We were originally working with Hels for a 200 person wedding that was to happen 9/26/2020. Well as we all know, that changed due to COVID and while it could have been awful in deciding what we wanted to do, Hels and all of our vendors made us feel so confident in our new plan: 50 people in our backyard. After planning and re-planning and having 3 back up plans just in case, not a beat was missed by Linda and her team. Not only did I have full confidence in them working with our coordinator I had full confidence in stepping back as a bride and just letting them do what they are great at - catering. Our guests are still talking about the food - and that is NOT typical for a wedding. Truly, some of the best food many of us have ever had. From appetizers, to service to plated meals of chicken & steak - Hels is the choice you should make for your next event (big, small or anywhere in between). It's not easy having strangers in your home, but at the end of the day Hels was like family & we are excited to hire them over and over again for any events we plan!

I would absolutely recommend them, I'm thrilled they are here in Northbrook. As for the food, taste is so subjective and it is hard to please all the people with every dish. Everyone thought the Thai chicken skewers with peanut sauce were delicious. The Mediterranean chicken was also very good (loved the artichokes). The sweet potato mini pancakes were also a hit. The Tangine vegetables were too bland. I like more flavor, spices. To their credit, they use very little salt. The bourbon chicken skewers went untouched. The Jerusalem salad desperately needed dressing, it was also untouched (but of good quality). Having them cater saved us days of time preparing and cooking, it was well worth the money. They are super organized and, as I mentioned above, great people to do business with. We'll certainly try them again now that we know what we like.

They were happy to accommodate our every need. Since it was for a grand opening celebration/open house, we were unsure of how many guests would come. Our turn-out was about 200 guests, and there was plenty of food and drink for the party! We did 6-7 different passed appetizers - the servers were friendly, prompt, but not in-your-face-eat-this like some are. Staff was very professional. Every appetizer was delicious (we had the company recommend their most popular items). The cold apps were cold and the hot apps were hot. There were no discarded napkins, etc. lying around - they must have constantly cleaned-up after everyone too. We did wine and sparkling water service. The bartender had a drink in everyone's hand the second they walking in the door. Very fast, very attentive. Since we didn't know the exact head count of our party, the company brought as much wine as possible and didn't charge us for any unopened bottles that they could take back!!!! I only briefly met the owner/manager, but my mother really enjoys working with her. You can tell she has been doing this for years. She will come out to check-out your party space to plan ahead of the layout for her food and staff. I have to say this party was a lot of work, but the catering was the easy part thanks to Everyday Gourmet. Would definitely recommend this company to a friend for small parties/business events.

They exceeded our expectations for quality, and they were able to work within our price range. We were really hoping to find a caterer that values the healthfulness of the food as well as flavor. It turns out that the food was fresh, healthy, and friendly to guests with special dietary restrictions as well (vegan, vegetarian, no sulfites, gluten-free, etc.). For instance, we ordered the mushroom napoleon (it's all vegetables, no pastry) as an option for our vegan guests, and it turned out to be a big hit with everyone who tried it. Also, the tasting was fun, as it should be, and they really cared about our responses and helped us modify the menu so it was right. As in any project, there was inevitably one small glitch (and even that was a miscommunication on my part) where some guests who hadn't ordered the salmon took it anyway, not leaving enough for those who wanted it, but Tailgators was savvy enough to offer the non-meat eaters the mushroom napoleon instead, which as I said was very well-received, so everyone had something they liked to eat. All in all, with all the stress of planning a major event on our own, dealing with this caterer was really a pleasure.

Each person in the group got their own kit and they gave us advice on how to arrange things based on flavors and type of item, encouraged our designs and it was really fun.
