I am a Pizza Girl all the way. So i like trying new pizza places. OMG!!!! Their pizza is amazing!!!! I ordered a Personal Pan Pizza with Sausage, Pepperoni, and Mushroom. When the pizza came you can tell right away. Quality ingredients for sure! I am definitely going back to try more stuff on the menu. Its a small place tho. Street parking. Service was great! Oh also I was surprised but they have wine!

I finally tried Lefty's. This will be my go to pizza place from now on. Ordered online and showed up early. I was just going to sit in my car until the time came, but someone came out to my car when I pulled up. I told her I still needed to pay and she took my name then came back to take my card. She was so kind! A+ for service! My pizza came out early and pipping hot! It smelled so good. I hard time resisting eating during my 10 min ride home. The pizza was crunchy, yet chewy and soft. A bit salty, but pan pizza is usually salty. The flavors were great. I'm so glad I finally gave Lefty's a try!

    Sausage and spinach deep dish

One of the best Chicago deep dish pizzas ever! I always order from Pequod's when I come to Chicago and was advised these owners come from there. Their's rivals Pequods and dare I say exceeded my expectations. Delivery was super fast, too!

    Solid pie :)

I give Lefty's two stars because I actually really enjoy their pizza, both thin and pan, and we've been sorely short of good pizza in mid and east Wilmette for years. However, due to the owners responses to people questioning their masking policy, I will not be returning. When an owner degrades a customer for disagreeing with something, or complaining about staff or food....well, it's unacceptable, and it doesn't matter If they are right, wrong, or of differing opinions. I personally don't care if employees are masked when I'm ordering take out, but will never go to a store/restaurant where the owner/s or employees seem to default to name calling and belittling when dealing with a customer complaint.

The pan pizza had the right combination of sauce to spinach and a caramelized crust that will keep us coming back.

That crispy, slightly burnt caramelized cheese ring crust adds a smoky flavor you won't get elsewhere. Our server was an absolute gem and was so nice to talk to. I have been to both locations and this one is my favorite. This is the original location and it has such a cozy vibe. I love that this location is in a converted house, it's so cool! When we got there I saw that he was exactly right. This is right in the middle of a residential area and these people who can just open their front door and walk a few steps to some Pizza are living the dream. The building is pretty small for the amount of people that they squeeze in there. But they were extremely accommodating with us and squeezing in some extra people at our table, which was much appreciated. We had a reservation, which was 100% the right move for how busy this place gets. I had done some research on what their pizza was like so I wasn't surprised when I saw the crust, which some people might think is burnt but it is not. Instead it is caramelized. It was definitely interesting and unlike other versions of Chicago Deep Dish I have tried. The sauce was also quite good. If I'm being 100% honest, this wasn't my favorite Deep Dish I had while in Chicago but it was definitely in the top contenders.

You can dine inside or outside. I believe they have a heated patio outside. We dined inside, it was a shame that we couldn't sit at the booth where Anthony Bourdain's picture is. It was occupied. We ordered cheese curds and a medium sized pizza. For toppings, we chose sausage, mushrooms, and fresh garlic. This is not deep dish pizza, I would say it's more of a pan style. It's not heavy like at Gino's East or Giordano's. It has that famous caramelized crust and that airy dough. The toppings were super fresh. We immediately tasted the garlic. Burt's own special blend of the sausage tasted homemade. If you dine in, they cut it for you. If you take it home, you should already have a pizza cutter in your kitchen. Don't be lazy, it's very inexpensive. The cheese curds were generous and very tasty. They're like bite size mozzarella sticks. Service was great and attentive. Prices were cheap.

We dined out on the patio, enjoying a nice summer breeze and letting the kids mess with the chalk wall as they were less patient waiting. Pizza is definitely worth the wait, which is not as long as other deep dish places. Fresh brews on tap, casual and nice for conversations. My only complaint would be the chairs are not comfortable to sit in for long, and were not wide enough for my mid-size hips. And sometimes outside we got wafts of cigarette smoke. Still, it's a great spot not to be missed. It changed our minds on deep dish!

And I just have to mention that the service is outstanding and attentive. We decided to go with a plethora of dishes starting with their fried calamari to share. Perfectly tender with a light batter and served with both a house marinara and lemon aioli. Personally I LOVED the lemon aioli but the marinara not so much. I was just expecting more of a robust flavor from it. I chose my main from their 2 course lunch which is a pretty damn good deal. I chose the Baby Gem Salad and their Siena Smashburger and I knew I made a wise decision. The Gem Salad was actually the perfect lunch size and the burger...whoa. I know my burgers and this one was a good smash burger. It wasn't 'glammed' up like some burgers which I appreciated. Just the right amount of sauce and simple condiments. Next menu item...the Prosciutto and Fig Pizza. Ok today I learned that Bar Siena has major Neapolitan pizza game. The marriage of flavors drive me crazy. The difference maker on this pizza was the fact that they used real figs. Not fig preserve or fig jam but the real deal. Everything about this pizza was a home run. The crust, the toppings and even the arugula! I'm not a fan of arugula as I find it to be a little too pungent but I don't know what they did but this was so smooth and that pungent flavor was absent. Man just writing about that pizza and burger makes me excited to eat them again. Glad I have leftovers lol. Yeah def going back whenever I can!
