have salads, pasta entrees, sandwiches and more. A true gem.

Tiramisu is thee worst! I was so excited then quickly realized it was a mistake. Its bland. No espresso or whipped cream. The cream has a strange taste, kind of over cheesy and ugh. The pizza is good tho!

Marco Roma pizza delivery....what a shame. We've ordered from here hundreds of times. No longer.

This is how our pizza arrived after over two hours. Don't call and talk to manager about a late pizza, this is how this store retaliates

Our waiter just dropped our food and it brought smiles to our faces. Dean eating healthy which is a good look for LA Vball.

Service was amazing. And I loved the ambiance of the place. While sitting down I got to watch sports which is something I love. The music is light which is amazing. Love the food as well; always hits the spot!

My favorite local pizza joint. Great "thick crust" Roma style pizza. My mom gets thing crust and loves it as well. A great local place.

From Italian Classic to "Budget Fillers" Most people think…read moreof that scene in Ratatouille where the food transports the critic back to a beautiful childhood memory. If I ate this today as a kid, that memory wouldn't be of the food--it would be of a spanking. I used to swear by this place in college. It was the gold standard for a good, affordable meal with real heart. But lately, it's clear that profitability is the new priority. They've swapped high-quality ingredients for "cheap" fillers, leaving the dishes feeling hollow. The Technical Breakdown: * The "Watery" Problem: Does the kitchen not own a colander? The dishes are swimming in excess moisture, which kills the integrity of the meal. * The Sauce: It used to be the soul of the plate; now it feels like a rushed accident. * Not So Pro Tip for the Kitchen: If you want to save the dish, cook the last few minutes of the pasta IN the sauce. It's a basic fundamental that seems to have been lost in the pursuit of the bottom line. It's a bummer because this place used to be so intentional. Now, it's just basic. Unless you're looking for a plate of lackluster pasta and budget-friendly veggies, you're better off looking elsewhere.

Overall we enjoyed our experience. The food was phenomenal…read more We came here after spending the day at the Chicago Botanical Gardens and it was a perfect treat. We were all starving after walking around. And the outdoor seating is perfect for kids. The food was LEGIT. I personally love Italian - pizza, pasta, salads. And all so fresh. We started with baked artichoke and the shredded brussle sprout salad. The baked artichoke was damn delicious and we al joked we could eat a few more plates of them. The brussle sprout salad I'd skip next time. It was shredded enough and the brussle sprouts needed to sit in the lemon juice a little longer to loosen up. It was too hard to eat and because some of the pieces weren't shredded enough you couldn't bite into it. The kids both got rigatoni in a red sauce and finished their entire plates. The only thing I wish is that they had a kids menu because if they want a drink to it comes out to $16 a kid ($12 for pasta and $4 for drink). And the kids soda is just as much as the adults soda. But the pasta itself was freshly made and the red sauce was so good I could drink it. And prolly the most frustrating part of the meal was asking if they had bread to be told that they don't except we watched baskets of bread be brought to our tables. When we asked our waiter Jeffrey if they had bread he said no twice and told us they have focaccia. The kids obviously didn't like it. After being lied to we decided to ask someone else who then brought us the free bread ??? So don't get tricked to order focaccia because they do have bread. This was really frustrating to be straight lied to and the focaccia in my mind wasn't worth $12. It needed more oil while being baked because it was dry. But in all my dining experiences I've never been lied to about getting a basket of bread just to get us to buy focaccia. It was so weird. I ordered the tortellini with balsamic and I enjoyed the tortellini themselves but the sauce lacked flavor. It almost needed a mushroom base or something that had more a punch. My husband got the bolognese and really enjoyed it and he is the last person to order pasta out. My best friend got the eggplant lasagne and damn it was good. I forget what her husband got. Then we also ordered pizza for the table and shit it was so good. Next time I'd try the mushroom pizza. We sat outside and the ambiance out there is much more livelier than inside especially if you're traveling with kiddos. They also had a magician who came to our table and really made the night enjoyable for the kids. We plan to head back at some time and have learned our bread lesson lol. Next time we would just ask for another waiter because being lied to is just odd.

Found out it's Italian, so based on positive reviews, my wife and I went there early last night. To start they bring out a warm mini-loaf of crusty bread with a small serving of garlicky olive tapenade -- we knew right away we were gonna enjoy this place. The Bella salad had a huge amount of arugula, pear, figs and goat cheese, enough for two. My wife had a special: spinach stuffed ravioli, with a paper thin dough -- very light and buttery. I had the tasty vermicelli amatriciana -- a huge serving, the leftovers was my lunch today. What's interesting was the waitstaff tag-teamed us: Everyone could do everything from take our orders to bus dishes -- you could see they were pros, had worked together for a long time. The only negative (which I will not deduct a star for): There were two huge TV's playing with their sound off -- this did not add anything, were rather distracting. But the food and service won us over -- we will be back.

I was trying to find a place at least midway between us and discovered Carlos and Carlos on Yelp. Carlos and Carlos is old school from the perspective you actually have to call the restaurant to make a reservation. The space itself is located in what I think is a condo building. The space itself is compact, with tables relatively close together. We ended up sitting at table next to the kitchen door, which for me turned out not to be too bad as we were not sitting on top of other folks. The restaurant and bar were packed as it was a Saturday. Based on the size of the space and number of tables, I would strongly suggest making a reservation if you go there. We started out with fresh bread and one of their specials for the night: flash fried calamari served w/fresh tomatoes, pepperoncini peppers, shaved garlic, black olives, capers & garlic butter. This was a first for me as I have never had calamari served this way and it was great. Definitely a dish I would drive back to get. The bread was wonderful and hot. I could see through the kitchen as fresh bread was being pulled out of either a warmer or oven, not sure. It was served with some sort of olive oil and pesto, I think. It made for a lovely spread on the bread. For dinner I ordered a dish called "Meatballs" and it was just that, a whole lotta meatballs with some spaghetti thrown in as a side...HAHAHA! Not complaining, just staying a fact. The meatballs and pasta were good, but I would say there was a fair amount of garlic in the dish. I had my dish as a leftover and as I was warming it up, The Doctor commented that he could smell the garlic. The Doctor had the Pollo Vesuvio, which also came with pasta. I had a small piece and it was pretty nice. Again there was more meat than pasta, but again we were not complaining. The chicken was nice and tender and had a lovely flavor to it. My GF got the Risotto Al Fungi (Arborio served with wild mushrooms & goat cheese). Prior to sampling her dish, I would have absolutely stated that this was a dish I would not order in a restaurant as I wouldn't have any interest in it. I tried a spoonful of my GF's and was amazed at how good it was! The broth that the risotto was cooked in was chicken and I think beef. That with the goat cheese made this a very nice dish and the second reason I would drive here to do a repeat visit for dinner. Portion sizes were nice as The Doctor and I had plenty to eat and enough for light snack the next day. My GF had no leftovers, she became a member of the clean plate club. For dessert we shared a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, which was really nice. It had a lovely dark flavor to it and was creamy in texture. Service was nice and everyone was friendly. There is plenty of street parking within walking distance as well. While this is a bit of a drive for us to get to since it is outside of the city, I could see coming back here. I think I want to try a serving of that risotto on my own instead of a taste.

The main dining room has a view of the kitchen, and the second dining room is adjacent to the bar. I recommend the bar, as I am not a fan of open kitchens and if you are lucky you can get a table against the windows, secluded from the hubbub. It is a loud, energetic space. They have a solid cocktail program, particularly their riff on a Black Manhattan with bourbon and Demerara - a refugee from an Old Fashioned. I recommend swapping out bourbon for rye and holding the Demerara - its an excellent drink. A good collection of Italian and American wines. We ordered the Lemelson, a light bodied Pinot from Willamette Valley. It paired well with the lobster ravioli special and roast chicken. For food, we ordered the aforementioned entrees, and started with the meatballs and the beet salad. The meatballs were superb, flavorful and juicy. The beet salad was delicious, as were the entrees. Just a note, they have a very heavy hand with the sauces. The lobster ravioli came with a cognac cream sauce that painted the plate. It had much more tomato than I was led to believe but the dish was still very good. Kelly had the red wine reduction on the side for her chicken, and it was a veritable bowl of soup! The mushrooms are actually in the sauce, and it has a strong bitter flavor - I liked it but it was not Kelly's favorite. Still, a very good dish. We went light for dessert and had a scoop of gelato and a scoop of sorbet. They were both excellent. Service is friendly, the tables have plenty of space between them and the restrooms are accessible. No valet, but a free city lot is a short block away and street parking is available. Definitely worth a trip from the city.
